What i found in the game (mod and dayz) is that their are no hardship that unify the players in order to survive. The Zombies can be outrun, founding a hatchet or a gun guaranties your survival and that is why bandits comes up,they dont have anything else to do rather then killing other players since zombies no longer are a threat. That is why i came up with this idea, that is what happens after you get good gear and survival is almost guarantied. The ideas are intended to keep the players going even after the "good gear" stage, where most players get borred and stop playing since they already have everything and dont have the bandit blood. The idea was to have "events" and other function, something like missions in Wasteland. Some examples are: Air drop - Air drop is dropped in random location consisted of a random number of "boxes" and amount of supplies. you better get their first or the stuff might be gone or someone might be laying in waiting for you. Convoy/transport - An convoy on the road, either stationary or is going for one location to another while being protected by soldiers. Sometimes their are cars/trucks in the convoy, a good opportunity to get a functional car, if you have the fire power that is. Fort - Another group of survives or an surviving military camp that are enclosed in high walls with a gate. Loads of stuff, but is also heavily guarded, going in alone is not an option. Heli crash - A heli (military or civilian) have suffered from malfunction and crashed, might be out of fuel, or something might have simply gone wrong. Either way, its wreck and the passengers are either dead, very hurt or a zombie, good change to get some stuff while their are a very little resistance resistance. Plane crash - A plane (civilian passenger plane or a military cargo plane) have crashed. Almost everyone is dead, but their are alot of turned zombies and/or wounded passenger/soldiers. Alot of bags to loot for stuff (civilian passanger plane) or one or two crates to get military graded hardware (military cargo plane). But you first have to go through the hord of zombies. If you got other ideas, please tell me and il ladd them

I like the idea that gps shows where your friend are in the game. but i can see that every other players (bandits) will use the gps to find and kill you, this needs to be avoided.

So i finally got some time over to make some suggestions about the Standalone game. What really bugs me is the inventory system, since a picture is worth more then a thousand words, i post some and comment on the things. https://www.dropbox.com/s/zvyf930a9xs3wk3/Dayz1.jpg this first image shows the points that bugs me about the inventory. 1. the text font is times new roman, it works wounder on printed paper since it gives an illusion of a line to follow when reading, but reading that font on a lcd or ttl screen isnt that good on the eyes and the characters are becoming weird since the pixels doesn't line up properly. 2. The item image for example main weapon, pants and such in the list are huge, there are space that could be used for other things, just as it is with the player image (3) and the hand thing (4). Huge open and wasteful space that could be used for other things. 5. The inventory isnt supposed to have a scroll, i hate being forced to scroll down every time i want something from the backpack, example med kits or food. 6. Item state. who beside me is annmoyed by the fact, that you have to hover the mouse over every item in order to see their damage status. There could be an hotkey that showed the status on all the items or the status could be shown directly on the item image. https://www.dropbox.com/s/veu454lpn695db1/Dayz2.jpg This image is an concept solution that i made, took a litle while but you can see where im going with it. Possible to have everything in the same place, no scroll, no wasted spaces. It could use some color, but I didnt do it in order to win a price. I also found this webpage, a person who made a concept work of the dayz inventory system, you can clearly see he put down alot of time with it. http://kolinsue.com/projects/dayz-inventory/community-release-en So something like this is what i want to see in the game. What does everyone else think? do you like the inventory as it is now or wouldnt you rather have something like these concepts instead?

First of, im a huge fan of the ghilli suit, i love it since it gives a lite bit better cover, but that is only a litle since grass and textures changes the further away you are from the person. So ghilli guys are pretty easy to find at longer distances. But thats now what im going to talk about. in the mod, you could get ghilli suits from loot, they whernt that common, but you alwasy found them in clothes packages. For stand alone, i dont want ghillis suits to be loot able. Instead, the only way to get ghilli suit in the standalone, should be, and only through crafting. in otrher words, you have to craft it, their is no other way. So you might think, how do you make a ghilli suits. Well, all the stuff that are needed are actually already in the stand alone. First of, you need those potato sacks, from them you craft strings. You then have to color the strings using spray can (Black, Green, (white and brown color should be added)) on the strings to get different colored strings. Then you take the strings to create the a "loop", and you need many loops to create a ghilli suit (Brown, Green and uncolored string for summer ghilli, White, uncolored and black for winter) Then you take those loops and craft them with clothes, such as shirt, pants and such to have a ghilli suit. What do you all think about this?

I can already see how people will abuse this, They will crank up the volume to max and start playing annoying music. But i like the idea, i just think its going to be abused more then doing any good

I would love a hockey mask :D

safe places wont work, they will only attract camper bandits. people is hiding right outside the place,m one a player leaves they'll get shot and looted. So safe spots is out of the question. However, it would be cool of players can build a fort, kind of like the cavalry had agains the Indians. A wall made out of log surounding their structions with plattfors to look over and a gate to let people in and out. This could be a semi-safe place, hard to get in but not impossible

it would be possible to have a "battlefield 2-4" kind of meny for the signals, think its called Commo Rose. Hold a button, example "T" and a round list of commands pop up, this could be used to give signs.

For those who know how object origented programming works, knows what I talk about. The child zombie does require some additional motions and behavior, and maybe alot mor then that, but other zombies is derived from a zombie class, if a couple of subclasses are created, different types of zombies. Example the soldier zombie, simply set the Healt to a higher value and even make them more durable against bullets while cops can take more hits byt melee but not bullets, and so on, They would still behave but they have a special attribute about them. In other words, it is posible to have special zombies by "cheating" with the programming.

i think that the game need "special" zombies, no mutations only that their attribute changes, example soldier should have body armor and take alot more hits then regular, a cop zombie might be sturdier agains melee but not against bullets and so on. Why i think the game need special zombies, its because the game is to easy. There are at max 10-15 zombies in the larger cities, which are killed very easily with one chop of the hatch or on bullet, hit anywhere on their body. There is basically no resistance at all, you can even run away from the zombies so surviving in the game is out of the question, instead its PvP but added some annoying zombies standing around. The problem is that the servers cant handle that amount of zombies on the server at the same time, not now when all the loot is spawned. So to keep the amount of zombies down, add a lot of specials and rarely any standard zombies.

I like the fact that the items have a sort of "damage status", but the only significant downside to it is that food that are badly damage or worse have a high risk o fbeing sick, and that the glass inside the scope is broken if the status is damage or worse. But the fact that you have to open the description on every item in order to see their corresponding status is nuts, wouldnt it be easier to have a single litle bar on one side of the item, which shows the color and how much of the bar is gone in order to see how damage the item is. Example a pristine item have a full green bar, a damage item have a half yellow bar, and so on. Also, if you shot a player, one shot is enought to bring the clothes and all the gears from pristine to ruined. Thats just nuts, a bullet hole in a jacket isnt much, i have clothes that have riped bigger holes then a bullet hole, i didnt throw them away for that, simply patch them up and they where good as new. I can understand that shoting the backpack will result in that some items might get hand and be ruined, but not all the stuff should be that. we are talking about a small bullet here, its not a canon ball. Some items should become ruined, but not all from a singe fired bullet.

Introduction As a veteran player of both the mod and standalone with several hours of gameplay, i have come to the conclussion that the game gets realy boring after a couple of hours and that the games kind of comes to an halt once you have everything. And since its realy easy to get everything by simply get a hatchet or a gun just makes the game becomeing more boring even faster. The main problem is that the game should be about tactic but is more about brute force, which wont serve you any good in order to survive a zombie apopocalyps. What i mean about this is that the players should always think about "shoot or dont shoot" However, the problem is that the amount of zombies in a city is at max 10-15 and they all die by a single chop of an hatchet or a shot, and if the player shoot the zombies there is only 3-4 zombies that comes tripping towards you. What this does is that players doesnt have the "dont shoot" option in their minds and simply shoot everything without recieveing any negative side effect more then 3-4 zombies comeing at you, which are killed by shooting them and the city is therefore completly free of zombies and open to looting. Suggestion 1. So what should be done? simply add more zombies to all citys to a huge number. This forces the players to take on a more sneaky tactic since running into the city with a hatched will attract more then 2-3 zombies, which is easaly killed witha single chop on each zombie. 2. Also, fireing the gun close to a city should attaract a huge herd of zombies. This forces a player to keep the "shoot or dont shoot" options in their mind. An example of this a player hiding in a huge city and spots a player, the attacker most then conside "is it worth shoting him? considering that im in the middle of the city where a 100 zombies will come at me if i shot. Is it worth it?". shooting a new spawned player and get a 100 zombies after him with a high chanch of getting killed might not be a good idea, a fulled geared player might be worth killing, but the best solution would be killing the player outside the city, where there are less zombies. 3. if the amount of zombies affects the server performance, there is another option where the zombies should be harder to kill. So in order to kill a zombies it requires 1-2 shots to the head, 2 for a handgun, 1 for rifle, shotguns, hatch and so on. Shots to the body wont do much damage, but high powerd guns like shotgun, m107, and such guns will knock the zombie back a bit, giving some time and room to run away. 4. Another way to make the game much more fun, is if there are different kinds of zombies. Right now there are only the "regular" and the "crawler" zombies, but adding a "military" zombie which have full body armor and are therefore much harder to kill but also have a sidearm as a lot gives the players a more difficult experience. And if there was a "sprinter" zombie, a jogger that was turned into a zombie and can sprint faster then the players gives a more challange. Conclussion More zombies and/or much harder to kill Shooting inside the city will attract alot of zombies, not just 3-4 zombies. Enforce the players to always think "shoot or dont shoot", "is it worth killing another player at the risk of myself being killed by attracted zombies" Add different kinds of zombies with special attributes.

this isnt only realetd to doors, zombies can see/hear even through the walls, they even have the ability to walk throug the walls as well as the doors.
