Is it more than that though? EVERY time I try to play with some imagination and interact with players or do something other than PVP I get shot in the back or smacked with a melee weapon by a guy I was helping when I am looking through my scope. This is why people just KoS. You spend 15 mins helping out a bambie only for him to kill you once he finally gets a weapon. And I have been to the NW plenty of times. Yeah its a hike, and you usually get sniped from some tree line or rock after a 45 min or more walk/run within 5 mins of getting up there which makes it seem not really worth it. My point was that the game in its current form really is just a big deathmatch. People are so on edge that they either KoS or "backstab" you for helping them. I realize its alpha, but thats why these discussions are had. So Rocket has things to consider going forward.

Just a quick question. Pretty much EVERY DayZ SA video I see on YouTube I see 'Player' uses modified game file pop up in red in the bottom left throughout the videos. Yet I have never seen it once. Is that from like a test server... or... what does it mean? Just curious.

Sounds really cool and all but there is no point learning parts of the map that have nothing but food, paper and jeans laying everywhere. You will never find social interactions or PVP in those places so whats the point? People run to the same places for a reason. They need to put some of these places in other parts of the map. I don't want to just avoid everyone I see either. Whats the fun in that? Once I get a full kit I go looking for bandits to hunt. If I die I do it all over again and learn something new everytime from my mistakes. Whats the fun in gearing out and just walking around avoiding people? I honestly want to know what is appealing about that so I can try it.

Yeah I am new to the game pretty much... well i never played the mod. But yeah this community has some of the biggest douches and epeen flexers. They just don't realize this game will never reach its true potential because of them but they pay no mind and never realize and just move on and ruin another game.

That begs the question of... "Why does this deserve a response?"

Yeah but the first person that sees you with an M4 will kill you and there is nothing you can do. And if you just travel around for hours and see no one it is just plain boring... sooo what do you do? I have recently been spawning there as well. 5 times in a row to be exact. I kept letting this same zombie kill me. Finally I landed in Elektro and was just like screw it just start from here. The map REALLY needs some work... sick of only seeing Cherno and Balota if you want to see action and actually join in.

Well yesterday I went to one of the hospitals in Cherno and started to run up to steps in perfect health and it suddenly said "You are dead" with a black screen. There was no gun shot or a place a sniper could see me. No zombie noises, and no players in melee range. And I watched to see if anyone was looting me to be sure. I straight up randomly died and still do not know why or what happened. Maybe you had something similar.

Appreciate the detailed ideas and you have put alot of thought into this. However I think making the "Player Health" type things alot more realistic and complicated may make things too convoluted. I appreciate the immersion it provides but it will get to a point where if you are damaged to a certain point you might as well just die and respawn in a fresh body because of how easy it is to gear up.

I have not had these problems. I usually spawn and fill up on water at a well then go gather food and weapons. I can sit and eat 3 or 4 cans of food and it says I am full again and I get a Healthy status. I have never had it take 20 minutes, that must be an exaggeration.

I see on YouTube videos where people die but then they respawn and run back to their bodies while their friends guard it. Anytime I log out or a friend logs out when dead their body always disappears... just like any baddies I kill. Is that like an earlier build that you could do that or is there a way to do it now? Most likely it ended up on the bottom floor of where you dropped it.

This happened to me earlier. I got in a gunfight on night server at market in North Cherno Towers. I killed the guy but I was bleeding and blurry, had no bandages or rags and only had a raincoat so couldn't rip it so I went behind a dumpster and dropped everything. Let a zombie finish me off then I luckily spawned in Cherno so I ran north and sure enough all my stuff was still there. So yeah it works. =)

Well i guess it is not everytime but I never played the mod so do not know exactly how it works. Love the idea of this game and the intensity of encounters with others but it seems about 65% of the time when I log on to my server I am a fresh spawn. Is there something I am doing or need to do before I log out to prevent this or is it just how this game is? It is making it hard for me to really get a feel of the environment and to find bugs to report when I have to start over all the time when I haven't even been killed. Any light shed is appreciated.

Well I normally play on the same server but the last time it happened the server was saying "No message received" with a timer counting up so I tried a different server but I guess the host kicked me out. When I went to go back on to my normal server my stuff was gone. However other times it was just simply when I logged in after getting home and I was a fresh spawn. Just assumed Im doing it wrong.

Granted the OP didn't do a good job of getting people to read his post or do anything to prevent them posting before reading but its not going to be very good for this game if every suggestion made people just say... Its Alpha... its just like... what is that, i dont even....

I am in Elektro and I was running up a scaffolding on side of building and I dropped off one of the ramps to the next level literally like 1 in game foot and it somehow broke my leg. Now I am crawling around trying to find morphine (right?) but it doesn't seem very practical.. it could take hours. I do not have any friends or squaddies as I just started playing the standalone alpha. Anyways, does anyone have any suggestions? Or is it crawl around until I hopefully find morphine or get killed and looted? Thanks in advance. **added** so the time it took me to type this, I tabbed back in and I am unconscious, lol. I don't know if someone beat me or does the pain of broken leg do that? So now, am I just stuck until zombies eat me or will I wake up?

I am new to this game. Earlier I got a broken leg apparently by falling all but 6 inches. Anyways I was crawling around not knowing what to do, went to make a thread trying to get help and when I tabbed back in I was unconscious. So I hit respawn. Said something about not being able to connect so I went to main screen. I made a new character and then joined a server. When I logged in I was my previous character, no longer unconscious or with broken leg but I was bleeding everywhere and everything was blurry. I found a medkit, patched the wound and then was running around trying to get food and stuff because Ive read that can get your blood back up. So eventually the blurriness went away and now everything looks normal except the color of everything is grey. I have tried resetting video settings and turning off v-sync and anti-aliasing and all that but to no avail. Is this some kind of status effect that makes things look like this or do I have a corrupted game file? I have read some things about a similar problem in the DayZ mod and you would delete some files from some Arma folder but I do not know what to do in the Standalone with Steam. Sorry I am new to the game, sorry this is so dragged out. Thanks in advance. TL:DR - Anyone aware of a fix for a grey colorscale (black/white) problem?

Yeah i just respawned. Its kind of crap though.. was finally making some progress in this game and am done in by a 6 inch drop >.< Lol live and learn....? o well its alpha
