What exactly do ballistic helmets stop
Lemonater47 replied to chasieboy317's topic in General Discussion
They will not stop a 5.56 or a 7.62 direct hit. It has to be glancing. And the bigger the bullet the bigger the angle. It doesn't stop pistol bullets close range either. And even if you do survive it you still get damaged but you don't bleed. I knocked a dude unconscious with a long range fluke pistol headshot but he didn't bleed. First time I got to use handcuffs properly too lol. 7.62 can go through a cinder block wall and a steel military tower in this game and in real life. How is a helmet gonna stop it. -
Item list for items with limited to no use + Tips and Rumors
Lemonater47 replied to IIvIIozzie's topic in General Discussion
When I got a chest holster I could put anything it in. Not just a pistol. Though that was day one release. I didn't see any patch notes changing it though. -
What if they increase the sound of the coast by so much that it deters noob bandits who shoot fresh spawns.

Never had a mountain backpack. Now I know to avoid it if I don't need it.

On the steam page it says construction will be a feature in the future.

Do you think the WOUNDING SYSTEM is realistic enough?
Lemonater47 replied to theshooter's topic in General Discussion
I got shot in the head and survived wearing nothing on my head. Second bullet got me though. Execution gone wrong. It was fucking funny though. Guy had to reload as it was his last bullet. I went to run away from my execution. Didn't m get far. I probably would have passed out not long after. I went instant grey. -
how do you approaching to the strangers besides im FRIENDLY
Lemonater47 replied to gamer222's topic in General Discussion
Yelling at them works better than talking nice to them. If you try and be nice they run off and do something stupid and you are forced to shoot them. Its 50 50 as to whether or not they comply. But I always try and put myself in he better position before I talk to them. Don't know why they run or whatever. I do get to walk up to them and call them an idiot. One guy said I was a bandit ruining the game. I asked the guy 3 times to drop his gun and he DID hear me but he sprinted to go for cover. Though if I knock them out I bandage them up and take their weapons so when they wake up they are largely harmless. They still have fists. But yeah screaming "GET ON THE FLOOR MOTHERFUCKER" works way better. Only once has someone done something dumb. They fired in my general direction. They also don't question you at all. Sometimes I will ask for supplies from weapon less or melee only people. And if they don't give me anything I rob them. I tell them to strip all their clothes and bag on the ground which sounds strange but hey I can loot everything easier. Though sometimes things seem to go under the ground and they get left with no pants after in done. And by rob them I swap stuff usually that I don't need learnt all on the ground make sure they don't have a weapon and away they go. And I will absolutely handcuff someone if I have them and keys. I hardly shoot them straight off. Unless I'm forced too. And only to knock them out and apologise later. Though you don't know how much blood they have so you can sometimes kill them. Meh. The player I shot would have probably killed me without a second thought. But I try and keep my killing to a minimum. Only bandits die by my hand. Unless its an accident. Or they are full on retarded. -
How about Balota airfield military loot getting removed?
Lemonater47 replied to Twixxer's topic in General Discussion
The games focus was need PVP but surviving. And bandits are a challenge to you surviving. At balota there should be less. Because you should go up north to find the better stuff. But there should still be chances of assault rifles there. Just not as much stuff there. Balota airfield well any airfield really is a haven for bandits. Near cities you usually know where they all sit. But at balota they can be anywhere and anywhere is beneficial for mindless killing. Killing randoms in this game isn't fun to me. Killing bandits is alright. More fun talking to people and setting goals. The interaction between players. I rob people. Old school bandit. But I usually ask first. Just if I need something I will tell them to strip down if they don't give it to me first to see if they have want I want. Though sometimes the stuff goes through the ground so I've just told someone to strip and now they have no clothes. But really. Shooting a new spawn is silly. I only shoot people if they become a direct threat to me and I can't do anything else. And that rarely happens. Usually you can move or hide then stalk them and talk to them. But in a building and some nasty looking dude with an M4 comes along and well. Talking doesn't solve your problems often. I'll knock them unconscious hopefully without killing them and patch them up. But there's a bit too much good military year at the B airfield at the moment. Should be a tad less. You should see how much gear there is at server restart. You can have a small army. -
Realism and Weapons [Balanced or Realistic?]
Lemonater47 replied to ProGamerGov's topic in General Discussion
100 metres with a pistol is stretching it a tad but possible. Though you wouldn't hit a stationary person over and over consistently. -
Well it depends If you hire a group of monkeys or trained specialists.

Dude I found a guy reading a book. I see this guy prone in some bushes and ask him what the hell he's doing. He says reading a book. We chat for a bit and I ask him to join me but he says no so I leave him there. Play for a while get off come back almost 4 hours later and pass the same spot and he's still there. Same guy not AFK. He says to me "its a good book". I ask him to blood bag me but he says he'll lose his page. So I eventually find someone else to do it and die because I had the wrong blood type. Didn't know about blood types. But yeah people actually read books.

Realism and Weapons [Balanced or Realistic?]
Lemonater47 replied to ProGamerGov's topic in General Discussion
This is the realism survival game. There are plenty of other games you can play if you don't want this. And I ain't a brony and I will want realism and stuff. Mr mazzar. You just need the patience. Also I don't play bandit as its boring. Bandit hunter is much more fun. Stalk someone see what they do if they are a bandit or not. After you are kitted up and all. But don't missed people. Rob people. Well ask first then rob people. But I often follow groups of players to study what they do. Some are friendly groups those most are bandit kill squad groups. The. You just pick them off one by one constantly changing your position. You can make them think they are up against more than one enemy. Especially if you change your weapon. Way more fun and interesting game with far more things that can happen. If it were balanced it would be far more of a gun battle with no communication with anyone. -
Ban the zombies for hacking.

Consider prioritizing this in upcoming fixes.
Lemonater47 replied to johnm81's topic in General Discussion
In melee you really have to go for the head. You can kill a zombie with 2 whacks in the head with a pipe wrench or 10 whacks in the body. Its all about aim and you really got to be in first person in melee. Though the axe is at the moment the best melee weapon I think. Its pretty good. -
Lol this pappy dude must be a kid too. The dayz devs can't do anything. When you live stream a multiplayer game you are gonna get greifer. Especially in this game it you live stream being in a kill squad which is what sacriel and his clan buddies are. They get geared up and shoot people. So naturally they piss a lot of people off. They haven't progressed past the Kill on site bandit stage yet.

I had this weird thing in the mod where I ran into two others at balota airfield. It was kinda dark and I was crouching through bushes near the industrial area and the end of the airfield. We all had guns. And all we did was yell at each other no shots fired. I had that military semi auto shotgun the M1014 with slugs and the other two had an M16 and an MP5. I could have knocked both of them out with one shot too. We teamed up and found this guy with a broken leg at the industrial area who was actually stalking me the whole time but a zombie broke his leg. So we made it our mission to go to cherno hospital and get morphine for him. We got to the hospital but had to break the glass as all medieval supplies outside had been taken and no one had gone in yet. So the guy with the MP5 the quietest gun did and we rushed in to get the morphine and we took several syringes and other supplies. We went to an apartment to see if we could get good and stuff as the sun had just gone down so people wouldn't really see us if there were any bandits. But then the zombies blocked the door on the way out. And then I fired my gun. All the zombies ever heard that. We tried holding them off but started to run out of ammo and were down to pistols. And we had come under fire from several different people with different weapons. No idea if they were trying to help or kill. We jumped out the back balcony as we were near the forums floor and we a broke our legs but had the morph one to fix ourselves. We escaped the zombies. And we found that the guy with the broken leg had crawled halfway to cherno almost with a broken leg. We fix him up find someone's car from a busy who wasn't happy about 4 dudes hopping in and taking it with sniper shots breaking two windows but we were fine. The. We had a head on collision with a bus and at least I died from it. They didn't have headlights on and we didn't see them. So if you use your words you can have fun little things like that happen to you. And that's why I play DayZ. Just watch out for busses at night with no headlights.

Nah bro this is an NZ accent. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIYvD9DI1ZA

Rocket has got an unfortunate accent. I'm a New Zealander and so is he apparently. But he sounds more Australian to me the way he talks. But its not quite Australian. Its just not a New Zealand accent. Or some strange kinda accent mixed with others. He was in the army and overseas but hat wouldn't change your accent much.

Pfft. Kill them? Make friends with them is what I do. Most of the time they are a friendly guy too. Being a bandit hunter is better than being a bandit. The ability rob people who also have guns is a good one. Only kill if you have too. Killing a new spawn for the reason that they might get gear and kill you is stupid. They are just gonna spawn again aren't they fools. Talking to them means that they will not kill you at all and no one needs to die. It you want to protect yourself use you words not your bullets. Bullets won't work. Hunting a kill squad is the best fun I've had. Especially when you find other player who have had run in's with that kill squad. Though there's no vehicles or C4. I loved stealing and breaking heir vehicles or setting traps with high explosives as they had like a 40m blast radius. First time I tried using it I blew myself up as I thought I was at a safe distance.
