    I've logged in to the wavy/blank screen also. All I've had to do is hit Esc and just click on video settings and it reverses it. As for dying, always try and log out in a safe area so when you log in you can deal with whatever glitch may be happening. (Again, Alpha...) Now, if you're server hopping trying to snipe someone, what likely got you was karma.
