It shouldn't take any of current slot, as its worn on the waist. As for the "unlimited inventory spaces", what if the more you carry the slower your character move, burn more energy and lose hydration?

Hi, How about adding Swiss knives to the game? It can at least be a can opener and maybe tear jeans/cargo pants into rags (T-shirts give you 2 rags, pants give you 4 or 6 rags maybe?) I can't see why it wouldn't fit the current game settings. Please make it happen.

I have a hack for you Hold Alt key then press F4 works all the time, trust me.

its not really cheating, you can't use the other tools in game. The only ones you can use is can opener and the knife/scissors for tearing rags (you can't even cut meat with that knife ;) )
