Need Medical Assistance in DayZ SA ? Find Your medic here!
-zEr0- replied to TMWMarijke's topic in General Discussion
Need help. My character is stuck and can't move. Someone has to kill me I guess. Or if possible try to push me out of that Position. Problem is I don't know exactly where I am but maybe some guys of you can figure it out from the screenshots. :D http://www.pic-upload.de/view-23227608/2014-05-17_00002.jpg.html http://www.pic-upload.de/view-23227612/2014-05-17_00004.jpg.html -

really good Job on the nighttime. With all the lighting effets around several buildings it's a great atmosphere. I really prefer nighttime over daytime now. I'd be happy if they improved Performance especially in towns and villages. CPU is the bottleneck there... -

ambient occlusion is not working for me in the current experimental build. It always changes itself to disabled. Also please put more load onto the GPU or give Options that certain graphic effects are rendered by gpu only. Performance Killers are still Scene complexity aka object Detail, terrain and ambient occlusion which everybody turns off obviously. The Thing is you can't turn off Scene complexity. You can tweak it to some degree but if you overdo it it will have Impact on the gameplay since Players are rendered by this Thing as well. I appreciate every Performance fix so please stay on track. We Need Performance. -
deer stands should spawn loot as well....

I would like to see this game using the mantle api since it is heavily cpu bound. But I guess this will never happen. However I'm excited for any upcoming AMD optimizations. -

I removed all my Startup Parameters which increased Performance for me somehow. I want to put as much load onto the gpu as possible and therefore I would like to know which Settings are cpu related only so I can turn those down only and leave the rest on high Settings. -
I Play in third Person most of the time but when I have to shoot I make a rightclick on the mouse before to go into first Person. That's how I did it...

I was at the Military base near Vybor and I had the Chance to take out two guys at once very easily. My character was in prone behind a bush and I definitely knew that there were some other guys around so I waited there. Then I saw them coming. They checked the area but didn't see me so I opened fire but always missed....My crosshair was pointing right onto These guys but my shots hit the ground before me. I made a role to the side but still my shots kept hitting the damn ground before me. In the meantime the two other Players figured out where I was and killed me. Is there a known bug with Shooting in prone or have I been unlucky with my characters Position? The Situation was really frusttrating since I would have easily killed both Players at once if there hadn't been this stupid Shooting glitch bug whatever in prone. Has anyone experienced this before?

I found that disabling HDR and Bloom completely results in a significant Performance gain. Just set both values in the config files to 0.

-skipIntro and -world=empty makes the main menu appear with a light blue Background. Also it makes character creation pointless since you won't see anything on the Screen. If you don't want this crap remove the Parameters and you're good to go. Also I recommend Setting Antialiasing to "Low" and AoC to "All trees and grass". I can't see a noticeable visual difference between Antialiasing on "low" or "medium" except that "medium" costs more fps. -winxp seems to improve Performance for me although Alt-Tab causes the game to Crash.

I deleted the old dayz config files and just let the game create new files. Then adjusted my Settings again and the game runs fine.

Dayz Client crashes when Startup Parameter -winxp is used and HDR Precision is set to low (HDR Precision=16). Would be nice if they fixed this is an upcoming patch. :beans: -
I have noticed that Setting the fov value to anything above 1 causes ingame objects to strech and shape very unnaturally depending on your camera movements. You can test this when Standing next to a house or a Corner of a building. You feel like your character stands very closely to the wall but when you turn the camera a bit the distance to the object is actually a lot more than you would have expected. Don't know how to explain this properly. I figured this out when I turned the fov value to 1.6...Everything looked a bit out of shape.

really nice sounds you certainly deserve a lot of beans! In my opinion though the Zombie sounds didn't fit very well because they sounded like Mutant Giant Zombies or something to me. Imho they have to be creepier but nice work anyway! :beans:

I have tried many different graphic Settings so far but there is only one that offers good Performance as well as a nice looking game at the same time for me. Resolution: 100% (1920x1080) vsync: Off Video Memory: auto texture Detail: high texture filtering: high objects: very low (Scene complexity: 100000) Terrain: low (terraingrid=25) clouds: very high (doesn't eat a lot of Performance for me) shadows: normal (I don't see a huge difference compared to high or very high) antialiasing: normal ATC: all trees + grass (for me the game Looks horrible without it although it causes a slight Input lag) edge smoothing: disabled (postprocessing = cpu) HDR Quality: very low (HDR presicion=8, can be set to 0 in cnfg file but surfaces don't appear shiny any more. Haven't noticed a huge Performance gain when turned off completely) ambient occlusion: disabled postprocessing: disabled (CPU) mousesmoothing=0 gpu_maxframesahead=1 gpu_detectedframesahead=0 (haven't noticed a huge difference compared to 1) viewdistance: 1600 preferedobjectviewdistance: 1600 shadowZDistance: 100 added the usual Startup Parameters to steam and installed the game onto an SSD. For me it runs good with These Settings and it Looks good as well.... my System: AMD FX8350 Sapphire Radeon HD6950 2GB G.Skill Sniper 8GB DDR3 1866Mhz Gigabyte 990FXA-UD5 Crucial M4 SSD 128GB
