    A believable world

    i myself mentioned this several times before, environment needs serous changes. Still, i know that several other things are in the works that they can't focus on this. i simply do respect devs priorities. i know for a fact that they do want to change the world in this way but there are still things that need to be added and get fixed that are far more important than this. FYI, they are planing to make a new map after version 1.0 so we can hope it's more like an Apocalypse world. and after all this, they mentioned that there is a BIG UPDATE coming to the map, so we should wait for that, a man can only dream, right ? :D

This answer need a +1 here. i wanna just add that, building enfusion is a different task than making dayz it-self. they are making enfusion as they are creating dayz, they are not both the same job. so as Brian mentioned before for a task like making renderer module of enfusion, it just take a couple of months to complete it. the thing that extend the time to bring that module to dayz (so dayz can use that module to render things) is a really Pain in the ars because they have to detach the old one, then attach the new one and making sure that ts actually working with the legacy and new elements of the game and in one word making it stable is a really huge task to do. and this is just an example, you first create a module then detach the old ones and attach new ones but in the end, it's still have its old codes from RV. that is my understanding of things, it's just like that modular phone from google which you can change the camera, you can change the CPU but still its the same phone, it's google's phone and you can't change the fact.

    im really excited to see .58 (maybe with region control) to see how this will turn up. i hope they do implement random spawns with this so it will balance players spreading across the map (hopefully) again to be clear, i like the idea of having hot spots but as long as they help players spread out, like 3 red (military gear) hot spots, 3 yellow ones (tools maybe) and etc. so players have like three destination if they want an ak-47 or smth but still there should be a really rare chance to find it anywhere (because that's what an apocalypse look like to me, and it's also real because some people's hobby is weapons. the thing is, there is not enough information about this system yet and there is alot of questions like what we find in police stations in elektro ? does it include guns or just some parts or ammo ? or just clothing ? there is alot of questions that i can think of but the thing is we should test it ourself to find out how good/bad this system is. so i think we should be patient untill .58 then :D ---------- yeah mate, CLE's going to add so much into this game and i do really truly like that random stuff, it will force people to check every buildings ^^

    oh, i think you got me wrong. i don't (completely) dislike the idea of having zones, i think it's better to have more zones than 4.... yeah, when you put it that way, berezino should have a different zone code than cherno and that is what im trying to say or suggest. having a big zone 1 won't bring the idea you just mentioned here (that is my understanding of the picture showed in OP) in another word i really truly like the idea of zones but not how they showed it ATM. having just 4 zones is not good. and about that renderer i said earlier, i don't wan't any screenshots or something like that, and i do know it won't change the game dramatically, and honestly i don't care about how games look like. all i care is if it will give us 10 more fps in towns so be it, it's a great change for a game like dayz. and all i'm asking is talk about this stuff, like it will definitely give you 1% more FPS or what is you plan after implementing it,like that time you talked about how it will change painting (i think it was in a Twitch stream). or at least let us know time to time how much of it it's done or give us another ETA. Hopefully hicks, you don't get me wrong on this, i do appreciate all you guys do for this game and im not trying to be offensive here. i just truly care for this game.

    i honestly don't like the zones idea. this will be like go to NWAF to get loots again. why not instead of one big red zone, we have two small ones ? i think that would spread players. any way your choice and i can live with that but honestly don't like it. i love where the vehicles design are going thought, it's awesome, i'm gonna name my vehicle and possibly paint it blue and pink, why not (if possible in future) why not ?:D i don't like how you don't spread a word about new renderer, this is suck... Q1 goal is being a Q3 i think :(

    DayZ SSD Help

    SSD won't help FPS at all. it just helps speed up loading's or load textures more quickly, it won't help FPS in anyway you imagine it :)

    To all the "Is Dayz dying?" threads.

    In another word, let's make an example of life it self out of it. this game is not dead, because it was never in the world. this game is still in his mothers belly (Developers) and growing there. we are kinda an X-ray machine which can watch this game grows and help it with med's or right feeding (Feedback's)... so be patient because it is only 9 month away (mid 2016) to see this games walking.

    Dayz crash on startup

    Hey mate, im sorry to hear about your problem. first, i want you to check your software again, it seem to me that this can be a CPU temp problem, if you have intel CPU use real temp to monitor your temp. if there is nothing wrong with your CPU or GPU temp, then i suggest you to launche the game with -dologs, and send the crash dumb to feedback tracker. wish it gets fixed mate :)

    Do not worry about your specs, they are good. the problem with dayz right know (as far as FPS concerns) is engine side. everyone is getting bad FPS in towns and you are not the only one with this issue. also keep in mind that they are fixing this (most of it) by implementing renderer, tought there is no ETA atm but best card to play is 2-4 months from now maybe. that will help the games FPS to be stable at town and ofc higher than now but it wouldn't be what the game is going to be at 1.0 hope you get the point.

    i totally agree with this, zombies have a great influence on the experience of the game. people are talking about how boring and frustrating Zombie games are getting, but i most say i love zombies, they are great (although i don't like Zombies in dayz but i totally respect devs choices over them) ... maybe the worst thing about dayz is you can't cut body parts but i can live with that :D
  12. Mostly the renderer as everyone else . but as i said in Eugen's twitt too, #2 priority for me is modding because it will open a window to endless possibilities.

    Should DayZ 1.0 feature events and world cycle?

    well, i hope such thing will be in. but i'm pretty sure if they intended to make this events,it won't be in the same hive as vanilla because the whole idea is it being sand box but this events direct your game play which is something that sand-box can't accept. hopefully after modding is in we will see some great mods i'm sure of it. imagine Chernarus Life, Survivor GameZ as a mod, even Epoch maybe :D.... i think if you change this from a event to a mod, it has a great value :)

    Looting broken?

    Ok, this is basically my understanding of the whole thing, so expect some parts not to be right. as for now, for .55 stable the game use the old legacy system after they found out new system is bugged as hell, the different is persistence is forced to all servers. so all the things i'm saying below are working for persistence servers (All servers right now ?); Old system: so basically, in this system loots spawns at the start of the game, then they will re-spawn after an item is picked up or cleaned (deleted from server after a while of no interaction) (which is bugged in old loot system) they respawn where there is no player around but it don't care about what item to spawn. this is how it's intended to work, but there are bug that make it worse. New system: basically this system works just like the old one, you pick up item or clean items, an item will respawn somewhere but the difference is they can control max/min amount of an item per server and per hive, they can set to just spawn 1 SVD across the server. which helps the system not to spawn items like books to much that other items can not spawn. also there is an option that set max/min amount of an item per building or it can choose what items to spawn in the building. this way we shouldn't see any loot explosion like the ones in elektro or military bases. Future plans: as far as i know, they are working on a way to control items in a area. also there is dynamic loot that will allow any building to have a chance of spawn any items it want, as hicks said, maybe an m4 in a cabbin, who knows ? :D
  15. damn Middle-east ... all countries here have serious internet issues, here in Iran there is no difference. the worst thing is they seem not to even consider improving it, they don't want people use internet as intended. here in Iran our Foreign Minister have a facebook page and a twitter page but both websites are censored. Minister of Technology (if that is the right word for it) got a yellow card from Parliament for Improving Internet bandwidth a bit also for bringing in 3G and 4G and the excuse was that there were no Cultural background. completely off topic but i needed to say it :)

Hey Mate, currently there is no option to create a server at Localhost (your own computer like in arma 3) neither there is an option to host a server other than GSP's so there is no way to solo the game or make your own server in anyway. i think we will be able to host our own server (most likely in local host) once modding is in or at least in future. however, i have similar latency as you have and i most say i found 200>ping well playable if you don't have any other connection issue and your connection quality is good (Speed,packet lost,random high-latncy etc) it also depends on the build, see i can't play in stable .55 but in experimental .56 it all works fine for me. wish you best luck :)
  17. I just had an Aug after awhile :D ... Anyway, it's just alright, and had to be done because of the dupe status. Also i think stable will be late because there are so many bugs currently in experimental.

    dynamic random spawns - is the most interesting thing of all, ofc for me :)
  20. Get rid of all launch parameters, also add -oldui this is what helped me play the game but i don't know why :D although try to run the game with DayZ.exe and not DayZ_BE.exe and if you have no issue with that, contact batttleeye to help.

    internet connection

    hey mate, i myself struggle with internet connection aswell. first let's say i have a worse connection than yours, a download speed of 1Mbps and upload of 512Kbps and i'm playing in Europe servers with a ping like 150~200 but i had exactly no issue winning a gun fight or with rubberbanding or jerkiness (if you factor .55 patch which is a mess for me somehow, totally unplayable) (also worth nothing to mention i managed to play some today it was all great and smooth) the point is your connection is beyond the need for this game (if you factor the ping, which you get used to it), but if i'm you, i would try contacting my ISP to increase my upload speed a much as possible. Edit: i had not issue since 2013, and all of a sudden things start to get dirty with .55 :D Edit 2: i killed two guys today which i'm proud of, don't judge :D

    why is food so rare for me?

    As ColdAtrophy said, The loot distribution is a mess right now because it's an Old loot system (we got a new one called central loot economy since .55 arrived but they reversed it to legacy due buggs so it will return in .56) there is diffrence between servers, some have good loot some don't. if you found out a town is empty just skip it. but the situation is like this, some town have normal loots, some don't and some times have a lot of loot that you can't imagine (Bug). what is that mean for you fellow survivor ? it means for .55 in order to survive, you most skip empty towns and normal towns for food or keep searching for bugged ones (i found out most of the times that elektro is bugged for an start it's a good town, if you can run enough without dying, NWAF seem to be bugged in most of servers too) (also note that this is an abuse of bug if you plan to play fair i simply don't, i mean come on you can found 20 sks in one place, isn't that coold ? :D ). or you can use other sources for food, like searching for berry, apple or simply grow them. haunting is another way but most probably if you can haunt that means you have enough food because you need like a lot of tools that you can't find that easily and ofc you need least a gun or a bow (which crafting ones are bugged) also it's nice to mention that loot gonna be scare in .56 and don't expect to find lots of food in a town, that is just so easy :D

It might be because of the load on the server side, because sometimes at night when people are dreaming of an icecream with chocolate and i'm awake playing some games, the problem fix it self and after a while it comes back. i don't really know what issue cause this but i'm sure it will get fixed. and i do know it's in alpha, but the point of early access is to found such things and just report them and we are doing the job and after that it's up to devs. hopefully it gets fix and we can play again but till then, i'm gonna play some battlefield or arma 3, also dota 2 so yeah, we need to wait :)

    revamp feet damage

    i was one those who supported survival aspect get more focus if you ever read my posts and i for sure support the idea, it can be a pain in the ars but also a fun addition if it gets designed properly . well, they (devs) have plan to re-work damage system but it won't be anytime soon because first (for sure) need new character system (which consist of new animation system for players, new inventory system, new controls and maybe more(?)) in place which also isn't a simple task and it will take a great time to get implemented.

    Do DayZ and Teamwork mix?

    i'm also agreed with SapperGR, there is a really good and rewarding mechanic for teamwork playstyle and there will be more rewarding stuff in future. i just want to add that, i think it's better to have a group up system that actually works like other game rather than you find your buddy on your own (it worth nothing to mention that i have zero problem with this, i'm offering it because it's better to have this mechanic for ecourage new players (more than likely non-hardcore players) to buy the game) i think that is better to work on lonewolf playstyle, and give them some advantage as well so you (which is also already good because people almost can't spot you that well, your not waiting for friends in a bad situation or etc.) but i think it's not enough. i don't know how they can improve this playstyle but if there is a way to improve it, i diffidently want it to happen because i play mostly in private servers and my friends playing in public :D
