Always cook it, nothings ever happened to me so far cooking ad I just do it outside in some tree/bushes. Make a small fire, grab a sharp stick and quickly cook 2 pieces of meat and done.

PLEASE reverse the NEW "Client Side Personal Night Light"
chompster replied to 0.64 Freerider's topic in General Discussion
Just tried it out on the experimental servers, and wow it looks really bad. The blue glow is absurdly strong and just looks bad in general. Hope it gets reverted and they figure something else out, but this isn't the right solution. -
Holy crap, yes please! this seems so much nicer than having scroll up and down(slowly) every time you want to find something! Very well made and efficient use of space.

Who actually build bases and repair cars?
chompster replied to Evilsausage's topic in General Discussion
I don't build bases as I play alone and that shit would take way too long to be worth it for me. Not to mention all it does it makes it easier to find as it stands out so much more than a few tents hidden in bushes with camo nets on them(which is what I do). I Also don't build cars due to how fucking buggy they are right now. Literally have seen only 1 car that wasn't sunken into the ground half way up it's windows. The one I did find belonged to someone and was hidden between some trees, which I ran in to on my way to a town(thanks for the cereal and 7.62 ammo). Once cars are no longer a deathtrap and aren't prone to creating quicksand(1.0 my fucking ass), I'll gladly put in the time to put together a car as some of the distances are pretty gnarly to walk. -
Are infected coming back in 0.59?

So.. is there a full full version of this video? seems to cut off at the end.

By all means have someone mod it in when that's possible. But not officially.

.55 loot, I'll just leave it at this.
chompster replied to billyangstadt's topic in General Discussion
It most certainly isn't "working as intended" seeing how some buildings spawn a fuck ton of military loot and some police stations spawn like 10 MP5 and RAC magazines. I wouldn't mind the lack of food issue if they would just fucking fix animals spawning already. The number of animals, especially in the woods where you'd expect them, is ridiculously low. And no, i'm not going to Berenzino to hunt cows. If they want us to survive out in the wilderness, then actually provide the things we need in order to do so. -
I found a smersh harness and backpack in an apartment complex up in Novodmitrosk.

The loot increase at Police stations and military car wrecks is great

Can't wait for it to be fixed. As it should be. -

I don't know about that. Even historically, Axes have generally always been a lot more powerful than swords(depending on how you use it of course) But seeing how we only have a chopping action in Dayz, the sword wouldn't be as powerful as an Axe. Not to mention that it's some old abandoned sword, so even if it's "pristine" it's not as if it's freshly off the grinding stone so it probably would act more as a blunt weapons unless you stabbed hard with it.

Hardly. 7.62x39 ammo spawning is currently bugged hence the scarcity and the (again) buggyness of loot is preventing a decent amount of magazines to spawn. Once these two are fixed i can already see this rifle being used way more often. But not to mention that weapons need to start having a chance to spawn with the magazines, that would also really help this rifle. And an optic to put on it also wouldn't hurt.

Even though we know it isn't, me and my friends still call it a school.

DayZ Going to Become MMO At Some Point?
chompster replied to topvicious's topic in General Discussion
How? 50 players per server doesn't qualify as an MMO. Just because you can take your character over to other servers doesn't mean that its an MMO either. Is Battlefield a MMO as well? -
They do those kind of things themselves on debug servers. We're only here to test the actual end-product game experience.

Those don't do a whole lot for small villages or even most towns though. The school is a distinguishable point of interest, while currently most villages and towns host multiple of the exact same buildings. Even something as simple as varied colors and interior decoration would break up the motone feel of everything. It's a big more forgivable in cities as you do tend to find a lot of the same buildings there(Here in The Netherlands that's very noticeable) but once you enter smaller villages it's a bit tiresome to see the exact same buildings you see on the other side of the map.

Combat situation discussion: Victim of window height and FPS drop.

To me it'd be a "I wish i had the Arma3 stance system" moment. -
Honestly just retexturing the houses so towns have some variety would do it for me. Even if it were just a change of color.

Discussion about weapon slots on your back
chompster replied to Zyryanoff's topic in General Discussion
Definitely agree with you on this. For guns i can kinda ignore it since making proper gun slings wouldn't work(or look dumb when not on your back) and having too many straps/ways to hold things would start to look silly. But for melee weapons i really would like to see a more realistic way of how it's actually on your back. It just looks so stupid now. -
Yes please. And maybe even a burlap sack version with 3 holes that you can then also paint black with the spray can to get something like this: http://i1-news.softpedia-static.com/images/news2/Five-Online-Heists-Are-Coming-to-GTA-5-with-20-plus-Hours-of-Gameplay-468259-3.jpg Have it need rope too if needed to tie it up at the top or something.

A place holder for something that shouldn't even have any sound? that doesn't make any sense.

I think you're completely missing the point here. The problem is that when people spot someone they want to shoot, they will sit still and decrease their FOV that way by default it zooms in a lot and then use(if they have one) their optic to zoom in even more than usual. Once they've taken their shot or whatever, they turn it back up to something they like and continue. Then do the same thing all over again. This is in fact very much an exploit of the FOV slider. There is no defending it as that means you're defending an exploit(pretty much a cheat in this situation) So i'm all for it getting removed/needing a restart.
