    Inland, Coast or both

I usually head inland first because the chance of the east coast cities being unlooted is usually pretty low, especially on experimental servers. After I've got some decent gear I sometimes return to coastal cities to the south or head up north to Svetlo. Rarely do I return to Berezino/Kamy/Elektro/Solnich. I really hate the thought of a few towns to the east being the birthplace of all players, but of course the spawning is WIP.

If you're gonna shoot first...Make sure you don't miss

Nice vid! Even better that it was in 1PP.
  3. This is the exact reason that stable hasn't been released yet. They want to rid it of the major bugs before introducing more content. Yet people complain about that too! The DEVs can't ever win.

    apologists are delaying development.

I can't agree with this at all, not when they do everything in their power to convince you not to buy it. It's far too early for "if" statements. Not only did they try to convince you not to buy it, but your purchase also includes the full, completed version. Essentially its a discounted pre-order in which you can be a part of the development. Win-win in my book.

Where are the updates? **crickets chirping**

What is it to you if some people enjoy the alpha? I certainly do, and while development has been slow the last few weeks I'm not gonna throw a fit and give up all hope. You don't have to give it any more time or have any hope, but just because people are more patient than you and have hope does not make them fanboys. If you decided to quit that's totally fine, but that doesn't mean others can't legitimately enjoy the alpha still. Also, if you truly quit, then why are you here still complaining about the reason you quit? The quitting part was the solution to the issue. No more need to complain.

That's totally acceptable, and in my opinion, a good idea.

    apologists are delaying development.

/\ I don't think weed has to do with his personality/behavior. That's offensive to weed! :P Maybe next time create a constructive thread. ;) If you'd like to reply to my post regarding your OP, then refer to page 3. But I appreciate the childish replies, it really paints a picture of who you are and lets me know to take your posts with a grain of salt.

    apologists are delaying development.

The issue is that you think you're contributing. When you resort to saying everyone is an "asskisser" because they don't agree with you, you lose much of your credibility. I vote for this thread to be closed. As Caboose so eloquently stated, "It brings nothing to the table to help in way way, shape or form to the development team."

    apologists are delaying development.

I suggest you start formulating your posts with more thoughtfulness, less finger pointing, and a greater number of arguable points. Also, you should probably avoid posting 3+ times in a row. There's an edit button. You want people to take you more seriously, yet the content of your posts will do anything but that. The mod is not singling you out so don't flatter yourself. Perhaps there's a reasoning behind your posts being deleted.

    apologists are delaying development.

This is a ridiculous statement. Constructive, more thoughtful posts are often treated much more seriously and thus you have less people shouting "alpha". Constructive criticism is welcomed, complaining is not.

    apologists are delaying development.

I do, however, think it's important that we are all able to notice the difference between constructive criticism and blatant complaining or whining. There's a pretty thick line separating the two. If it wasn't for the latter, no one would ever need to yell out "Alpha". More often than not, I see threads created in anger or disgust and are subsequently filled with negative remarks, swearing, and nothing particularly constructive. These threads are not helpful in any way and no one is going to want to reply to them in a thoughtful manner if the OP wasn't able to create a thoughtful thread to begin with. In regards to this thread, I'm not really sure how it helps progression even if it's not particularly negative. The recent progress has been rather slow, but we've been told this is due to a few major bugs that are particularly hard to pin down and iron out. We KNOW that we will soon have a physics engine, hunting, cooking, and will later have more advanced features such as vehicles and base building. Many of these systems are being completely reworked for the standalone and that requires more time and will introduce the possibility of more intrusive bugs which in turn take even more time to iron out. TL;DR - I don't find this thread constructive.

Where are the updates? **crickets chirping**

Don't encourage more sales. In fact, I suggest that you encourage people to NOT but the game in it's current state, just as rocket has done. Already too many people are buying the alpha without realizing what they are getting into. Last thing we need is more of these threads. If you do encourage people to buy it, place extreme emphasis on the fact that it is incomplete and will be at times unplayable.

Where are the updates? **crickets chirping**

Well I can't say my patience is fazed much by a 24 hour downtime. Talk about lack of patience. My patience probably wont "run out" as I couldn't say it has a set time. I understand it's alpha and certainly understand there will be major hurdles that the development team must face. As orlok stated, I'm reasonable. At the very worst I just won't play DayZ for a while. No need to make a thread purely to complain about how the game isn't living up to my standards.

    Missing gun: Found :)

There's no need to fill up empty servers if the more populated servers are not full. Never have I found myself in a predicament where I've HAD to join a low-pop server. If the demand jumps fast, servers fill up fast. The main point is - there's no point to be on a low pop server unless you're testing. Gearing up on a low-pop server is besides the point of the game anyway, especially in its current state.

    3pp Exploit

The difference is all those game are far from tactical or realistic (authentic). DayZ (or ArmA) is not like any of those games and 3rd person view entirely changes the mechanics of firefights in a not so flattering way. Luckily there are hardcore servers.
  16. I never even use my fists, thus I am the most hardcore.

Way to die # 003: Punched to death

    Haha...
  18. solodude23

    3pp Exploit

Simple misuse of terminology derived from personal bias. While I don't like the use of 3PP and you'll never see me on a normal server, I don't consider it an "exploit".

Please, for the love of Gaben, stop

OR3GONIZ3D, making pot smokers look bad since 8 Feb. 2014. @ OP: I agree. Though in the beginning, not having a background in any ArmA game, I thought it was supposed to be a part of Russia myself. It wasn't until I saw the post that showed the Google street views of Chernaurus that I realized it was part of the Czech Republic.

    Full weetod fresh spawns

No kidding. Getting really sick of some of the people on this forum. I see a thread and think, "Oh, I'd like to contribute to that" but after a quick breeze through a page or more of insults I determine it's simply not worth it. Is it that hard to say you don't agree with the OP's idea without insulting the dude? FFS lol.

Do you think Zombies should be headshots only?

Headshots should always be one shot kill. For the remainder of the body it should be somewhere around 2 to 5 shots to kill depending on caliber and shot placement.

Why do zombies spawn out of thin air (experimental)

It can effect gameplay in the right situations. I've had a few survivor interactions altered due to the higher presence of zombies in cities. I was able to survive being pinned down in a building because my hunter had to deal with a swarm of zombies after him. Not so easy for him to simply get his axe out and kill em when he also has me to worry about. I also was able to trust a guy in Svetlo who I was treating as hostile until he had a swarm of zombies after him. We took em out together and talked a bit about how cool the situation was before heading out separate ways.

    Rotten Foods

Look at it this way: You were already in a bad state, starving to death and clearly NOT healthy. You then eat something poisonous, which has a chance of making you sick. That sickness will now have a much easier time killing you considering you were already in a bad state. It's possible to live through sickness (especially light food poisoning), but it's not very easy if you're already on the verge of death. Your suggestion of making it so you can survive food poisoning/sickness is already in the game. Look on the bright side, you now know what berry bush to avoid! :D

Why do zombies spawn out of thin air (experimental)

It's only a placeholder as the DEV's have stated and I don't care, I still like it. At least they pose some sort of threat now. Gives you something to do besides worry bout other survivors. One thing I found interesting in testing that a maximum of 4 zombies can be focused on a single player at once. I was trying to gather all the zombies in Berezino to form a horde and every time I'd get a 5th zombie, one of the previous 4 would "forget" about me.

    New MORE Wooden Stick Spawns

Yeah I agree. I broke my leg on some rocks near that newish town to the north, west of Svetlo. Luckily for me, I was smart enough to store my only morphine in my pants which was of course ruined when I fell. I crawled through every building, room, and garage and didn't find a single wooden stick. I then decided to climb to the top of a fire station, shoot off all my rounds, and crawl off the ledge to my death. Vaulting with a broken leg hasn't been possible since the release of 0.37. You can, however, use some of the F-communication keys to stand up/sit.
