I adore all-seeing turbozombies, packs of them, endless hordes. this is how it should be -
but killing disconnecters is such a pleasure. if you can calculate the place where they will connect. especially if it's some ghillie fuckers with m107, sniping harmless people in Cherno and disconnecting right away

I would never understand what's the point of playing pvp game, if you're afraid to get killed by other players. a decent number of people stoically take the fire and play the game. but the majority disconnects on every sign of a threat. I hope there will be some anti-pvp zombie mmorpg soon, for all these people specifically. so they all could leave Chernarus once and for all

NVG's has to go. or supplied with limited rare batteries. other than that, try going into big town, in pack of three people, where only one has a flashlight. lighting the way for all three, surrounded by growls from the darkness. leaves extremely strong impressions. and yeah, this topic belongs to "night is too fucking dark" -
pluses: *perfect to spot enemies, on any distance (general purpose of this gun) *uses STANAG ammo (pretty common and easy to find) *burst fire + long range scope (sniping machine gun, heh) *manual zeroing (up to 800 m.) *accepts the STANAG SD (can be heard by other players, but does not alert zeds) (thanks to WalkerDown for protip) *has a laser (can be seen with NVG) minuses: *way less precise than sniper rifles, not intended for long range fight *narrow sight, wich makes you helpless on close distances (if the server has no crosshair) *loud overall, weapon of choice for spotter if you have a teammate, who can cover you while you check the horizon

I would go for more weapons. hundreds of them, modifications, different ammo types, etc. ARMA community has done a great job on modeling any kind of weapon you could possibly imagine but they all should spawn only at crash sites

the way to work out the "off the map problem" is to make these in-game territories quarantine zone. on attempt of passing beyond the walls surrounding Chernarus you get extreminated by drone or blown up on the infinite minefield -

I came to the same thought. if people use vehicles just to get to their tent camps outside the game zone, wouldn't it be reasonable to wipe the vehicles out? I play for a month, and I haven't ever seen any choppers or cars passing by. not a single time or just build a wall outside the map. like, it's a quarantined infected zone we are playing in -

1.) melee weapons is hard (if possible at all) to implement into ARMA's engine. it was supposed for other things. 2.) zombies aren't that challenging. play different, adapt. -

in Russia, firearms are banned. you wouldn't find NVG's either. it is "unrealistic" only if you are stocked up for Ragnarok. if you have a bulletproof vest, few rifles, and a barrel of oil - good for you. but most people relay on chances and have no such things. so, starting off with only a flashlight is actually very "realistic"
