How to Increase frames in DayZ with a Mid/Low end PC (in game specs)
Tactical Soldier Gaming replied to Tactical Soldier Gaming's topic in General Discussion
Rendering distance adds more objects to your screen. Big FPS killer. Most conflicts in my experience happen at roughly >200 meters -
Ok... So your friendly... BOOM!

wanna make it a real MMO? devs read this.

1k player servers will never happen. This would require a whole overhaul of the software the game is built on and would require the game to be completely redesigned. Think before you speak. -
Is it dead?!? quick Q

There are no good Dayz SA youtubers?

rhinoCrunch has quite a few uploads, as long as you don't care about the whole stunt he pulled to get attention. Other than that I haven't seen any other big names making much about it. -
How to Properly Eliminate Server Hopping, Ghosting, and Combat Logging.
Tactical Soldier Gaming replied to EastwoodHD's topic in Suggestions
I see a problem though! What if the server crashes? What if you get a "Message not received for so and so seconds" then you have to exit and are unable to play for five minutes because the server you were just on crashed and you can't join another? New Idea: -Change it so that you must press escape, then wait 30 seconds before you can exit the game. -Alt-F4 = death, the immersion is already broken so breaking the immersion by killing them doesn't really validate with me. -Upon joining a server, you must wait 60 seconds before looting items. -Joining more than 3 servers in let's say, a fifteen minute period, than you would have a "Cooldown" on joining servers for twenty minutes. This doesn't increase and seems a bit harsh, but if you have three servers go down on you in 15 minutes then maybe you shouldn't have walked under the ladder. -
How to Increase frames in DayZ with a Mid/Low end PC (in game specs)
Tactical Soldier Gaming posted a topic in General Discussion
Hello! I think I have the best settings possible for getting good frames in DayZ Standalone while maintaining a good graphics quality on a Mid to Low end gaming PC My Specs: GPU: GeForce GTX 650 ti CPU: AMD A6-3650 APU Memory: 8 GB DDR3 RAM HDD: 1 TB OS: Windows 7 Home Premium Graphical Settings: This is what I run on, and I get 40+ frames outside of cities and 25-30 inside. First, go to your Video settings in game. Upon opening change your RENDERING RESOLUTION to 100% and turn VSync OFF. Then Go to TEXTURES Video Memory: AUTO Texture Detail: HIGH Texture Filtering: HIGH (changing this to high makes your graphics card take the load of processing/rendering the textures and can help performance on some builds) Then go to QUALITY Objects: VERY LOW (changes the rendering distance for objects, can massively improve performance) Terrain: NORMAL (changing this setting currently does nothing) Clouds: DISABLED (clouds reduce fps by a lot and really aren't that important) Shadows: NORMAL (changing this to low can give an extra frame or two but will change shadows to render as blocky and undetailed) Now go to RENDERING DISABLE EVERYTHING OR PUT AT THE LOWEST SETTING. THEN CHANGE EDGE SMOOTHING TO HIGH SMAA OR FXAA (SMAA or FXAA makes up for Anti-Aliasing which reduces jaggies on the edges of objects) After all this has been changed in game, consider taking these steps to maybe improve fps more in game: Go to this directory: Libraries/Documents/DayZ/Dayz.cfg Then change 3D Performance to 100000 (One hundred thousand) Also change these two from what you have them at to: GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1; GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=1; Please let me know if this has helped you and if you have any questions please comment below. Edit: Colored bold words for easier viewing. -
Graphic recommendations
Tactical Soldier Gaming replied to Floppy_Rabbits's topic in General Discussion
I play on a 650 ti Boost (EVGA) and I can hardly get thirty on on low settings, not sure how un-optimized a game could be, but apparently... I quite remember Arma 2 being this way too... way power hungry for graphics that really aren't astonishing. Good, but not enough to kill my pc this way. EDIT: Figured out how to get some improvements. 1. Turn of AA, use high SMAA 2. NO POST PROCESSING 3. No AO, HDR 4. Set TEXTURES to HIGH. This will make your card process it instead of your CPU. 5. Disable clouds, Shadows LOW, and Objects Very LOW. This gives me a reasonable 20-30 frames inside towns. Keep your 3D rendering at 100% aswell, it makes things look nice, and lowering it doesn't seem to help my frames at all. -
Suggestions for DayZ? (Sleeping Suggestion)
Tactical Soldier Gaming replied to H4K33M's topic in General Discussion
It seems quite useless honestly, having a sleep method is useful in single player RPG's because it passes time quickly. In MMO's it does nothing beneficial, if given a bonus, what will it do? If they do implement it, it would have to be a required thing or no one would use it, and those that did would be missing out on loot, it also makes you completely defenseless. I don't see it happening, i mean, the only thing I could see it doing is to give you some sort of "rested" feeling, in which it would help with shakiness while aiming, definitely wouldn't cure any sicknesses. At most sleep becomes a required thing, like eating, and then how would you keep track of that? how often would it make you sleep? How long would you have to sleep before being "rested"? It seems like a boring feature, I don't play most games to sit in the same spot "sleeping" for five minutes, If I wanted that I'd go to bed at 1:30 in the morning, not stay up playing DayZ... lol. -
*Long Post* The Intuition System and how it can work within DayZSA (Read before flaming)
Tactical Soldier Gaming replied to Slyguy65's topic in General Discussion
By the time you got close enough to do that you would already know by whether they tried to kill you or not haha. I feel like it's just gotta be done the old fashioned way. -
Obviously KoS is always going to be around, but consequences should be brought about, and I think the devs are definitely on top of this... considering the systems they have implemented into the game, and hopefully will continue to build upon, for example: Item Quality: The quality of items actually can be ruined by shooting people, depending on where you shoot them. So shooting someone can actually ruin the items that you were hoping to get, unless you're just KoS'ing for fun, in which case we have: Sickness: Although I don't think much happens to you but death if left untreated, I would like to see some other types of sicknesses like things that requires other players to help you with to become "cured". This could make banding together more useful. Ammo/Guns: I actually think that these need to be much rarer. In a zombie apocalypse what's the first thing that comes to mind in terms of survival? Guns. Everyone will be after them, it seems that withing an hour of scavenging I can almost always assuredly find a gun and ammo. Give me 4 hours.. time to search a military base and an airfield, and I've probably got 100+ round of ammunition for my M4 decked out with an ACOG flashlight and Magpul Stock. When really it should take that long for me to find a crappy damaged pistol with maybe three bullets. I realize the importance of guns in this game, and that they make the game "fun". But I seriously doubt that Rocket's intent with DayZ is to make it an "arcadey zombie shoot em' up game". Also, to me at least, spending 4 hours playing the game, and then finally finding a glorious M4, with maybe twenty bullets in a mag, would be a great feeling, and having that rarity would make players think twice before wasting their ammo on a helpless player. Zombies: Zombies aren't very scary in DayZ, and I think I read a post somewhere that said Rocket's intentions were to make the players the antagonist in DayZ, while Zombies where just sort of the back story to the game. I also think that Zombies could be a bit scarier, for instance, they could be WAY more attracted to sound, like firing a mosin in Elektro would send a flock of Zombies to come rape your face. I also think they should spawn in hoards, most animals that are predators hunt in packs, in predatory state Zombies would act the same way, this coupled with my idea for Ammo/Guns would be really effective at making this game better, and warding off KoS. I'd like to say that I'm not against killing people, all for it actually, but I believe that any respectable bandit would be more intelligent and cunning than to resort to KoS, this is why handcuffs were made, and force feeding, and taking blood. This game is at its highest when it's played realistically.

*Long Post* The Intuition System and how it can work within DayZSA (Read before flaming)
Tactical Soldier Gaming replied to Slyguy65's topic in General Discussion
It seems well thought out and I like the idea, but I fear it would be hell to script and would be very taxing on our systems. First off the script would have to search for players near you, identify them, find them in a database, and then recall the information in the database. Plus the script would constantly have to search for other players, running it that many times would be quite taxing on servers and such... but I'm not very experienced in programming... so maybe I have no clue what I'm talking about.
