Dayz community is awesome(ish) imho.

That's pretty much what happened to the Arma community aswell. Not saying it's all a bad thing. Since now there is actually people on the Arma 2 & 3 severs. -

To be perfectly honest with you, smart isn't the right word here. Afterall the forum "Search" function seems to be too complicated to some people. Or you just haven't seen too many communities. I could name one game right away, that probably has one of the most mature and smartest communities. -
game needs a patch with something to do
the_annoying_fin replied to dgeesio's topic in General Discussion
Ok, you want replies on the topic? Sure, they will NOT add content to the game before the old bugs are fixed. And you said somethin like "i paid for this...no content...blaablaablaa" Well, Dean himself said that you should NOT buy the game at this time. And judging from your posts, you do not seem to understand what ALPHA means. It means the game is being developed, and is miles and miles away from being finished. And yes, it is an valid suggestion to say "go play some other game." Since if you cannot find enough content from a game that is UNDER DEVELOPEMENT, you should rethink your plans. And just wait for the game to get updates. On a side note, you must have very little family left, or they have rejected you for your arrogant behaviour. But at least i want to spend my holidays with my family and friends. And so i totally understand if Dean and the other devs want too. AM I ANSWERING TO YOUR TOPIC ENOUGH? -

This pretty much sums it up, wraps it into nice package and sends this topic into "That's it, time to stop" category. Thruth is, this post just kicked OP in the nuts. Well done sir! -
This is exactly what i had in mind earlier today. And well, seeing as how we currently play on late summer/autumn. I would love to see summer, like real proper green summer. After all i know it has been done to Chernarus on Arma 2. In the ACR - Army of the czech republic -expansion. And man it looked good. As for regarding the Winter and footprints. I wouldn't like them dissappearing automatically. I mean, if there was snowfall or blizzard, or anything in between, or just really gusty winds (which blow the snow around) then i would see the footprints and other tracks dissappearing. That would really boost up the paranoia. Also, slower movement on deeper snow and all that. As for seasonal changes, 2 months irl, would mean the change of a season. Having all 4 seasons of course. So i give this idea a BIG CAN OF :beans:

You can wait them for quite a while then. I think they have other things with higher priorities. And when they come, there wont be that many, but you can wait for them say 3-5 months, give or take.

Bullet proof vests and Night Vision goggles.

It is true that soldiers often remove the plates. I remember my time in the finnish military, long treks with the plates on is a real burden. And other than that i agree, when they have some kind of weight system in the game. It is a bad idea. And when they do, they need to have some kind of weight to exhaustion ratio implemented too. Edit: Also, the ceramic plate is destroyed often after 2-4 shots from say a 7.62x39mm round. -

Not gonna hop into the NVG train, but instead focus on this. Do bear in mind that even tho bulletproof vests are able to stop the bullet, but it will still probably knock you down, brake your ribs or knock you unconcious, depending on the caliber. Military used chest and back plates on the other hand can take a much bigger caliber round, without braking your ribs or knocking you unconcious. But it will still, most of the time, knock you down. This is due to the sheer force that a bullet creates when it is stopped instantly. And regarding the helmets, they are designed to stop shrapnel from grenades, or rocks and debris flying around. Even small caliber hand gun rounds. But will never stop an Assault Rifle round. So, put them in, but make them behave realistic. -
Rocket said : Cannibalism will be eventually part of the game

But what if we all carry a virus (bitches love The Walking Dead). So when you consume human flesh, you get side effects (noob bandits be like "noooooo") such as shakiness, blurry vision time to time, some real proper hallucinations, both visual (zombies and all that freaky shit) and hearing voices (fuck yes, i love random screams inside my head). And after a period of time (1-2 days) from eating a human flesh, the side effects dissappear. Of course some of you lovely lot are gonna say "WHAT ABOUT BLOOD TRANSFUSIONS" And im gonna scream back "I SAID FROM CONSUMING HUMAN FLESH" -
Tbh, i think there should be a some VERY BADLY DAMAGED CARS. Which you need hundreds of parts to repair, plus you need the appropriate tools (many of them). Since you can't really fix the whole car, from chassis to engine, with a screwdriver and a wrench, can you now? Adding special glue to install windshields, jack to lift the car when changing tires, lot of lever to fasten the bolts on the tires. Not to mention the power needed for starting up the car. Or option to do a rolling start with someone pushing the car. When they add vehicles, it should be a real pain in the ass to get them fixed, as it is in real life. Just so that faster travel needs a lot of effort.

Bodies vanishing after killing them
the_annoying_fin replied to Mays (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Well, this has been a topic quite a few times, but banditing shouldn't only consist of KoS and this "lol, did you see that, how awesome was that, i hit him from 60 METERS, CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT" but instead bandits could restrain people, rob them and drain their blood. I shouldn't be killing only, killing only is for noobs. A true bandit has his victim restrained, on his knees and begging for his life. -
Well, assuming it's overall, not just zombies. It might be the simple fact that kids are more defenceless than adults. And that goes for handicapped ADULTS also, it's considered just as bad as killing kids. Correct me if im wrong
