Coincidence I suppose. When the server loads you see the green names on the right of all the people in it. That's the actual number of people, the number in the server list is often wrong.

Alright, so I'm not alone, good :) One thing I did think of is maybe I'll Google the alphabet so I at least know how to pronounce everything. That's a lot easier to remember than looking at a random collection of letters and signs. Thanks!

Yeah, supersmooth. Seemed to have an error messages kicking me out of the server 4 times (and thus losing my character), but had a solid, smooth spawn afterwards :) Don't know what was going on, but now have 10 cans of soda, a bottle of water, 11 cans of food (and had to eat some already to make space), and found 4 canopeners along the way. Think it's feeding time.

Whut, does loot spawn on fixed spots? I can imagine that getting kind of lame after a while if you know them all... :/

Helluw, Is it possible to swim with a backpack? Just went into the water, LOST my backpack on the floor (could still access it but not drag it on me), freaked out cause I somehow had an amazing spawn, got shitloads of food, a canopener, a magnum and 2 canteens. Don't know what I did, went to the shore, alt tabbed to google for a solution, and when I came back backpack was on my back.. Too scared to go back in the water and losing my stuff. Is it gonna stay on my back? :) I could try to hide it in a bush, swim to the lighthouse and come back, but that seems like a shitty idea haha, I saw fresspawns and crowbars EVERYWHERE around me, lol. Why I wanna go there? I heard someone say there's magnum ammo and pistols in lighthouses? Been there once before (long swim ;(), to no avail.. Cheers! This game is epic.

Hmmm, doubt it, I walked on the shore and it was still lying there on the ocean floor. Dammit haha, think I'm just gonna hide it, and swim. #yolo (most untrue thing in DayZ but okay.)

Good job. Just wanted to say that I have played with the new test update (something 77); rubberbanding gone! :) Happy customer here. And don't know if you secretely changed anything about food looting, but I am packed with food.

Hmm, yup, also became unplayable for me here. Had never experienced this rubberbanding, now with the new patch I had it at least a dozen times in my short playtime. Sometimes equipping an item would not react for literally a minute, then I would shoot back hundreds of meters. Was walking in a building, up stairs and all of a sudden for now reason I was dead. I'm also gonna sit this patch out and wait for another one..

Also, the point of this alpha is to help the devs, right? Is there a way where we can log bugs etcetera?

Hey, just a noob question, I'm not used to Steam. Do updates get installed automatically if I just double click the DayZ icon on my desktop, or do I need to update it through Steam or something?

K, after just been killed while trying to communicate by chat I realized I really need to check how my mic properly works. It works everywhere else, why doesn't it in DayZ SA? I'm so bummed, was my first good character :( Had an M4, pistol, quite a bit of ammo, 52 inventory slots, drinks, compass, some medicin and water purification stuff, random shit like rope etc etc. Meh, I just feel crappy lol, take it too serious haha. Minutes earlier I had to kill a noob who I tried to help but kept bashing at me. What would you do if you're in a tight building and someone walks around the corner, gun pulled? There is no time to communicate...

Works! Was something weird, changed something in Skype and that way it also worked in-game... Is so awesome with mic haha, also first time I played with a buddy. Not impossible to find each other :)

Friend of mine just bought the game, gonna test it, thanks :) And yeh, got to be less naive in some situations... Thanks guys. Sucks hahaha, are compasses rare?

Hello there! Bought Standalone 2 days ago, didn't get to playing much, holidays etc, you know it. Either way; loving it! I can understand the remarks by some people of it being boring but for some reason I really get in to it and enjoy running around and the stress for food and water. On my 3rd character now; first one fell of a ladder, second one I drank too much, got sick and just let it die cause it was such an unfortunate, pathetic, little fucker. Now I'm doing quite well; For some reason I spawned at shitloads of zombies, fought like 12 in my first 20 minutes, that's when I knew it was a man to keep. Was struggling to come around after finding my first crowbar, but after a lot of empty houses I reached the well where I got my 2nd character sick. I quickly found an army base, still hungry and thristy, where I met my first real people, exciting! Mic didn't seem to work though, so luckily they spared my life (were new as well). Not too much there, so I ran towards the massive skycrapers I saw. Awesome, my first city! Went into an apartment building, ALMOST died falling of a small little edge at the ladder, climbed up, not much to see there.. Some random newbie started bashing me in the middle of the hallway, tried convincing him to spare me but he kept at it, I couldn't defend myself and to be honest I ran, hid and logged off.. Not too proud but didn't want to lose my character. I also had found a compass and felt like that was useful and rare. Today has been a good day! Left the apartment building, found like 30 garage boxes, each with tons of stuff; best of all a backpack (25 slots). TONS of food and shirts for rags. Couple of scopes and things like that, not that I can to anything with them. After that ended up in a hospital looking for some medical supplies, didn't find those but after that found my holy grail (after fleeing for zombies); an unfortunate dead player with a 35 slot backpack, a handgun and a bloodbag (without blood or syringes, but okay). Thanks buddy, you will be remembered. Now, to the question! (Sorry for the long intro, bit of my stories :)); I have fought an insane amount of zombies on this character, and bled. A lot. I think I bandaged 3-4 times. Now my character is grunting every now and then, and I feel like he's in pain. There are no status effects (not hungry, thirsty, sick, ...). What is wrong with him and how do I fix him? Is pain an official status effect (appearing in the tab menu)? Also; how does health/blood work? I clearly lost a lot. Will it recover if I stay put, don't fight and just survive for a while? In that case I will look myself up at the top of an apartment building, read a book and just hope nobody comes and kills be. Or do I actually need to find someone willing to give me blood? Thanks! (Other random rant; bashing zombies seems to be hard, some die instantly, some take a long time. Just alpha stuff?)
