About 3 weeks ago I was using the same map hack I wrote 1 year ago. I have several hundred hours logged in ArmA 2 using it. I wrote it using a tutorial on a forum with more posters than the official DayZ Mod forums. Hell, I use it on my main Steam account. I'm in good standing with Valve and Battle Eye. There's no risk. It's like I said, ESP & Aimbot hacking a game only becomes easier over time. Yeah, a company is forced to fix gaping holes that allow someone to god mode or spawn guns, but Bohemia would be the first to do much more than that. The client always wins and it's only becoming easier to cheat and hack client sided games.

Night time In Dayz SA and your thoughts?
RottonKiwi replied to BlackDalia's topic in General Discussion
First of all, it'd be nice to see sunset/sunrise implemented instead of clicking to day/night after a crash/restart. As for visibility, just use full moon visuals. -
I love the people who think hacking will become less of a problem over time. It's quite the opposite with all games. Games are picked apart over time and the pool of public information & data simply grows. Just look at the cheat forums for CS:GO, Battlefield, COD, or any popular MMO.

There isn't even a cycle. It's either night or day depending on when the server last reset. I repeat, a server can not transition. It's not implemented yet and won't be for 1+ year(s) along with everything else. Which is good because the game is super awesome how it is now  :D

The new experimental client build fixes the issue where a body disappears when a player quits...

...but only for people with that client build. That means the client dictates whether or not your body disappears. Anyone in their right mind knows how dodgy/wrong that is and for everyone else who mentions the word Alpha, I wish you the best  -

If you don't update your client then your body still disappears on logout. -
What happens if you log off in combat in other MMO's?

Why isn't DayZ like other MMO's where your character stays in game for half a minute after logging off? The dev team didn't even make an attempt... I mean, even DayZ Origins had a way to stop people from logging off if they were in combat. You can't stop people from getting scared, hiding and logging off but it's kind of a no brainier to stop people from disappearing on demand. A side question, how long will the Alpha last? 6 months, 1 year, 2 years? How long do you think is acceptable for the Alpha to last? If I pre-order a game I'd like to see it released within at least a year. That's just me, personally. -

That could 2 or 3 years until beta, nice :) -
"Private" gear farming servers are now a thing
RottonKiwi replied to AmirDayz's topic in General Discussion
It's kind of silly that private & untrustworthy servers are allowed to communicate with the central database. -

Keep in mind, Bohemia is located in the Czech Republic. Some/most of their information isn't posted in English. Considering they use "programmed" and "enabled" interchangeably I think it's safe to substitute "put in the game" for both meanings. Surely the line should be drawn somewhere. Would it be okay if the Alpha lasted 5+ years? I'm sure that's acceptable for someone with giant My Little Pony pictures, but some of have standards.
