Hey guys and gals, Gage here, or as people know me CherpZ. Well today I just purchased the standalone version of DayZ. For lack of words I am speechless at how amazing this game is. I have been playing the mod for quite some time now. Well as I come to release, the majority of players on the standalone are MORE friendly then those of the mod. So I decided to change from my bandit like tactics from the mod, and be more of a helpful player. Thus being said, I grouped up with 3 randoms, and my friend. Made a TS3 Server, and we started our day. It quickly became apperent that we had our roles within our group. Myself being the medic. In the Alpha version of the standalone, there are quite a few bugs, as with any Alpha. Not to discurage the game. Becoming knocked out, and never being able to get back is one of them. With the split of the group, We can manage the loot acourdingly , (I know thats spelled wrong but whatevs.) I get about 90% of the medical equipment. Learning the medical equipment is a very important thing to understand when your are trying to survive. The first being rags and bandages. Its a struggle when you have little to no supplies ripping off your shirt to make bandages. If thats the case, your can sanitize your rags (got from ripping the shirt up) to make them starile so you dont get infections. With the micro-management of items being increased in the standalone, blood transfuzions become more.....fun. Its a pain in the a**, What I recomend is if you can make a blood bag of your own blood when your full, so that way you dont have to go through the trouble of matching blood types. Because if you improperly mix blood you could die :(. Another tip with blood loss, the saline drip was said to give back more blood, however we have not yet had a chance to try this. Just to be safe, when ever we get the blood from our group, we have filled water bottles and a little "protein" foods, so the patient can be assure. Or worse case, hold up a random at gun point and let someone go to town on them with bags. One important thing to remember is that if you get knocked out, you run the chance of never getting back up, so make sure your medic, or your friend, has an Epi-Pen, or a defib. The defib does require a battery, And is more usefull then the P.o.S flashlight you have. ;) And for some UNGODLY reason you cannot defib dead bodies. Well one day down, already to the NE with group. Just awaiting start of day 2. Can you survive for DayZ?
