Oh DayZ Standalone: how I’ve missed you. The DayZ have been so cold without you. Tonight I hop back into the game that makes me feel butterflies and tornados in my stomach. I should already have an AKM, some clips, and a backpack ready, so all that needs doing is bandits to shoot. Let’s been heroes, shall we? I can’t wait until patch 0.49 drops. Improved melee (for boxing!), farming, among other improvements sound amazing. Those zombies won’t stand a chance against my homegrown zucchinis! Tonight’s DayZ stream begins at 8:00 PM EDT http://twitch.tv/mikereverb1

One of my joys in DayZ Standalone is meeting random strangers and role playing. It's amazing what you can get people to agree to/say while playing a role. It's this peek behind the psychological veil that really keeps the game fresh for me. Sure, I have some laughs, and some might not appreciate my particular brand of humor, but I enjoy myself most when meeting others and talking to them. Throw me a sub and a like if you enjoy my videos. :)

Haha, thanks for watching man! Glad you enjoyed it. :)

I tend to walk around like a fat-kid pinata as well since I tend to fly solo after acquiring new gear. The mind is willing to kill, but the body? It's old and lame of aim most times. But when I do get a kill of a dude who's geared? Worth the hours of gearing up and death. Having said that, i do enjoy interacting with other people very much. Can't seem to do it with people who are geared to the gills, but bambies give me the most laughs.

What Video content do you look for in DayZ videos?
MikeReverb replied to hiniberus's topic in Gallery
I prefer to watch role-playing/humor of some kind with a group or solo. I enjoy watching videos where someone uses the environment as a prop--pretending to have a job in the factory in Berezino, trying to find a shop somewhere. I like the moments that bend the intended buildings/items for another purpose. I've also enjoyed instructional guides though I find them less useful as I visit the forums and play the game extensively myself. But they were definitely helpful when starting out, and I still find some nuggets in recent videos as well. Crass humor and cursing don't bother me since I swear like a sailor, but I can understand why it would turn some people off. -
Haha, what a gift! Please find my tent sometime, sailor.

The best moments in DayZ involve Role Playing. At least, it does for me. This time I meet a young man in Svet and we decide to box for Jesus Christ in church. This is actually part of a larger adventure involving exorcisms and being invincible. I'll share the rest over time. Hit that subscribe/like button if you like! :)

I met a man in Svet who was looking for a hacker. I was just looking for a friend. He had plans with his handcuffs but I was stronger.

Haha, thanks everyone. I do need to work on my Christopher Walken a bit. Him and my Morgan Freeman (who I thankfully did NOT try out in this video).

I'd personally like to see a combination of tools to open cans. A screwdriver on its own is going to be a bitch to open a can with. But all those hammers lying around? Instant chisel action. Same with a sickle: place the pointy end on the lid of the can, bang with a hammer, and you at least puncture it. Maybe you can even just swing downward on the can to do the same, then yank the sickle along the edge of the can to open. With an axe, I'd imaging putting the can down on the floor and splitting it in half. You lose a good amount of the food, but it still makes sense. Using a crowbar to open a can sounds dreadful. How exactly would it be easier than a sharp axe that we can swing downward to pretty much guarantee opening a can? :P

Not only did I kill him high above the Berezino apartments, I killed him while he tried to retrieve his hack-magazine M4 . . . using his own M4! :D If you like what you see, hit that subscribe button, you lovely people. :)
-
Crap, didn't know that! That particular server erupted into a warzone shortly after I threw the M4 away, so it would have been nice to have a legit M4 at the time. :P Whoops!
-
Thanks, man! Been killed by enough of these hackers to be glad I could get some revenge. :D Haha, thanks! What I didn't show was that I dismantled the gun, spreading the attachments in different areas and then chucking the M4 and the hacked mag into the water by the docks. Hopefully these hackers will disappear soon.

DayZ Standalone for breakfast. Sizzling zombies and bandits in a pan. Add some beans. Oh, and you. :) 8:00 AM EDT http://twitch.tv/mikereverb1

It's Viewer DayZ! Come on in and find me so we can go on many adventures together! I'll be giving out my IP address so that viewers can join in the zombie and human killing. ***WARNING*** there will almost 100% be snipers today, so get comfortable with dying. Yay! 8:00 AM EDT http://twitch.tv/mikereverb1

Thank you, King Raptor. I couldn't agree more with spreading out the spawnpoints. I remember stepping into Belota, Zele, and other Western/Southern cities with fear because you never knew if anyone was waiting there. Now it's a bit of a wasteland though you do find the occasional sniper there. This has been a problem since day one--the east saw little action, and everyone camped the Western cities. I'm hoping they take your suggestion to heart and creating incentives to travel to other parts of the maps. Any ideas as to what those incentives would be though? I guess the military bases themselves would normally serve as incentives, but obviously something else is needed.

Is anyone in DayZ Standalone friendly?
MikeReverb replied to BoBoSlap's topic in New Player Discussion
Amen, brother, Amen. Used to be super friendly myself, but I've had far too many instances of people betraying and killing me. Usually safer to just kill on sight if the person is geared. Berezino has become a warzone these days, so EVERYONE there is fair game in my eyes. I've had bambis distract me while their buddies setup shots. They try to lure you with tales of woe and then BAM! You can hear them laughing through their mics. Having said the above, I deeply respect the players who continue to play friendly. You're taking one hell of a risk, and you're making someone smile at the end of the day. If/When someone decides to turn on you and take your life, I hope it doesn't spoil your good nature like it has mine. -
I've killed plenty of people in the game, and I'm not even that great at it. Sounds sucky that when you're about to shoot someone the game suddenly glitches or lags out. DayZ is anything but the smoothest experience, but when I've got my target lined up for a kill, I'm usually the one that fucks up if he gets away. Then again, I don't get into "firefights" usually. I like to sneak up on people and kill them when they least expect it. Feels good tracking someone for a while, reading their every move, and then that perfect moment . . .

It's the weekend. FINALLY! I get to spend time with my more of my beautiful viewers. :) Today we plan on wrecking faces again in the zombie apocalypse. Yesterday we murdered our fair share of people. It was a grand old time as a bandit of sorts (some people cringe, but it's life, folks. Chernarus is a cruel, cruel place). We also have games to give out! This giveaway will be split between my two shows: Day & Night. Day Giveaway (8:00 AM EDT) Faster Than Light Gun Monkeys Night Giveaway (8:00 PM EDT) The Darkness 2 Just Cause To enter, all you have to do is Follow the channel, say hi, and type in the magic word before I roll the dice. It's that simple. The morning DayZ Standalone stream starts at 8:00 AM EDT. Then we'll be back 12 hours later at 8:00 PM EDT for the night stream and 2nd half of the giveaways. See you there! http://twitch.tv/mikereverb1

Every week during my stream, I have a day where I play with viewers. My viewers can't wait for a chance to stream snipe me and whatnot. It's a lot of fun, and things get kind of weird when you get people together in DayZ as I'm sure you can imagine . . .
-
Yesterday we gathered quite a bit of good gear. I'm happy with the outcome: mosin rounds, an AK101, a ton of SKS ammo, and an SKS. However, what I REALLY want is a mosin! Seems like they're the unicorns of Chernarus (aside from the M4) Today's DayZ Standalone stream we'll hunt some people down in Berezino while we still have loot. Once we die, we'll go around harassing the fine folks only trying to make it in this cruel world. Join me for a special EARLY stream at 8:00 AM EDT (5:00 AM PDT) for some fun. :D http://twitch.tv/mikereverb1
-
This is NOT how you go around sniping, folks. Bit of Karma coming back around to me methinks. :)
-
Conan the Librarian: an enlightening post or your money back. Always enjoy your visits so much, sir. :) Same time next video, my love?
-
Early stream hype! Starting much earlier today: 8:00 AM EDT (5:00 AM PDT)! Man, we sniped some peeps last night! Boom, headshot! (you can find the clip for it HERE). This morning we'll play DayZ Standalone again, scour Chenarus again to look for weapons . . . again! And make friends, of course. It's important to make friends, of course! Come hang out today! http://twitch.tv/mikereverb1

I'll take that as you find me attractive, you perv. :) Haha, I misclicked--I meant to hit H to steady my weapon again to scope the area but hit G by mistake. Diving after it would have been amazing. :P
