This is the dumbest post ever.... You have absolutely no idea what the murder rate would be in a end of society apocalypse situation. To believe morality would remain unchanged in a pure survival mode world is pretty naive IMO. KoS-ing could possibly be the norm. If you were starving would you kill for a can a beans? Likewise if you were starving would you kill to defend your can of beans?

KoS is the way of this game particularly in groups. I was just in Cherno with a squad of buddies 5 deep, all of us decked out with M4's. We killed a sniper in the firehouse. The gun shots must have attracted some other group because we spotted a crew of 4 guys rolling up on us. (3 M4's 1 Mosin) Now what are we supposed to do? Call out "hey we are friendly" to a group of guys heading towards us guns out? I think not...... so without saying anything we just ended up having this massive fire fight in the Cherno courtyard that went on for like 5 mins. I went though 3x60 round mags. Maybe you can tell me how that could have turned out friendly cause in my mind its even harder taking friendly risks in a group. No one wants to deal with the pain in the ass it is to have a group member killed.... you have to go get his ass, get him re-geared and that takes TIME. Time that a group of 5 guys might not want to spend so its easier to just KoS.

Actually even they cant tell me how to play "their" game..... all they can do is set parameters which I can then work around to continue to play the game style I want to play.

The fact is its an open PvP world which means IT CAN BE ANYTHING YOU WANT IT TO BE. You see it as a zombie apocalypse survival game.... I see it as a an open world player hunting game with the occasional annoying zombie thrown in for AI disruption. It could be space aliens for all I care. The beauty in that I not you paid the $29.99 to purchase this game means that I not you get to decide how I am going to play it. Besides you dont think there would be bands of people raping pillaging and murdering everything in site for their own benefit in a real zombie apocalypse? So just think of all this PvP as ROLE PLAYING :P and enjoy

I got news for some of you guys crying "THIS IS A ZOMBIE SURVIVAL GAME" Open PvP full looting games attract PK's (aka bandits) regardless of what type of game it is. The story line doesn't matter. I started with Ultima Online way back in 1998, then Eve Online, then Darkfall, now DayZ. Zombies, spaceships, mages.. it doesn't matter. Its the PvP aspect some people like. If you want to play with zombies and be in survival mode thats fine... but some people just want to hunt other people. I dont think thats is any less legitimate of a reason to play this game. Regardless, giving naked noobs the ability to defend themselves faster should be seen as a good thing because even if you make people go up north for military gear they are still going to bring it back down to Cherno to kill people.

Someone has to play the bad guy in PvP games... without people like me there would be no excitement in this game. Instead of being a douche you should just say thank you.

I guess it depends on your perspective. As I said before I dont really see gear as an End Game thing, I see it as the start of actually playing this game. Running around for 3 hours looking for gear seems just like a grind to me particularity when there are no vehicles in the game yet. I am all for risk and consequence but not needless grinding. I stop playing MMO's as a full time job when I graduated from college and actually got a real job... maybe that does make you more "hardcore" than I am.

Deathmatch??? What game are you playing? You can hang around Balota on a heavily populated server for an hour and not see anyone. And even when PvP does kick off its not like its a 20 vs 20 server deathmatch... its usually very small groups like 2v2 or 3v3 type stuff. And by the way I am not the one complaining.. you carebears are the ones complaining. I will never understand people who want to play an online game but without the inconvenience of other people doing things they dont like. lol

Because there is no fear of death in those games... its just run and gun and respawn. No tactics at all. You seem to think that getting gear is End Game. I think getting gear is just the start of the game. The quicker naked noobs can get weapons and fight back the quicker they can start playing this game... that is if they want to fight back... you are free to collect food in the dark of night and hide in a barn during the day like the pussy you sound like. You dont see me telling you to go play some single player game where you can decorate your abandoned cabin in peace do you? So why dont you stop trying to tell me how I "should" be playing this game.

The loot should stay. If anything they should have it respawn quicker. I dont play this game for zombies or survival.... I play it for no safe zone open full looting PvP. The faster people can gear up the faster they can shoot back. If me and my buddies have 2 hours to play on a given night I dont want to spend 1 hour and 45 mins scrounging for gear and 15 min looking for PvP... I want 15 mins scrounging for gear and 1 hour and 45 min looking for PvP. Keep Balota airfield military spawns...
