Looking to pick up a new PC, suggested specs to handle both DayZ SA and other High-End games?

No reason to get GTX 770 if you are shooting for rig under 1k. Plus this game stresses CPU more than GPU. I run on high settings with following: i5 3570K GTX 660 TI 2gb 8gb DDR3 RAM If I were you I would go for better CPU (i7) and get a slightly aged GPU which you can upgrade later (690?) if you really want too play this. Plus I run bf4 with my rig on high settings and no problems. No reason to spend 500+ on newer GPU as it will kill your ability too keep price under 1k. -
Random thought but think about what this could do for the game! Even when devs fix server hopping it is still easy to find some low pop server, gear up and then go camp bambies. I love anything that adds to the tension or otherwise mysterious qualities of this game. My favorite moments are when I approach a city, etc, with no idea of what or who I will find. I can already imagine a lot of the retorts but I will let them come as they may.... Thoughts comm?

What are your thoughts on camping snipers at Balota?
Magnusveritas replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
IMO people really need to let up on all the KOS /balota -kamy massacre complaining. Don't get me wrong, it sucks when it happens too you and I would never defend those guys but it is part of the game. If you are fresh spawn stay the hell away from the easy gear and truck north. However, if I'm looting an airfield swimming in swamp ass because im so nervous you better believe I'm gonna kos. -
This kind of thing is a must. NPC car chases, heli crashes, maybe camp (ie base) spawns like in wasteland all would be awesome and would add a needed level to this already amazing game without too much development. There is so much you could do with this kind of thing. Specific suggestions: NPC base spawns NPC bandit gangs roaming Derailed trains NPC survivor boats on coast Etc etc etc

Love it. The game definitely needs something to show off players with long in game life without a death.

I think the only "leveling" type system that should be implemented would be the ability to lock 1+ per level (definition/terms up for discussion) base items. I.e: Level 10: ability to lock tent, I.e. cannot be crushed or stolen. Level 15: ability to lock first base building item. And this could continue on to some max level. Also maybe implement the crafting of different storage buildings at higher levels, such as a shed etc. They should be made fully burglarable (not a word but you get my point) like tents in mod but with the added base items perhaps add locked doors and even later the ability to hire NPC guards? So much could be done with this and it would be freaking amazing. The only issue besides coding i see would be servers getting overloaded with bases but that could be mitigated by only allowing X number of total building items per server while also allowing them too be destroyed through some means and reset upon restart. There is so much I want to write about this but I am getting on a plane so give me your thoughts and I will extrapolate further.

Base building as leveling system.
Magnusveritas replied to Magnusveritas's topic in General Discussion
Good points. I was simply thinking that this would be the best way to flaunt your skill. Gear is one thing but a base would be truly awesome. Perhaps I should have added that I think if something like this was implemented all base items except the main ( ie tent, shed whatever) would reset upon death. Thanks for your thoughts though. -
Love it. Period.

I love the idea, thought about this myself. The coding to update some of the items already in game is not difficult to implement. Actually adding an armband would be more time intensive then simply allowing a user to change the color off specific items through some variation of the already in place "crafting" system. I.e. broken pens etc as suggested. I think this should be done in some version regardless.
