    Anyone getting bored of Standalone?

Damn, I thought my ~150 hours was a lot. I'm a bit bored of the current version, so I haven't played in 2 weeks or so, but I'm still a huge fan of the game and I'm eagerly awaiting the next update.
  2. I like that you are less likely to encounter fresh spawns to the northeast, but I honestly really dislike the idea of the coast being the birthplace of all spawns, especially when it comes to the large cities. I love Svet, Berezino, Elektro, and Cherno but I don't like the association that they have with fresh spawns. If anything, I feel like the large cities (many of which are on the coast) should be the places you have to travel to in order to get more/better loot at high risk. You know, the dangerous places you go once you've at least got some decent gear. As it is, (and was with the earlier spawn system) you're more likely to run into careless head-punching fresh spawns who have nothing to lose in these towns rather than serious players. All in all, I just don't like the idea of the coast being the birthplace of all survivors. Plus it would cut's down on the easiness of camping fresh spawns. If they spawn (nearly) all over then it's virtually impossible to camp 'em. That being said, I'd rather players spawn on the entire coast than just a portion of the coast. The more spread out the better.

    Yesus the hacker

I've only ran into him on experimental, where there's no BE.

    Elektro spawn gone?

Dunno what the eventual plan is for spawning, but I certainly hope there are eventually MANY spawns spread throughout the map, mainly in the smaller towns/villages that are not in close proximity to large cities and military bases.

Is a longer view distance being worked on?

I never thought the view distance or object view distance was low myself (run objects at max), but you can edit the following values in 'username.DayZProfile' file in My Documents -> DayZ. These are the defaults: shadowZDistance=100;viewDistance=2000;preferredObjectViewDistance=1600; If you decide to change em, make sure you go to the file's properties and check 'Read-only' so they don't default when you start the game.

Hello. My name is H@cker! (DayZ-SA video) #Experimental

Haha, I am pretty sure I've ran into this guy twice now on experimental. Both times he ambushed me in bumfuck nowhere and asks where I'm from before offering me items and teleporting around. At least he's not using the hacks to kill everyone! lol.

What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?

Haha, pretty sure I've ran into this guy twice now on experimental. Both time's he's offered me shit before teleporting around or leading me to other distant survivors. At least he's not just killing everyone...lol.

    Rolling Update Rev - 0.43.116251

Dammit how do you embed tweets? https://twitter.com/rocket2guns/status/453952019586629632 Hopefully this means today or tomorrow! Dang PAX impeding progress!

    What are they?

Infected living (as confirmed). I think it's the more "plausible" approach than the living dead - as taken by 28 days later and last of us (difference causes of course). I feel as though this makes the damage system and speed make a bit more sense too. In one of your several rant threads.

    Sneaky server update! (confirmed)

And the many players who've confirmed it on the forums and reddit are all in on said hoax? I think not! :) Also, someone posted pictures of all the fixed loot spawns somewhere the other day. Can't seem to find em now tho.

    Holy shit loot's respawning? Awesome!

Is the LRS really as rare as people say it is?

It's the only thing I've never found in the game. I don't really like sniping in DayZ so I didn't really go out looking for it until recently. Other day I went to specifically look for it through unlooted areas including all of NWAF, the base south of it, Green Mountain, the military base connected to Zelenogorsk, and finally the base near Pavlovo. Not one LRS. Meanwhile I found like 50 pistols, couple M4s, PU scopes, and even a few pistol mags. Now that the tent spawn are back they'll probably be easier to find. I haven't found anything weapon related in garages in the last several updates except maybe one bipod. Seems like they used to have a much higher chance of spawning scopes. Used to feel like there was a PU in every other garage.

Too North East / Coastal Focused?

There's plenty to come up north. Just look at the plots of land up there waiting to be built upon. Anyway, I think spawns are the main issue, not city locations. If anything, the major cities should be the least likely places to spawn in. They should be the dangerous place you venture to once you have a bit of gear.

    Sneaky server update! (confirmed)

So I'm assuming this is on stable? They were messing around with this fix a week or so ago on experimental.

    Any Windows 8 users.

I run many games including DayZ on Windows 8.1 without ever having any issues.

The Campaign for Iron Sight Zoom

I'm not against the ability to HOLD right click to zoom. However, I can't stand being forced to zoom in by simply aiming with ironsights. As already stated, it makes room clearing a nightmare.
  17. Because people don't want to max out their FOV just so their sights don't zoom too much. I have my FOV just past the middlepoint where I like it and I cannot stand the zoom on the pistols and some other iron sights. It's like I'm putting blinders on. There should be zero zoom on pistols.
  18. Well this thread has gone as usual: ----- OP: Zombies suck Reply's: Alpha OP: Fanboy ----- Remember, the current zombies are placeholders and the DEVs are well aware that they suck currently. ;) It's not that they passed experimental testing and got into stable, but rather respawning was added to appease those complaining about zombies being too easy, though it may have been done a bit "rough". Anyway, they told us that they were placeholders - and thus there is no need to test them. They'll probably make an intermediate adjustment to the current placeholder system to appease the community once again, but that's just my guess. Also, there are PLENTY of these threads already, two of which are on the first page and one that is stickied. Trust me when I say there is no lack of feedback on the current zombies. Your feedback is indeed welcome, but there are already threads on the issue.

Apparently I was "speed gun hacking" ( me vs 3 fight) Video

You gave me a chuckle here. You submitted the post and then thought, "hmm, something is missing," and subsequently edited in the underlined part. Much better. :D Because that has nothing to do with this thread. Sure, glitching is bad, but I can't exactly blame people when the glitches are so prevalently used by everyone else. Hell, you can't even play night mode without gamma glitching. Anyway, glitching!= hacking. By all means, start your own thread. Actually don't, there's already plenty. I'm sure you'll find one to reply to. ;) Totally not a retard troll guy away!

Maybe 1st person is more friendly.

/\ Great points, but I think the last sentence of your first paragraph has a typo. ;)

Maybe 1st person is more friendly.

My postings have nothing to do with opinion and all to do with experience. In my experience, I have encountered a single child on hardcore and it's all I play these days. That's not to say they don't exist in greater numbers, but they surely seem more rare. Of course hardcore isn't harder, but it is hard for people to adjust to the fact that can't see around walls and fences. It surely was a hard transition for me and I felt VERY vulnerable in the beginning. It even made me want to go back to my "safety bubble" of 3PP but I didn't and I'm glad. I'm glad that works for you, but I don't like 3PP so I happily "restrict" myself to 1PP. I guarantee you that everyone that is against 3PP is well aware that you can use the camera defensively. If you want to survive beyond your first interaction, you HAVE to use it defensively. That's besides the point. Back when I played 3PP it felt as though every firefight/encounter surrounded the use of 3PP, offensively and defensively, and it felt just silly to me. It destroyed the mechanics of firefights. I don't want to have to use it defensively. (Which isn't an issue for me due to 1PP servers) Not to mention holding people up from behind walls and confronting people through walls for safety. That wall of safety isn't there in 1PP. I totally agree and I love what this brings to combat! It's tense, immersive, tactical, and dang confusing. lol. You sort of lost me here. I do agree that both require the development of certain skills, but 3PP combat is nothing like 1PP combat. There's still a large difference between the two despite which version is better in people's opinions. That pretty much sums up the difference that makes me enjoy 1PP much more. 3PP is based on the skilled use of said "magical periscope" while 1PP relies on tactics, line of sight, and careful decisions. I understand that playing more tactically benefits the players on both versions, but moving tactical is much more rewarding when you know that know one is looking at you from around a corner. Having to expose yourself to scout an area changes the game dramatically (and seems to reduce KOS by loads) I do, however, get that 3PP can be a fun, more relaxed, version of the game that appeals to many and that's just fine by me! :)

Apparently I was "speed gun hacking" ( me vs 3 fight) Video

The funniest part is you want a serious reply to an initial troll-like post that was clearly intended as a shot at the OP. Now you're acting all high and mighty over a computer when you took the initial shot, an idiotic one at that. Why can't you just let it go? It is now evident to me that your initial troll post didn't even deserve the likes of a derp reply; little did I know I was still taking troll bait, lol. Nonetheless, I'll humor you. I'm not a fan of 3PP by any means, but to relate the use of 3PP to actual hacking/cheating is foolishly instigative and highlights your elitist 1PP attitude that makes the rest of us 1PPers look bad. Also, derp. ;)

No need to defend him from a derp post. Derp post deserves derp reply. Edit: Derp.

Maybe 1st person is more friendly.

I've also found 1PP to be more friendly and also found that there are less kids, griefers, and general douchbags. Is there a connection? Who knows. :o
  25. I'd say I'm tolerant of them. Sure, I wouldn't mind if they added a minute or two to their spawn if it's not too difficult, but I can't say I'm really that "bothered" by the current implementation. I like that the game has more than 1 dimension (PVP) more than I dislike the current zombies.
