I was up in the tower in Vybor and I was looking around and saw this guy staring back at me. Creeps me out. http://imgur.com/7vI0irC

This was in the mod? Neat!

The day in the life of an utter expert
Samuri_Bake_Pie replied to mooky32's topic in General Discussion
Guys, I wanna tell you about the time I did something similar to this! I was in the military base by Vybor and my friend and I walked into the front gates and he was shot out of no where. I hid behind the building and used magical 3rd person to locate my 3 foes. All I had was an M4 with an Acog and 180 something rounds give or take. I was surely out gunned and numbered. I used my master knowledge of the base to flank them, they were slowly moving towards my old position. Using pure skill and concentration, I double tapped a guy in the back. As he went down, I could almost hear them screaming in skype. I retreated to the bushes and hid in the middle where no one could see me. As they ran by I waited, and watched. They fled the base north, headed along the tree line to Vybor, I stalked them until they reached a small shed where they went inside. Knowing I had been spotted, I pulled out my gun, stepped out into the shed's opening and sprayed and prayed. Needless to say, they didn't have time to react as my pray and spray was so elite and masterful it took 4 bullets to kill them both. Then I looted them and rode off into the sunset on my chariot of fame. Goml plox. -
DayZ is NOT fun for new players, which makes me worried.
Samuri_Bake_Pie replied to Murakamo's topic in General Discussion
A lot of people have touched on this concept, but it really is all about the person playing the game. 50% of the gamer population right off the bat if there was a demo for the game would not buy DayZ (talking about people who did not purchase Alpha) because it is an anti-game sandbox that is extremely tough. There is no help unless you have a dedicated friend and you yourself are dedicated enough to learn it. The learning curve for this game is about a week of playing the game if you like the game, if not then yes, running around for hours can seem wasteful for you and may take you months to get far enough to enjoy the game then you die 2 days later and ragequit. When you can die with a full kit of stuff and were doing pretty well and can say oh look, fresh spawn woot, THEN you can officially say you are a hardcore player pf the game. -
Before I begin, I am NOT against anti-cheat, I have never encountered them because I didn't play the mod, but I have heard of them and they made me mad in CoD. My primary concern is the game is still in Alpha. This seems obvious, but I cannot tell you how many times i have ran through walls, duplicated gear, teleported places, one hit killed stuff I shouldn't have, gone back in time, etc. I'm not complaining, but can anyone confirm that this anti-cheat will only ban people who are actually hacking and not experiencing Alpha? I'm worried that if I log on and I run through too many walls because of Alpha or something I'm going to get banned, and I'm not a hacker. PS: I read BE's site but other than it telling me it check my files for hacks and stuff like that in super techy wording, I didn't understand how it works. I am not complaining, I'm just asking.

*Long Post* The Intuition System and how it can work within DayZSA (Read before flaming)
Samuri_Bake_Pie replied to Slyguy65's topic in General Discussion
I like this idea, however as previously mentioned I see this no matter how carefully crafted, will be abused. Also, seeing as how I normally KoS to save myself from future KoS (not the place to argue my methods) I do occasionally help out Bambis and not kill people, which is more closely related to how a real apocalypse would go. 99% of the KoSers here (including myself) wouldn't have the balls to kill another person within a few months of an apocalypse for a fact. It takes a lot to take a human life, and although this is a video game, I find it hard to kill someone begging for their life with nothing but a fireaxe to pose a threat. -
I was wondering as well as to why it did this. After a bit of research, there are a few factors that can cause this. You could be standing or your breathing is off. Are you holding your breath before shooting? Another one is that this type of Mosin was actually manufactured with the bayonet on, so with it off, it decreases accuracy. Bipods can factor is as well.

DayZ is NOT fun for new players, which makes me worried.
Samuri_Bake_Pie replied to Murakamo's topic in General Discussion
Exactly what he said. Never played the mod, jumped right into it, got the system and west side of the map down in less then a day. Trying to find where my friends spawned is a hard thing. It's a difficult game, and if you friend took maybe 2 minutes to look at his surroundings and use the handy dandy online map, or simply googling DayZ Standalone map, he would be able to find where he was. Think about it, 6 months after an apocalypse you wont know where your friend is unless you were with him at some point. It's a realistic anti-game and I find this part challenging and useful. Not trying to be rude, but sometimes things have to be said. -
See I find myself in a tough spot. I'd like to say I'm a stone cold killer who will KoS anyone that poses a threat except new spawns. I have been camping a certain military base today and have taken out a total of 6 people. The first guy saw me and shot, so I had no issues killing him, and when he was just unconscious, I didn't hesitate to shoot him again, after I got my loot of course. The next two were a group, they both had their mosins out with scopes, and just looked like trouble. I think they heard me stalking them because they went inside a shed and waited. I simply walked by and waved my gun inside holding down the left button and neither of them moved again. Again, no issues at all. The other two were just solo guys presumably server hopping and none of them talked to me. The last guy however, I shot him in the chest twice, but he didn't die. He fell unconscious and I heard him talking and asked me how he could get better to prevent what just happened in the future. THEN, I felt really bad for killing a noob. He didn't even know how to load his 40 round clip into his M4 so i just took his clip away, bandaged him, used my defibrillator, gave him some supplies, and sent him on his way after giving him some advice. Under normal circumstances, he would have pulled out his fireaxe and had at me while I was putting away the defibrillator but he was new. Is it just me, or when players actually talk, and aren't complaining or ranting and hating at you, do you just get this feeling that you need to help them? It was not a good idea and could have gotten me killed, and I missed out on free food and stuff. I'm tempted to turn off player chat so this doesn't happen again XD

Let's talk about Perma Death (No Bug talk)
Samuri_Bake_Pie replied to rezinsky's topic in General Discussion
I forget who, but someone put it nicely. "As soon as you spawn in DayZ, you are already dead. Trying to avoid it and having fun while doing it is what it's all about" -
The point is you spawn on the coast and work your way inland to avoid people and get more loot.

## hour player lock / Gear locked to server!
Samuri_Bake_Pie replied to WarAndRuin's topic in General Discussion
This guy doesn't understand it. If I want to log onto a low population server to get something, ok. But that doens't mean I should have to keep all my stuff on that server. My friends arent there and I want to play with my friends. So, your idea will never work. I tried being nice but you just threw a 12 year old hissy fit. Lemme make this clear for you. YOUR IDEA WONT WORK. Have a nice day. -
## hour player lock / Gear locked to server!
Samuri_Bake_Pie replied to WarAndRuin's topic in General Discussion
Another one what? I told you why your idea wouldn't work and suggested a new one. I never personally insulted you or anything, no need to get all mad at me. I'm playing neutral. -
## hour player lock / Gear locked to server!
Samuri_Bake_Pie replied to WarAndRuin's topic in General Discussion
You had something, but you really didn't think it through. Too many factors will come up where people will falsely be locked out of playing for any amount of time. Fixing server hopping is one thing, locking people out for 24 hours is another. Fix server hopping so that players are punished for CONSISTENTLY switching servers for loot, hunting, or combat logging. Nuff said. -
The dumbest things you've ever done in DayZ.
Samuri_Bake_Pie replied to pythonmsh's topic in General Discussion
Dumbest thing I ever did was while my friend was afk tested to see if shooting a person's gun would hit them. Sadly it worked. My friend came back and wasn't happy -
It would be interesting if the player needed to rest in the game
Samuri_Bake_Pie replied to SuperCharged's topic in General Discussion
Resting is already in the game, you can hear yourself breathe heavily the more you run. Obviously its in alpha so it doesn't do much but I have had some friends claim after about 30 minutes of straight up sprinting they passed out. Also, you need to rest to fix your aim otherwise you'll be all shaking trying to shoot something -
Rarest loot currently in game?
Samuri_Bake_Pie replied to DevilDog (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I have found all the items mentioned multiple times so far except the green and blue puffy vest but I found the orange. Something I havn't seen mention is the TTsKO jacket. It holds 6 slots as opposed to normal 4 slot jackets. The combat knife is also pretty rare. -
"OooOOhh" - "That hurts..." Player groaning

Third person view removal from SA discussion
Samuri_Bake_Pie replied to lev's topic in General Discussion
That I understand, but I would still like to be able to see myself. Perhaps they could fix 3rd person so its not completely unrealistic? Say fixing it so you can see what first person sees and yourself and just barely to the sides of you, enough where you see yourself, but not around corners and up stairs? -
So does this mean we only will spawn on the East? I admit the west spawn was insane, I only spawned in the east once, but do I really have to walk all the way across the map to get to the west?

Third person view removal from SA discussion
Samuri_Bake_Pie replied to lev's topic in General Discussion
Having never played the mod and jumping straight into DayZ, I became dependent on 3rd person very early game. Thus said, I would get used to first person eventually and slowly over time adapt my playing strategy to work with first person. The thing I would miss most is being able to have my screen more stable while running for a long time, and seeing how bad-@$$ my character looks without having to hit tab. I also feel like if everyone has 3rd person is it really such a big deal? I mean I don't really mind either way, removing or keeping it, as long as everyone has it or doesn't. -
This is not what I hoped DayZ would be
Samuri_Bake_Pie replied to andrestor's topic in General Discussion
At first that was how I felt too. KoS seemed like a lame excuse to me for people to kill whoever they wanted like it was CoD. After a while you come to a point where I KoS if you have a gun, because 9/10 times you will be killed because you have a gun. If you don't have a gun however I'm just cautious and won't kill you unless you come too close to me despite warnings. I do not go out of my way to kill people, but the adrenaline from a fire fight is pretty cool....when you don't die. -
WHY ARE THERE NO RESTART WARNINGS !?
Samuri_Bake_Pie replied to ventzer0's topic in General Discussion
ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THAT??? -
Once they add more stuff KoS will decline. There will still be people who do it, but right now its everyone getting bored because there are only a few "endgame" items right now.

This is nice. People helping each other. I hope one day I run into you so I can high five you.
