Think of DayZ as the ultimate sandwich, the brainchild of an amazing chef. The alpha version of this is very plain, basically rye bread, butter and mustard. Beta will include the meat and cheeses. Release will have all the amazing spices and relishes that turn a great sandwich into an amazing sandwich. MANY things are going to be added, this is just the basic taste to get the tastebuds going as the chef and his team are still experimenting with and testing the ingredients.

I think you guys need to capture some of your exploits via video capture software and post them to YouTube before the rest of us can call you "elite." It would be great verification of your claims. I gave your original post some beans for entertainment value, though.

- Zombies should not be player-controlled, no. I want Zombies to number in the thousands, I want them to instill fear and dread in me anytime I see them. I want them to smash doors, windows and other obstacles. I want to see a swarm of zombies stalk a panicked player and pounce on them! I want players who get nommed to death turn into a zombie themselves, loot and all! I have faith that the Zeds will be more fearsome come beta and release, that's for sure. - Mutant zombies, or super-zombies, sound like a cool idea. - From what Rocket was saying it seems there is a fixed limit to the amount of dynamic elements in the game engine (which is only 10,000) and when they fix that issue we will see more loot, more players and more zombies. A lower polygon count on Zeds cannot fix this. This will probably require a lot of work. - Stamina? Yeah okay I'm good with that. - Not sure what your car comment is about, but I reckon the current vehicles are still being developed. Patience.

It would be cool to have a .22 hunting rifle in-game as it could show everyone that you're not into shooting people so much as hunting wildlife for food, i.e. it would be a survivor's rifle. As others have said, it should be a common low-end civilian find, along with plenty of ammo. A nice touch, I like it. Hopefully Rocket will take note :)

How about no. Dude, you are like someone looking over the shoulder of Leonardo da Vinci as he's in the starting phases of painting the Mona Lisa saying "OMG dude, this will be such an ugly painting! Start over!" Its alpha, its not the finished product. Rocket will move over a lot of the RV3 features (like your precious ragdoll physics, bloom graphics and whatnot) when the game can support it. The engine will get more capable as we go along. Stop getting your panties in a bunch. The game and engine will get better and sleeker and shinier as we go along.

I too give my support for this kind of customization. Its the kind of thing one might do in a zombie survival situation.... :)

1.) DayZ is in Alpha and the devs are aware of the server hopping issue. 2.) I have full faith in the devs that they will fix the issue before it hits Beta. Its an Alpha people, you are obviously forgetting that. I for one am a fan of a 30 sec logout delay, though :)

You, dear sir, have never played Quake III Arena. There is a monstrous difference between 30fps and 60fps. Monstrous. You will see it in your reaction time. You could, if you wished, build a Steam Box for for your livingroom, buy Valve's controller and call it a console. You could then play DayZ in your livingroom with a controller. That's as far as I'd go. Repent of thy peasantry....
