We've got our Mosin. We got our long range scope. We've got ammo. We're headed back to Berezino. We traveled all the way to the North West Airfield to gear up last night. Gearing was rough and took awhile because we can't seem to find the loot we want after Path 0.47! But, we prevailed in the end. Also, many thanks to Duffman for raiding our channel last night. Dude is an amazing esports commentator and Twitch caster, and you should all check him out at twitch.tv/Rage_Duffman Tonight we'll snipe evildoers who dwell within Berezino while trying to stay alive ourselves. Join us for DayZ Standalone 8:00 PM EDT (5:00 PM PDT)http://twitch.tv/mikereverb1

Dem physics tho. It was a fun little surprise after starting the game post patch 0.47 (as evidenced by my squeals of joy).

Is the update as bad as everyone says?
MikeReverb replied to d.walker43's topic in General Discussion
Good patch. However, melee is very frustrating right now. Axes, machetes, my blazing fists of justice: they all seem to connect with an opponent's face randomly, even when I swing in the same place. I also couldn't finish off a sniper I got the drop on in the apartment buildings outside of Berezino because my pickaxe wouldn't swing. I was ambushed by two zombies and couldn't defend myself. But overall, really, this patch gives me hope. A hotfix would be nice, but keep up God's work, team! -
Arma 3 Altis Life last night was crazy. Guns, an undercover terrorist, and a car chase were just a few things we dealt with. Tonight we'll scour the wastelands in a different mod: Breaking Point! We'll survive against outlaws, hunters, and all enemies to life and love. Then we'll switch over to DayZ Standalone and gear up to take on the Berezino Bandits. Join me tonight at 8:00 PM EDT (5:00 PM PDT) http://twitch.tv/mikereverb1

Tonight we have games to give out, drug deals to make, and zombonies to shoot. We start the evening out with Arma 3. We have drugs to process to feed our ever present hunger for money. Altis RPG doesn't know what's going to hit it. Then we'll switch over to DayZ Standalone for some post apocalyptic pew pew. We lost all our gear last night, but them's the breaks in Chenarus. We'll eventually make our way to Berezino again for a huge gunfight. I'm also giving out games tonight! The list of games include: Mafia 2 UFO Extraterrestrials Gold Edition Anomaly 2 Trine 2 Complete Edition To enter, all you have to do is Follow my stream, say hi, and type in the magic word before I roll the dice. That's it. Tonight's Arma 3 and DayZ stream begin at 8:00 PM EDT (5:00 PM PDT) http://twitch.tv/mikereverb1

Ladies and gentlemen, I'm proud to present tonight's special event. I will be dual streaming with fellow streamer Takarita324 for DayZ Standalone fun! We'll roam Chernarus trying to find beans, bandits, and bullets. Hopefully we don't fall off a boat this time. I'm fully geared myself with an AKM, so all I need is to trek across the map to find this beautiful lady. I'm also holding a giveaway during the stream. The games I'm giving out are: Hotline Miami The Ship (Complete Pack) Arma 2 English Country Tune To enter, all you have to do is Follow the channel, say hi, and type the magic word before I roll the dice. It's that simple. Tonight's DayZ Standalone stream begins at 8:00 PM EDT http://twitch.tv/mikereverb1

Tonight I plan on scouring the land in DayZ Standalone and Arma 3. That's right: thanks to a generous donation by Jaykennu, I have a copy of Arma 3! So we will fight zombies and bandits in Chernarus and also find cocaine in Atlis Life. :D I'm also giving out games again. Tonight's games include: Orion: Dino Horde Sid Meier's Civilization V A Virus Named Tom Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter To enter, all you have to do is Follow the channel, say hi, and type the magic word before I roll the dice. Tonight's DayZ and Arma 3 stream begins at 8:00 PM EDT http://twitch.tv/mikereverb1

The Troubling Issue of Magazines
MikeReverb replied to hannibaldaplaya's topic in General Discussion
Hmm, I can personally understand why you would be against magazines spawning with weapons (rather than just a chance in the general vicinity) based on realism, but this is a large part of the appeal of DayZ for many people. I've always found it odd that I wouldn't find at least one weapon with a magazine already loaded in it given the attention to detail given to other areas of the game to create a sense of realism. The problem, as you laid out, is that by trying to make it more realistic, you also increase the chances of someone getting a fully functioning weapon (since all they'll need is ammo) and they won't need to go anywhere else, so less traveling. But is even a minuscule chance of getting a magazine really that bad? You're able to find weapons with certain attachments/mods attached to them right now, which one can argue is similar (I'm thinking specifically of the AKM which I've found with stocks attached and sometimes not). If you can control the likelihood of finding a magazine and a weapon, then why not do so instead of avoiding the whole aspect to begin with? I see it as a nice surprise, one of those "woah, luckyy!" moments like finding a can opener when you're about to starve. In that last case, I suppose it's not just about realism but about randomness as well, which is also a staple of DayZ. -
To the "friendly" guy who killed me and took my MP5
MikeReverb replied to Evaris's topic in General Discussion
I can definitely admire this, but I'll admit that I'm surprised you learned nothing from this particular experience. I mean, is there nothing that you did or that the other person did that you can use to avoid getting killed like this again? I guess I see situations like this differently. Going bandit is definitely not the only answer to a situation like this, but everyone I meet in Chernarus teaches me something new, from not turning my back on someone to keeping my gun pointed at the other if he refuses to put his weapon down, etc. Lying definitely sucks in real life or in this game. I've had similar experiences where someone seemed super cool to me and turned out to be a dick. And I learned from that experience hardcore. ;) -
What are your biggest concerns and fears regarding the near/far future of the game?
MikeReverb replied to joe_mcentire's topic in General Discussion
Joe_mcentire, I share your second fear. I'm afraid that zombies will remain an annoyance, mosquito bites in your journey to survive in this post apocalyptic world. Right now I pass the time boxing them with my bare hands, up to four at a time, while circling. I'm having a great time going after and protecting myself from human beings, but I would love to have a greater zombie threat. Fearsome, mindless, bloodthirsty, powerful, hordes. Too many zombies would make it near impossible to loot anything without a way to barricade doors, so that would be nice too. -
In a survival game with severely limited resources, WTF...
MikeReverb replied to tootights (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Hahaha, I would LOVE to see this. I was talking to a buddy of mine a couple weeks ago and he mentioned being able to grapple someone for their weapon. I wouldn't mind something like this. Give a bambi the ability to lunge and grapple. Then a gunshot. And only one person emerges unscathed . . . -
Woah, what the hell happened last night? So much shooting in Berezino last night. I even got attacked by German vampires who stole my blood and murdered me afterwards. Friends died, and one of my mods even murdered me with a hoe. Congratulations to our winners last night too! Tonight we will hunt down all transgressors across Chernarus. Oh, and we have more games to give out. The full list is: Hitman Codename 47 Hammerwatch GOMO Thomas Was Alone To enter, all you have to do is Follow the channel, say hi, and type in the magic word before I roll the dice. Tonight's DayZ Standalone stream beings at 8:00PM EDT (5:00 PM EDT) http://twitch.tv/mikereverb1

Love the way you pranked your friend in the first minute or 2. And that bloodthirsty kid! The whole scenario reminded me of the scene in The Dark Knight where the Joker was "recruiting." :) Well done, sir. You've earned a sub.

Fish hooks tend to be rare as fuck. A friend of mine found one last night. I've never fished myself. I tend to waste my time picking apples and berries. I haven't given the hunting meta-game a try either. I've killed a few cows but haven't harvested their meat patties. I've found pieces of meat on people I've killed, however. And Sniper Mexican, the Ashwood Stick is definitely a lie!

To the "friendly" guy who killed me and took my MP5
MikeReverb replied to Evaris's topic in General Discussion
I never expect to find anyone friendly in DayZ anymore. Everytime I try to chat someone up, I always get my chesticles shot off. What's important now, Evaris, is how (if at all) will this experience change you? Did you learn anything? Feel like you'll be more careful in the future? Turn bandit? I love to see how people evolve in their DayZ gameplay depending on their experiences. Has this experience changed how you think about the game and other people? You mentioned in a previous post that you'll still be friendly and helpful. What happens when this type of thing happens again as a result? -
No one takes RP or Talk before shot serioust enough!
MikeReverb replied to Atilimus's topic in General Discussion
I've run into the same "problem" Atilimus. You can't force anyone to play a certain style, and I honestly wouldn't want someone to do so. The uncertainty about what someone will do in any given moment is part of the fun. I used to talk first and shoot later, and I still do from time to time, but far more often I simply shoot, even if it's a Bambi that comes up to me. Why? Because there have been several instances of a Bambi being a diversion to allow other people to sneak up behind me and kill me (I stream on Twitch, so this happens pretty often because of stream snipers). So even when I hop onto servers that emphasize talk first, if I get the drop on someone, I will most likely just kill them. Again, I wasn't always like this, but experience has taught me to think of my survival first. -
Sometimes, a man is in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sometimes, the law is corrupt. But sometimes, just sometimes, a man can find redemption and do some good in this world, goddamit. Watch as a criminal is interrogated, murdered, and ultimately redeemed in the mean streets of Berezino in this epic 6 part series.

So happy that you stuck around after the first 20 seconds to see the awesomeness that the action caused, the consequences that arose from it. Awesome input. Lovely person, lovely commentary, lovely human being. Plus, I love when people refrain from attacking other people on the Internet and actually compliment them for being beautiful, bearded, and attractive on the corners of the screen. I cannot tell you how awesome your contribution was.

Uploaded the last 3 parts. Thanks to everyone who watched and subscribed. :D

:D I feed it orphan tears every night, sir. :)

Hi Kichilron, Thanks for your help. I was actually only working on the one thread, and it kept deleting my content when I previewed the Topic. When I pressed backspace, it posted an unfinished version of my work. Thank you for removing the other thread though! :) I will definitely keep what you said in mind in the future, however.

Last night was epic. Berezino was filled with police and death. And it was glorious. Tonight we have more DayZ action--gearing up and bringing the law to the Chernarus wastelands. :) We also have games to give out tonight! The list of games being given out are: Deus Ex Game of the Year Guacamelee Thunder Wolves Age of Wonders Shadow magic To enter, all you gotta do is Follow the Channel, say hi, and type in the magic word before I roll the dice. It's that simple. The DayZ Standalone stream begins tonight at 8:00 PM EDT (5:00 PM PDT) http://twitch.tv/mikereverb1

We geared up last night in the Western half of Chenarus. I'm talkin Green Mountain, Sosnovka, Zelenogorsk. All of the good spots. Tonight, we head East again to get revenge on all evildoers. They shall taste our vengeance! The DayZ Standalone stream begins at 8:00 PM EDT (5:00PM PDT) http://twitch.tv/mikereverb1

We spent last night gearing up along the West coast of Chernarus. We visited Green Mountain, the North West Airfield, Elektro, Cherno, and small towns in-between. Now it's time to head East and hunt some bandits! Berezino, here we come. Tomorrow night I plan on playing Overpoch to test those waters out, so get ready for that, mates. Tonight's DayZ Standalone stream starts at 8:00 PM EDT http://twitch.tv/mikereverb1

We sure do know how to get ourselves into trouble, eh? After killing 2 bandits in a little shack overlooking Berezino, I was annihilated by an SKS. Then me and my viewers were executed on the ship at Rify (though I got some sweet revenge later).Tonight, we continue our trek to Belota where we just might find a couple of bandits, loners who wait for people to gear up on the South/West part of the map. If you missed any of the action, make sure to check out my YouTube channel for the highlights!www.youtube.com/MikeReverb Won't you join me, fellow survivors? The DayZ Standalone stream beings at 8:00 PM EDT http://twitch.tv/mikereverb1
