Came here to post this. While acceleration seems to be gone, it's now entirely too sensitive. One swipe of my QcK mousepad will perform multiple 360's in game. In-game X and Y sensitivity is turned all the way down. Optical mouse DPI is set at 1800 and Windows sensitivity is at about 3. These settings are certainly not abnormal, and if anything they're low. I'd rather have the old mouse-look back. I'll check back for hopefully a fix.

Well, maybe the V formation just isn't as strong as you thought?

I can't find a picture, but there's like 3 or 4 of them in Svetlojarsk. They're small - roughly the size of a train car - with 3 sets of doors on the front.

Question about melee weapons: Is there any of the one-handed weapons that is better than the others? I realize they all suck, and I can only assume that will be addressed in a future patch, but any one that sucks less?

But it doesn't punish equally. It punishes those wanting to hop from server to server considerably more. Do back-to-back disconnects happen, thereby punishing the innocent? Sometimes.

I can't even find a Mosin anymore. I have a friend who says he found one in the piano bar though..... Is that the only place they spawn now?

I'm pretty accepting of the jank in DayZ, but the fact that this predicatment exists is pretty ridiculous. I went up a steep stairway and while I was on the second floor all of a sudden my character grunts and drops to the ground. I can no longer move except by crawling. I've been told my leg is broken and that I need morphine. Of course I have no morphine, and now I have no way of searching for any. The 'respawn' button is also grayed out so I can't suicide the character. Am I missing something to help me out of this situation, or am I destined to wander the apocolypse on my ass?

Quick question: if I drop a pack with stuff in it, run off and then die, is the pack still tied to my character and does it despawn, or is it a part of the world now?

It often takes 15-20 seconds, but I've never had something NOT appear. Move around a bit, make sure you're just not missing it. Oh, and i read to not drop stuff on upper floors of bulidings, as it can fall through the geometry.

I've been playing this game fine (relatively) all week, but then last night I started being unable to join any server. I'll click on a server and it goes to the Wait For Host screen and my game locks up. I have to start task manager to get out of it. And it's doing this for every server I try, and I've tried about 30 so far. Sometimes I'll also get the error Confirmation Of Changes - Connection Failed. I don't have to cntl-alt-delete that error, but it still doesn't let me join anything. I do notice that my character on the title screen isn't the last character I was playing with. I was about 30 minutes into a new character, and that isn't the one that is showing. So I'm wondering if there's some sort of sync issue that's preventing me from joining. If so, is there any way I can respawn or reset my character while not joined in a server??? I did verify cache in Steam, didn't help. Thanks for any help.

Unfortunately that didn't work. Server browser -> click on a server -> Joining Game..... -> Kicks me back out to the browser with Confirmation Of Changes: Connecting Failed. Tried about 20 different servers. And obviously I know nothing about nothing, but I still think it's odd that the title screen is showing an older character. It makes me wonder if the character I was last playing with isn't somehow being recognized, so the game doesn't know where to put me. Considering my current addiction to this game, I find this predicament troubling. edit: I'm not sure if this is related or not, but now it seems whenever I try backing out of the server browser, either by clicking Cancel or hitting Esc., the game locks up on me. I don't ever remember that being the case. edit 2: OKAY! Now it's working. *sigh* I noticed my resolution wasn't set correctly, and after that it loaded up the game. I know I had defaulted the video settings while trying to diagnose what was going on, but I'm not sure why my resolution was originally set incorrectly to start this. Anyways, I hope that was is. Sorry for making a dumb post.

Deleted all files - reinstalling now.....

I will say it's extremely impressive that this game has been almost constantly at #1 on Steam during the entire week of their hugely popular winter sale - and this game isn't even on sale. Incredible really. Hope it lights a fire under Bohemia's ass to support the development of this project.

I just restarted Steam and it didn't fix it. Doesn't look like there has been any update lately.

Wait For Host For whatever reason, last night at some point whenever I try to join a server the game locks up at Wait For Host. I have to ctrl-alt-delete to close it down. I've tried high pop servers, low pop servers, high ping, low ping, servers I know I've played on before. Nothing. I do notice that my character on the title screen is slightly older, which isn't that uncommon after making a new character, but I'm wondering if there's some sort of sync issue preventing me from loading into a server. EDIT: Now I'm constantly getting Confirmation of Changes: Connecting Failed while trying to join a server. Any server.

I would much rather have this than tents and player "cities".
