So, you're saying that: 1. The bug is caused by server stability. 2. The bug is now fixed. 3. The servers are still unstable. In other words, in general, server stability wasn't the issue. So now you're saying that "one aspect" of server stability has been fixed? I don't see how server stability itself was the error then is something more specific was the cause. I'm sure that's server stability issue. There's a direct correlation between disconnects, desync, lag, and server instability without question. That thread's OP, however, never once mentions the 30s logout timer or the bug that caused players to spawn in a different location (as Grimey Rick did in both cases). He mentions the server-hopping penalty. That's where this convo really started, when you said "There is a thread about this" when the thread in fact is about a different issue. Not attacking, just attempting to clarify. Anyway, I don't think I'll reply anymore as this has already dragged on too long. Baseline is: This thread and the thread you posted have different topics, regardless of what causes the location bug. -

Yeah, when playing earlier I just noticed a huge plot of land and road layouts just NW of Gvozdno. Looks like a city will be there eventually; there's even a soccer field already! But it's not like it's wilderness anyway - it's already cleared of forest. Unless you meant the far NW. -

That's a hard connection to make for sure considering the bug is fixed yet server stability is still quite iffy. Where did you hear that the bug is caused solely on from stability? I'd believe it if a DEV confirmed it, but in the meantime, there's no reason to assume that's what caused the bug, especially considering it was easily fixed in the experimental (now stable) and people are still having server stability issues. The thread you posted originally, however, is indeed about general stability issues and the dude being pissed about losing connection and having to face a timer penalty when re-joining. Not the same as this thread at all really. -

He never said that it was working, he said, "The logout system is fine", in reference to the way it's designed to work. This is not to say there wasn't a bug that made it so the game forgot where you logged off. In fact, he stated it was a known bug that's already fixed. Did you read the thread at all? Good choice of forum name btw. -

Yeah, but can you never know for sure until playing! :) As for the 30s logout, I think it should stay the way it is where you log off and your character stays for the 30s. Making it so you can cancel it is somewhat besides the point as you could still potentially combat log and cancel if you see a guy before the 30s is up. Making it so you have no control after logging off influences players to never do it in a frequented area or in combat. -

You're right; it's not a coincidence because it's a known, commonly occurring, long ago reported, and supposedly fixed bug. It's still not intentional. Play experimental and check if it's fixed, lol. If you don't want to, it should be stable by next week Wednesday. -

I don't know what to tell you. The OP mentioned it like it was some intentional component of the new logout system. It's not. It's a known bug that's already fixed according to the experimental changelog. Systems: Players position was not saving on disconnect -
And if you can't find any sticks you can make a shittier one with just the rope & sack. :)

So what happened to you was a bug where you respawn at a different location than where you logged out. It is not intentional and has nothing to do with the 30 second log out mechanic. This is fixed in experimental. -

I think it should stay the same for the initial penalty, but increase dramatically with every consecutive server hop. -

Yes, because usually at that point I already let them know I have an extra weapon, and if they want it (so far 100% do) I proceed to the orders. So at that point, it's pretty much you move, you die. If they don't want it or just run away before orders, then I just let them go on their merry way and I gtfo. lol. -

I don't know what makes you think your punching abilities exceed the others that have tried this. And yes, I can stay drawn for the 1-2 seconds it takes to open up the inventory and drag a weapon to the ground (not the one I'm holding). Punching is rendered useless with proper situational control. If I tell a guy to crouch, face a wall, and not to move while I maintain a safe distance from the him, then he literally cannot punch me (unless there's like massive desync or something; thankfully that hasn't happened lol). There's plenty of time to react to someone who has to get up, turn around, then come at me. Can't do that faster than a bullet ;) As I stated before, the only time I've been knocked out when trying to give a guy a gun was when I was new at the game and was too naive to know any better. Ever since giving orders and maintaining distance, this hasn't happened once because I don't give the dude a chance. I just find it interesting that you argue that you'll punch a guy that gives you orders - but yet - if you don't give orders and keep up your guard while helping someone, then you're asking to wind up dead. Helping =/= letting guard down. As a side note, by "orders" I don't mean I'm commanding people or yelling at them. I usually attempt to sound as polite as possible while doing so, after I've already conversed with them for a bit. "Can you do me a favor and face the wall in crouch?" It's still their choice to do so or not. They can walk away and live, follow my orders and receive a weapon, or come at me and die. The choice is up to them really. Now if I would have just come in and killed the guy, I wouldn't have had nearly the same fun or experience. I have BF4 for that. Not to say whatever ways you play are wrong, this is just the way I like to play and I've been successful thus far. My guess is it'll only go wrong when the guy has a buddy I didn't see or there's a separate survivor altogether. Looking forward to when it happens, too. lol. -

How would you just "kick my ass" with a gun to you? You'd end up dead and without anything. "Position power"? No shit! Why would I not do so when giving someone a weapon? It would be incredibly naive and stupid not to.That's the reason I've NEVER been knocked out since it happened once when I just started playing and didn't know any better. I learned and adapted, and it works. While I've never had to kill someone when giving away a gun, I've killed others who'd decided to "kick my ass" when I have a gun on them. Stupid idea. And trust me when I say it's more than a slight advantage to have a weapon in this scenario. :) -

Geez you sociopath :p Why didn't you just part ways?Giving a weapon to someone and knowing they might shoot you is part of the excitement. That being said, I usually don't stick around for long after handing it over. Also I don't allow them to pick it up till I say. Soon as it's in heir hands they're a potential threat and must be treated as such. But I also haven't had to kill any of em yet! Lol -

Anyone without a gun appreciates receiving a gun for free. Literally, everyone I've given a gun to has thanked me. Also gave away an anti-stab vest yesterday because I wanted an assault vest instead. Was thanked for that as well. I spare them any lectures that you experienced lol. Also, I have and will continue to engage bandits. :) -

Have given many guns to other survivors. It's never ended in death for me thus far, just very grateful players. I always keep at least one weapon on me though. Sorry for all the edits lol. The combat timer is for people trying to escape situations involving other survivors, be it they don't know the intent of the other survivors. (Ultimately they ARE trying to not die). Before the timer was implemented, I had many players combat log when I was only trying to give them my gun :p -

Where, at all, did I say I feed Bambi's? Hint: I didn't. However, I did say that I don't run around killing people for no reason because, we'll, it's not fun to me. Actual interaction is the only thing ATM that keeps the game interesting.
