    Yes, I agree, but we need to make sure they are Zombies first. Zombies are undead, there isn't any argument that supports otherwise, that is the definition. I don't wanna hear people saying, "28 Day Later Zombies", that is not a Zombie movie. I know it is similar but they are infected with "Rage", they aren't undead. Don't misunderstand me though I love 28 Days Later, they just are not Zombies. This game is in development and the devs can change the lore all they want, but what I want is to make sure that this is a ZOMBIE game. So, I will favor the undead over them just being infected with an unrealistic virus. Gameplay wise Zombies would be scarier and a lot more fun. As for Infected, well there isn't anything you can do with them that you couldn't do with Zombies and you are very limited to what you can do with them. If the Devs decide that this is a Zombie game then we need to figure out what kind of Zombies we are dealing with. So if you're in favor of ZOMBIES then let it be known in the forums!

    I know there are a lot of awesome things in the works to be added. Although I feel the most important thing for everyone right now is MORE ZOMBIES!!! All there is to do right now is looting stuff then killing players, so that's what we do. The only threat in DayZ right now is Bandits. There needs to be much more ZOMBIES and we need them right now. There are over 400k+ players that bought the game, thats alot of people and a lot of money. To hold our attention and keep us playing we need more NPCs to make things interesting and balance coordinated bandit groups. Prime loot spots need to be swarming with so many zombies that you'd need to cooperate with players to clear it. It would give people a reason not shoot everyone on sight and the loot we get would be rewarding. Looting empty buildings in empty servers can be fixed with MORE ZOMBIES!!! Say there was a group of 5+ Bandits and just me, if there were swarms of zombies everywhere then shooting would attract many ZOMBIES and distract them enough to even the playing field. I could use the ZOMBIES to get away or maybe even start picking them off, instead of it just being 5v1 in an empty area with no other factor. Like in MMOs where they mix PVE and PVP, the NPCs can balance things and make it fun for both sides even when you're out numbered by players. It would be way more intense and fun. Also, get the NPCs to stop going through walls and have them spawn inside buldings. It would be more suspenseful if I opened up a door inside a house and there were 3 hungry ZOMBIES in my face. If the military buildings had many ZOMBIES inside them, people wouldn't be logging off and server hopping in or around these spots because they would DIE! Add much more zombies then work on AI and adding other things to the game, I think most of us would rather the game be too hard right now instead of way too easy. Too easy is boring. Too hard is challenging and rewarding, just what this community needs right now.

    You may not truly understand how npcs balance pvp and add a bit of chaos that creates unique moments during pvp. Not only does it improve pvp but if gives people a reason to cooperate witch adds that grey area of not knowing who is friendly or not. Instead of how it is now where the only thing to do is PvP, so its see player then shoot/or run from player. NPCs can create a situation where a group of players start fighting hordes then a single sneaky bandit can catch em slipping and get into a gun fight while they are fending off the horde. Or, if there is a bandit group and they shoot and call the horde and get distracted then a survivor could turn the tides or get away. Point is NPCs improve PvP drastically, they add a fun unpredictable element. It isn't? How about everyone KOS and having no reason to cooperate, how about loot hoarding, server hopping and the fact that the game is so empty with long down times. More NPCs can fix all of these.

    I strongly feel that the ZOMBIES Infected can help a few aspects of the game, like KOS and server hopping. I say that fixing the ZOMBIES Infected so that they stop walking thru walls and make them take more than one bullet to the foot to kill, then allowing them to spawn indoors. Hordes of ZOMBIES Infected would be in and around prime loots spots. People wouldn't want to log into a fresh/empty server cuz they would die. Also, people would have a reason to cooperate instead of killing everyone they see. Also, if you were outnumbered by Bandits you could use the ZOMBIES Infected in your favor to pick them off or get away when they get swarmed because of firing their guns. This is what I feel is the most important now, this will keep people interested and get more people into the game.

    So, you're saying that they are undead? Unlike the people that keep saying these are 28 days later Infected people. Or are you saying that the Devs aren't really sure what a Zombie is?

    Then they are not ZOMBIES! By definition Zombies are undead no matter what culture it comes from. I say they NEED to change this silly idea of 28 days later Infected. Its not anywhere as scary, and a lot of great gameplay changes can be made if they are Zombies. There isn't a reason to make them sick humans, its silly. They should be Zombies and they should only be killed by being hit in the head.

    Seeing how every black friday people trampling others to death is not out of the ordinary. Now Imagine that instead of a kid's toy you're trying to get food/water which is even more rare and you need it to live... there woudln't be very many friendlies.     Stop changing spawns until....

    There are many simple ways that by design would stop server hopping. Like More ZOMBIES! ZOMBIES that actually spawn indoors, ZOMBIES that are actually challenging to kill and don't walk through walls. Logging into an area that hasn't been looted would mean death! Then it would also be rewarding to have good gear. There are many other simple ideas that could improve many aspects of the the game, as well as prevent server hopping.

    Honestly, there isn't much else to do until they make ZOMBIES a threat, so everyone's day is a little more interesting.

    I have done this and you don't get overwhelmed, all you need is an axe and swing a couple times then they are dead. No threat at all. The Zombies do run through walls yes, but they are still not a threat at all. There isn't enough to overwhelm you and they die very easy. Well I hate to say it but, its Alpha. Saying they can't add zombies till they fix them is essentially irrelevant. The devs can break the game if they want, they could take all the Zombies away or add way too many... its Alpha. I'm just saying all they need to do is add a few more Zombies in prime loot spots and it would be sooo much more interesting.

    If they aren't undead then they are not ZOMBIES! 28 days later is not a zombie movie, real zombie fans will never consider them zombies. The definition of Zombie has changed to an animated corpse, this is fact. I agree with Grapefruit Kush. This should be a zombie game not a rage virus game. Rage virus wouldn't get very far because of the short incubation period, a person with rage couldn't travel far enough and infect enough people before turning to spread the virus. Plus, one person with an immunity is all we need for a cure and we have 40 per server. So the rage virus is just as unrealistic as ZOMBIES. If everything that died turned into a ZOMBIE that would be a scary world, and make perfect sense for a game like this. The current story has holes and doesn't go well as a video game. Right now the infected need to be harder to kill to balance the game. Making them take many more hits than a normal person or making headshots only count would play make people cooperate more. Then it would only make sense that they are undead (ZOMBIES!). Zombies are far more popular then people infected with rage(which is a joke), make this a ZOMBIE game!!! The idea of our corpse becoming reanimated with out stuff walking around would be a great gameplay mechanic.

    There needs to be more animals. There needs to be animals that will attack if threatened (bears and wolves). Russia does have a bear problem, farmers getting attacked by bears (http://www.badassoftheweek.com/index.cgi?id=9634649523). Zombie animals would be cool, but one step at a time here. We need to start with getting more animals in the game, I've played for 30+ hours now and I've seen a bunny one time.

    Zombie Spawns

    This is gonna be a hard thing to balance but there is a way to do it right and I hope we find it. Since its alpha us players should discuss this greatly. Right now with a fire axe zombies aren't a threat at all, I can walk around care free, aggro zombies then hit them once without getting hurt...its way too easy. One of the things that could help the game greatly is making zombies difficult to kill, this would encourage cooperation among strangers. The zombies should never be one hit kills with melee (my opinion). I also believe that no hit/shot should count unless its in the head. Body hits knock them down and limb hits slow them down I also think that there could be respawning. Two ways I see this working are 1) after killing a zombie(s) if there isn't a player near the spawn point of X amount of time then it respawns. 2) Triggering a horde, having some mechanism that triggers a group of zombies to spawn and come after you. E.g. make too much noise shooting guns then spawns a group of 5 zombies that come after you. I think this topic should be kept alive and we should discuss options and the pros and cons of those suggestions.

    Zombies must be undead. Look up the definition on merriam-webster.com. Even the voodoo explaination of Zombie has to do with being undead. Any real zombie fan would agree that Zombies most be reanimated corpses. The idea of your body becoming a Zombie with your stuff on it is AWESOME! This must happen I will support this and push for it until it happens. Anybody reading this thread who agrees, please say that you support it and any suggestions
