So every time an experimental version is launched. My servers list just blanks...I'm left with only about 6-7 experimental servers on my list with super high ping. I didn't opt in for experimental at all.

Thank you! :)

I don't know about ye guys, but I love the new U.N Helmets and Berets! I always take them and put them on, in hope people will see me as more of a peaceful player. I mean...The big blue head is easy to spot, so that means they're not trying to sneak up and kill people! I think it should be players who wear these berets/helmets should be considered as players who kill for self defense. Not actively kill. Can we make this a thing? Hahaha
-
They're hostile if they don't respond to your speech, if they stalk you, if they're spotted shooting somebody or capturing somebody, and obviously if they shoot at you. Though everyone should be assumed as hostile to be honest...I suppose in the end of the day you can't trust anybody.

I like when people dress the way they wan't to be picked up as in the game. Like dressing as a true survivor. But sadly people just think, guy, danger *shoots*; Whatever you wear. That's why I liked the U.N head gear. It's very easy to spot and if it becomes a thing...Then perhaps a good way not being shot on sight and making friends!

Why is development time being poured into more new towns?
GenericSurvivor replied to uberfrag's topic in General Discussion
Right now...I think the biggest problem is the zombies going through walls. THE biggest problem. Totally ruins the game. I know it's in Alpha but why not focus most of the efforts on that huge problem? The amount of towns right now is good! Maybe one far north, center of the map would be good. But then that's it. -
So I just created this to hear peoples stories, for a bit of a read. Have you ever had a moment, in DayZ that just made you so damn angry? I've just had an experience like this. I was in that new unnamed town, you spawn in, west of Svetlojarks. I spent a good half hour just looting and gearing up. When I finished, I headed east towards Svetlojarks, with everything I needed; including a green&black camo Mosin. I decided to pop into a barn, to see if I could find a lantern; I found one! I was delighted, knowing I have everything I need! But of course in DayZ...everything good comes to an end. I turned to head down the stairs; and boom. I dropped down, after the glitch made me walk in air, instead of walk down the stairs. Dead. However, I was extremely lucky, and I spawned in the same town! I decided to head down to the same barn, to pick up my gear. When I arrived, my body was there, with everything! But of course again...everything good comes to an end; my body was un-lootable. The anger took me, and my finger hit ESC and down to disconnect, and from disconnect to exit; Effectively rage quitting. The glitches in the game, are far more frustrating than anything else. Yes it is Pre-Alpha, and yes they are to be expected; but that doesn't mean we can't share rage stories! The falling glitches, the fall damage levels, the zombies through walls, and the zombies hitting you when they strike in another direction, are the most frustrating in my opinion. So folks! Share them stories! I could do with a good pick me up, laughing at other peoples misfortune!

Are we all agreeing that zombie through walls, fall damage problem and zombie hit targets are massively frustrating? -

And with the wood axe it takes 3-4 hits to the damn head to kill a zombie. Damn...how can people be that cold?! -

Desyncing, then rubber banding back to where you stared, and having "My clothes are damp with blood" on the screen, and a zombie clawing your nutsack off. 10/10 - would rage again. -
Dayz players evolving together with the game

I think it's because when you KOS...you don't gain anything but zombie agro, people noticing you're there and wasted ammo. -

Yeah that too! A zombie claws at you once, when you have a raincoat+chest pouches...Boom everything ruined. The damage mechanics are a very big problem, and nobody is shining a light on it. -
I tend to avoid all players. I shoot players with their weapons out. If their weapons are on their backs I try get as close as I can and if they run or try take it out after I tell them 'hands up' I drop them. I avoid ALL new spawns since they have absolutely nothing to lose. But if I do come across one I keep a very far distance and if they walk towards me they die. But then again I have ran across some people in the military camp in nw airfield that just say 'hey, sup' and continue looting (even though both of us have our weapons out) but we can't predict everyone is that friendly. So yeah...that's how I handle it.

What I predict DayZ will achieve by the end of the year.
GenericSurvivor replied to TheWizard14's topic in General Discussion
Hopefully the announcement and showing of H1Z1 will be the boot to make them work that extra bit harder. You'd think almost 31million dollars would help the development speed up. -
I know there will be player buildings in the game but what would be even better is being able to cut wood and get boards...then use the boards with the hammer and add nails to board up windows and doors in houses and apartment blocks! It would be amazing having a group of 6 just creating a compound of buildings. Also add a diary! Like the mod. But you could write in it and when you're killed it will be found on your body. It will add far more emotion to killing people. You could kill what looks like a bandit only to find out he's been helping people. Also like the mod building sandbags lockable doors and what not and safes. hidden safes and camo nets.
-
But barricade existing buildings in chernarus! Not your own player created buildings. You can't write notes because apparently they're afraid of bad language and racist things...same with spray paint. What do you expect in a post apocalyptic wasteland? Theres bound to be extreme groups of people.

I used to rage and being killed but no. I don't mind being killed in a fire fight or even KOS'd anymore. However, I HATE when some new spawn sees you with gear and fist/glitch runs to you faster than you can run and knocks you unconscious in one punch and robs all of your gear. I HATE when somebody glitch cuffs you when you're running or walking and robs all of your gear and last I HATE when I'm flung through a wall and dropped from a heigh from a building and killed. Now in all fairness it is a Pre Alpha or Alpha...But damn still these things make me more frustrated than anything. Especially knowing my well earned gear that took hours/days to get was lost to minges who spoil the game...Use the games faulty mechanics in Alpha to fuck over people. The only good thing that came out of being knocked unconscious in a highly populated fresh spawn area is seeing them all fist each other to death for a whole hour for my gear. Literally spawning and spawning and fighting over my loot. I'm sure you've all experienced this in some way...Feel free to share your stories.

Most frustrating Parts in DayZ/

I don't mine their intentions it's just that the one hit to the head knocks everyone out instantly and that they can do it with complete ease even with a gas mask and helmet. -
Teleportation and loss of control
GenericSurvivor replied to ChristmasLunch's topic in General Discussion
Yes! I was taking out two fresh spawns who were looting my body and Just after taking out one and finishing one...Boom...back to spawn slowly very slowly turning around with no keys working and having to leave the game. -
You can't kill rabbits with melee weapons. This is the worst thing to happen in gaming history.

This is not what I hoped DayZ would be
