No, they are and have been improving the server performance a lot. Their almost to the point were they can respawn zombies. (Hopefully) they fix them walking through walks etc, first.

I spawned in once to a guy about 5 M away from me. His back was turned towards me, I ran up to him and said Hi, then he turned I got him right in the face. 1 Hit KO! I quickly grabbed his Shotgun and blasted him as he stood up. He was dead, sadly I hid the body by mistake and didn't get any of his precious loot.

In 0.36 which is on Experimental right now, our profiles will save to Steam Cloud. Then we should not encounter Character Loss anymore.
