Zombie hamsters running on wheels...I power my entire home with them.|

Well that creeped me right the fuck out...far more than any zombies on a night server ever did.

I played on an experimental server for the first time the other night and the zombies were definitely more of a challenge, but I must have just had bad timing because there were no more than 4-5 people on each of the few experimental servers available at the time. I think they were all 40 player max servers.

I must have saw 5-6 people get kicked because of problems with their names last night. Some were for disallowed characters while others had names that were too short.

Im sorry I dont have any further tips for you, but I just wanted to say thanks for this not being another "Everyone kills me, I just want to be friends, Im taking my hardhat, going home, and never playing again!" thread....

I played on a hardcore server for the first time yesterday and met up with two people in Elektro within two minutes who were both friendly. One was operating one of those "random stuff all over the street" stores and the other was scoping him out until he saw me run up and not get attacked. I got an axe and a can opener, so I stuck around and chatted with them...through in game voice chat like a couple of dumbasses. Within five minutes though, we were under attack by a couple guys with m4s. I managed to kill one with my axe without being injured somehow, stole his m4, and we hid inside a building. The other guy opened the door and was greeted by two of us blasting him into oblivion. Not much different than regular servers, but I dont hop on DayZ looking to play red rover and ring around the rosey. I kind of enjoyed the greater level of intensity and unknown that a lack of 3pp brings.

my character on regular servers is currently wearing a black tactical vest I believe. I found it at the military base near pavlovo, in the barracks on the west side.

Nice vid, glad to see zombies slowly becoming a threat. So if one joins the experimental build, does your current character get wiped, or is it separate like hardcore servers?

This is the exact spot I realized that I am an absolutely horrible sniper...No amount of sighting in or use of a bipod and LRS can help me it seems. Anyone want to trade for my mosin? lol

Down lower beneath the mod section of the forum, theres a hobbies sub forum which has a technology sun forum beneath it. Thats where I go for info relating to the game and computers. I just picked up a solid state drive today because of tips from people in there.

In your position, Id save the money instead of trying to buy an individual component in an attempt to improve the game. By the time you can afford everything you need, the game will have further developed hopefully for the better anyway.

I was running an intel q6700 cpu, 4 gigs ddr2 800 mhz ram, a gtx260, and it wasnt doing too much for me quality wise. I first swapped out to a gtx660 and was able to run the game on slightly higher settings, but was still limited especially in cities. After that I made the big leap and switched to an i5 4670k, 8 gigs of ddr3 ram, a MSI z87-gd65 gaming mobo, and of course the gtx660 and it blew me away how much better things run. I know, not exactly a cheap option, the mobo, cpu, and ram was all together about $500, but its what was required to get this game running beautifully.

As much as I enjoy having a nice mosin, sks, or m4, I really have gotten a lot of joy out of players coming up to me aggressively with some sort of melee weapon, only to then become whimpering puppy dogs when I pull out my magnum and point it at their skull.

Ive got about 150 hours on the SA, but have never encountered something like this. I was playing on a server with something like 20/30 people on it. I had logged out in some bushes a few hundred meters from the coast on the other side of a hill, so when I logged back in, I was surrounded by wilderness and couldnt even see the road. I had a hungry status, so I decided to eat before heading out. As Im munching away on some cereal, I hear footsteps approaching and quickly bring out my magnum. I turn towards where I think the sound is and its a new spawn that appears to have nothing. He just says 'Whats up, buddy?" and suddenly theres gunfire coming my way.(Think he had a pistol) Anyways, I run away looking for cover, but the server crashes right then before I get a shot off. I walk away to grab some food irl and come back and log into another server. Within 5 minutes, as Im running North through the forest, the same flippin guy comes out of nowhere with the same line, "Whats up, buddy?" and starts shooting again. This time I was behind a large tree and returned fire with my mosin. He seems to run off and I lose sight of him. About fifteen minutes later, that server restarts. (Some nights I feel like I deal with way too many restarts) Since I wasnt on that server very long, I have to wait a minute, but I log back into another server with something like 25/40 people and the same motherf'n guy runs up to me within 2 minutes, but this time he attacks with an axe he had found apparently. He even said "Whats up buddy?" yet again. This time I manage to kill him and then run off. I stayed on that server the rest of the night and didnt see him again, but I really believe it was the same guy. No clue who he was or anything, but there were tons of servers to choose from and I dont think he knew my steam name.

The only group Ive joined is Becks privateers and even though I havent done much of anything with them, they arent a group of people who dick around with members...or at least Ive never gotten that impression. I will have to take a look at my friendslist though.

Maybe, there are a couple people I got add requests from that I wasnt sure where I know them from, but I still dont know how he'd come across me once I was heading North nowhere near a road.

Also, he didnt appear to be skipping around or teleporting or any of that crap. He appeared to be moving normally as far as I could tell.

After 140 hours of the SA, I had someone I played with the other night dupe a mosin for me. I wasnt aware it was even possible, but thats pretty much what he did. Drops gun and logs right out, logs back in and still has his gun even though I picked the other one up.
