  1. On the subject of full vs empty servers- I try to ignore (don't look at) the population of a server. I actually wish I could hide this when looking for a server to join. I choose based on time of day (don't like playing at night) and ping. I'm not looking for PVP interaction but also not looking to avoid it. I find there's a certain amount of excitement/nervousness not knowing how many people are in the game I'm playing. Each time I enter a game I don't know if I'm surrounded by other players or the only human alive. It still makes me play smart/safe and for me, pulls me deeper into the world. I do understand for those who are looking for PVP it makes more sense to look for full servers. It's just not what I'm looking for in this game. I don't loot so I can jump on a full server fully geared up. Any loot I happen on is used only for survival/protection. If I see another player I either avoid them or try to be friendly. This of course has cost me several times lol. I look forward to the day when zeds and predators even things out and make the decision to fire on another survivor a much more risky one. my .02

It would be nice if it were something that could be forced/restricted server side. That way people could choose a server based on their pc specs.

    Stuck underneath

Happened to me today. Made the mistake of logging out inside one of those green/red houses with the stairs on the outside (no downstairs). Anyway, logged in today and I was stuck underneath the house. I ended up going prone and crawling out. Pretty happy it worked cause I had about 40 hours in that character. Of course about a hour later I came across 2 assholes who kos'd when I clearly had my hands raised. And that's how it goes..... ;)
  5. Been friendly to everyone I've met but I guess I would defend myself if cornered and no option to run. Not going to risk starting a gun fight when they could have buddies around (I run solo). Have about 50 hours in and haven't killed any players and have only been killed by another player once (second day playing). Been held up once (surprised him/he didn't take anything) and I've been shot at while looting but escaped. I do worry about how I'm dressed though (camo jacket/vest and brown pants with a M4).

    Why everyone is soo unfriendly?

Bought the game Christmas Eve (never played the mod) and have just over 31 hours played so far. I've died 4 times. Only once by another player after I was fully geared looting the NWAF. I did manage to get away from someone shooting at me after I hung around looting a town too long. I haven't killed any players and only plan to as a last resort (if they try to kill me first). I've been held up by someone looking for food/water (I had neither). He told me to go on my way but I asked him I follow me to a well I knew about near by first. I've run into a handful of friendlies. One ran up on me not wearing much clothing and bleeding so I gave him my shirt (I didn't have any bandages) so he could tear it up and use to treat himself. I surprised someone who was looting a top floor of one of the military bases when I had no gear. She gave me a quick whack and then apologized once she saw I wasn't a threat. She then led me to some gear before saying goodbye. Tonight while looting a town I saw a player running from a group of zombies. I ran to see if I could help. He was in bad shape/bleeding with only a shovel to defend himself. I took out the 4 zombies chasing him and gave him bandages/food/2 water bottles a extra compass I had and a screw driver to open the food. He thanked me and we went our separate ways. I try to pickup items (like an extra compass) incase I run into another player in need. IMHO while I don't ever see myself being a bandit I'm thankful they're out there. It keeps me on my toes. Until they make the zombies more of a challenge, bandits are the only real (difficult) danger. Even after the zombies are ramped up I still like the idea of those bandit bastards hunting me. No zombie is gonna handcuff me, strip me down and force feed me drain cleaner. That's entertainment right there. Plus I don't think I'd have as much fun if I knew every person a ran into was friendly. It makes me feel better helping people partly because I'm risking something doing so. -Rich

    New and hooked

Greetings- this is the end of day 2 for me. First day I played for about 2 hours without dying. Wasn't sure if I really liked the game or not but figured I'd try to get my $30 worth. So I started today a little earlier and ended up starving to death about 2 hours in. I respawned and started makin my way north. Tried to avoid anyone I saw, listening to the advice I read online. I had one gentleman run up on me, he was only wearing a nice set of whitey-tighties and bleeding pretty badly. I took my shirt off (no homo) and let him tear it up for bandages. Don't think he had a mic but gave me a wave and we went our separate ways. I made my way north hangin in the tree lines and popping out to loot any small farms/neighborhoods that I came across. Came up on a castle (now know that it was devils castle) that was pretty cool. Pulled up the map on my ipad to get my bearings (never did find the in game map) and saw there was an airfield to the west of the castle. I hadn't found a gun yet so I thought I'd take my chances. I read that bases/airfields can be pretty dangerous. After a good hike I made it to the airfield. Looked clear so I went building hoping and loaded up. Camping backpack, tactical vest, m4, pistol (I forget which one). Headed north of the airfield and found a large group of military tents. As I was looting 2 other fellas were doing the same. After a quick greeting (please don't kill me) we said goodbye. Now I'm going on almost 9 straight hours of gaming and about to call it a night. I check a couple more tents and found a silencer and mag for my m4. I think sweet! Time to head back into the woods and exit out. Just as I'm walking out the gate I hear a loud pop. I'm bleeding...... Someone shot me! I tried to dip into the trees and patch myself up but he tracked me down and finished me off.... 9+ hours down the drain... That POS!!! I kept thinking as I was playing yesterday and then today that it didn't seem as bad/crazy as I had read about. I ran into some peeps without any problems. Walked for what I thought was a pretty good distance on only my second day. I thought- where were all these thieving a$$hats that people were warning about? Well- thank you mr thieving a$$hat for welcoming me to the game and solidifying which side bandit/survivor I'll side with. Enjoy the goodies you took from my corpse. I'll try to be better prepared for you next time. Most of all thank you for showing me what a great experience this game is going to be. Can't remember the last time I played a game for 9 hours. -Rich
