Shroom!

So, I'm a convert from the Standalone to the mod. Gotta love those Steam sales. Anyway, I've been playing Epoch for just over a week and discovered last night, to my dismay, that the roof of my little forest shack does not keep the rain out. My fire stayed lit for about 20 minutes, then fizzled out and refused to stay lit again. Is there any way to stop the rain, or will I just have to board up an existing barn and live in there if I want to stay dry?

I was just saved by a really friendly member of their team. Highly recommended service! :)

OK, so I have a weird problem. Last night, after being killed in Cherno, my freshly spawned self was running down the coast, when somehow (well, I know exactly how) I got involved in a 3 way fist fight with 2 freshly spawned girls. I got knocked out, but instantly woke up. Somehow, I was now a black woman instead of a white man. I had only seconds to think "What?", before two guys with guns ended my life. By then it was late, so I logged off. I just logged in now, and I am still a black woman. I changed it back to a dude, clicked Set Default, but then it just changes back to a woman. Is this a known bug, and is there a current fix?

SInce the update, no matter what server I go into, I am walking automatically and I can't find a way to stop it. It happens while standing, crouching or prone. Is it happening to anyone else, and if so did you find a fix? Cheers.

Yesterday I was trying to meet up with a couple of people on the forum in a server. We were quite far apart but running towards each other. I stopped off at the airfield for a quick loot and some of the nearby water, where I ran into a human. He was hungry and I had beans to spare, so I gave him some. He then warned me that a zombie was behind me, so I turned around and killed it with my axe, half expecting the guy to kill me now that my back was turned. He didn't, so I felt I could trust him and accepted his offer to team up, provided he followed me to meet the other guys I was meant to meet. Then we heard "Oooooogabooogaboooogaaaaa!!!" over and over on the voice chat. Scared us both shitless for a second. Not very far off was a dude standing there, arms in the air and swaying side to side (How was he doing that?). We laughed, and he said "Oh, did I scare you guys? I think I scared myself.... Ooooooogabooogabooga!!" and off he ran down the runway, arms still swinging as his voice trailed until he was gone. After this amusing encounter, myself and my new compadre went for a quick slurp at a well and continued along the coast. We'd been running for a solid five minutes, when one of the guys I was meant to meet told me on Steam chat that he'd met someone else, so we stopped in an opening amongst some trees and I told my new buddy we were free to go wherever we wanted, and he could choose. He decided he wanted to respawn and meet up with one of his friends and asked me to kill him. I couldn't make out what he said at first and was wondering why he was kneeling in front of me. Again, he said "Kill me", and again I couldn't make it out. His audio was crackling, y'see. After a few more times I finally understood what he wanted me to do, asked him if he was really sure he wanted me to kill him, and he said yes. I started hacking at his neck with my fire axe. I was two chops in when I heard a voice... "Hey guys what's up? Hey! Oh, wait... are you.. you are... you're killing that guy?". By the time he had ended his sentence, my third chop had ended the life of my former buddy. I turned around and there was a dude with his fists up, right in my face. Before I even had time to react, the guy punched me repeatedly and knocked me out. I was midway through saying "Stop! He ASKED me to kill him!" when my screen went black. And so ended that adventure. I really love the random human encounters in this game. Looking forward to coming across more weirdos :)

Has there been a patch today? I just noticed that I now run up & down stairs quickly, instead of slowing to a walk every time.

Hi there. I've been playing the Standalone for a few days now and I'm looking for someone to survive with. My experiences with random encounters haven't been very friendly so far. I played for 7 hours until I came across a human. All I had was a shovel and some food, and I saw a guy running towards me with his shovel out. I turned to face him and he ran away, so I followed him. I found him hiding under a porch and as soon as I saw him, I stopped and waved. He instantly whacked me in the face with his shovel and I started running away, with him persuing. After a minute, I decided to face my aggressor and ran back towards him and killed him with two hits with my shovel while he missed me completely. He had a much bigger backpack than I had, and a load of really good stuff. I lingered too long over his corpse, sorting through his gear, though. A bullet rang at my feet while I was still in the inventory. I started running for my life but soon enough some bullets found their mark in my back and I was dead. I'm guessing whoever killed me had been watching my fight with the previous guy. So, does anyone out there want to team up some time and watch each other's backs?

I've really been enjoying it for my first few days. Yeah, it is buggy, but it's really immersive. It's the perfect escape, and it's only going to get better and better. I'd say if you have the money and a decent enough PC, go for it.

I have the FX-8320 and it seems quite beastly, I must say.
