From reading your post, i get the idea that you think bug fixing is not "the right direction" for development? and that only adding new features is? it takes time to get past the initial game crippling issues that dayz had, only now that they have sorted the basics, are they able to concentrate efforts on expanding the experience. Development was never going in the wrong direction, you expectation though, was.

OP describes camo gear, and weapon clips as basic equipment? as has been said above, you are in the wrong game, this is survival. food, clothing and water are basic needs, amazeballs guns and military gear are high end items that should not be easily found by someone who just spawned.... The game has not gone downhill, because it is not the game yet, it is a piece of software under development, so let it develop. -

I find pipsi to be a common place to find hackers....hada my fair share of encounters with them.

sounds like a good idea, would like to see something of this variation implemented, however without animations to explain why it is taking so long, it would take away from immersion for me, not add to it.
