Mouse swiping movement instead of mouse click for melee?
battlerhd replied to CGNoodlePot (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
I can only imagine the cluster fuck of problems that would cause on this engine and any future one tbh, I'd much rather them to just fine tune what we already have -
All the fine tuning like that wont be added anytime soon I imagine, although it is a necessity in a game like this

Should I purchase DayZ: Standalone?
battlerhd replied to Bonersaurus Rex's topic in New Player Discussion
If you enjoy piss poor performance and completely unreliable game mechanics then go for it, I suggest play with some friends to liven the experience -
I have no idea what to do... (help please)

What are your specs -
Does anyone else think this is a very pointless feature they added? Every time my gun is pointed up all I see is a little man smiling at me in the middle of the screen and it completely destroys immersion in my opinion. Even though I've never used them in PvP yet I'm assuming when the moving part goes in the middle of the two dashes its roughly where your shot is going to land, making it partly a wired aiming assist feature. The simple dot in the middle was fine, the new brackets are fine but this is just unnecessary. Shooting from the hip shouldn't be accurate it is only necessary when you are up close and personal, I can't understand the thought process behind these decisions.

They still spawn, just sometimes they are placed slightly underground so you can only see the top of them. Makes it hard to spot
-
I don't agree with you all that often but on this I sure do, simple or none at all is the best way.

I think you should be able to drag bodies like in Arma 3, It's a very realistic feature that would add a lot of immersion in the game. Your dead or unconscious buddy could be in an open field and dragging him to cover would be the best chance for survival assuming he isn't dead already and if he is then you could loot his gear safely in a bush or behind cover. Can you imagine how cool it would be in first person to be dragging your buddy across a field while taking shots and your other friend is giving covering fire all in an effort to save his life. This would be a great iteration to the game

Loot right now is still bugged as you can tell from the guard houses, I haven't seen a plate carrier since the update just the pouches are sometimes at the guard house. My guess right now would be to look everywhere.

If you a clan of 5 killing you with AK74's then Berezino is the place to be.

All these new wired bugs which stops you from shooting and putting stuff in your hands are just breaking the game right now, I know its alpha but when you need to log in and out to shoot a weapon or put something in your hand it gets silly to constantly use that excuse in my opinion at least. I know we have exp for testing but there must be some kind of other tests before it goes out on stable, I just wounder how these bugs get through that are so obvious you know them all within 20 minutes of game time. I must admit I was really salty today about getting killed when I had this bug as the situation was 100% to my advantage, He was in a bush 1 meter in front of me without him knowing I was there so I go to shoot and yeah you guessed it I couldn't aim down sight as I was bugged, after hearing me rustling about in the grass he lit me the fuck up with his suppressed AK. RIP I can get over the death and gear easily its just I think these are the kind of bugs that need a hot fix fast.

UI concept - the many possibilities of a modular inventory
battlerhd replied to DaleCooper's topic in Suggestions
This one personally reminds of H1Z1 with the bit in the middle, but I think it needs to way more simpler than this. The one we have now is good they just need to fix how unresponsive it is then i think it will be fine. -
These new bugs are the real game breakers!
battlerhd replied to battlerhd's topic in General Discussion
I never said I thought it should be 100% bug free, I know there will be lots of bugs in alpha and beyond. I was talking about the painfully obvious bugs -

battlerhd replied to battlerhd's topic in General Discussion
I could of easily done some damage to something at that point :P I just think to my self, I had the bug if it wasn't for that then he would of been dead. Keeps me calm 90% of the time xD -

I'm pretty sure the devs are aware of these bugs, and I am also fully aware the forums are here to help. I don't believe this post could be represented as me hating on the dev team, I love Dayz thus why I keep playing it no matter what the bugs are like. -
Meh. The loot in the build was just silly, running around for 3 hours to find nothing is not fun in my opinion.
-
Having a full map at hand and GPS would take out the adventure side of the game, getting lost when going to places you've never been is part of the experience for newer players and to be honest it's exciting coming across a random town that you didn't know was there when you are lost.

I think the loot needs to be changed. I'm all for survival but spawning in Cherno, looting every single building and then running to Balota to find only 1 can of Pepsi is a bit silly. There needs to be enough food in coastal towns to survive long enough to get to other locations in the map. Right now I think its bugged because on private servers (I was on private when I could not find anything) there is just books, some clothes and nothing much else, no food or water to last long enough. On public servers the loot seems to be better, there is enough to survive that at the least. I actually think the loot in 0.54 was fine, it was enjoyable to loot up then because you could find things, a lot of people might say you're not always meant to find things and that it's meant to be a hard survival game. I agree with all that but right now it's a boring survival game and not enjoyable, with the new strong zombies I think if they just lowerd to loot a tiny bit then it would of been fine.

New update broken? I'll try to be constructive
battlerhd replied to Vattenlarv's topic in General Discussion
Yes loot on private servers is silly at the moment, I went into a low pop to test this knowing it had not been looted and got a Cherno spawn. In the time I looted all of Cherno and ran to Balota food and drink wise all I found was 1 Pepsi, and that was in the airfield. I didn't make it to the prison island because of starvation. For me the loot system they had was fine, there was a decent amount spawning everywhere and it was enjoyable to play. At the moment on private when you are a freshie, It's just bad and simply not enjoyable. -
Has anyone managed to get a disease yet?

When you have low blood, thats when you're most likely to catch anything -
the reaction to mass amounts of zeds worry me
battlerhd replied to gannon46's topic in General Discussion
It's not that bad in my opinion, you just can't run around towns anymore. I just think they should have gone with zombies being really strong but kinda slow, or really fast and weaker. They went for the super fast and super strong zombies which is not a totally bad thing, It makes the game a lot more interesting than before. -
I can't understand why they changed all of them to suck so bad at opening cans of food.
-
I can understand that, but it is really quite easy to open all of a can with a knife, so opening a can with one should be good not matter how much they want to put value on the can opener

Chernarus is like a 2nd home, I think playing Dayz on a different map would feel right for me
