    The TANK Thread

    I say put them in.... there is a reason EPOCH is the most popular most played MOD. Tanks/Heli's/Military loot will be in game sooner or later anyway when they start allowing private mod servers. Its going to be funny listening to the vocal minority cry about it just like they cried about the empty 1pp only servers..... "all the servers with vehicles and mil spec loot are full, no one ever plays on our hardcore nothing to do servers... they need to make everyone play ours servers"

    Favorite Form Of Banditry?

    It depends on whether or not Im fully geared. If I need gear (which is rare) I will stalk someone, waiting for a good time to take a clean headshot to preserve the gear. If im fully geared then its just KoS everyone not in my sqaud.

    Just the other day I rubber-banded from the street to the second floor boarded up room in the police station. I had to have my friend come and kill me when I glitched my head out through the wall.

    Hell no. Lets see... which is easier and less time consuming? #1. Get force fed rotten fruit and run around sick for the next 2 hours looking for tabs only to die anyway #2. Go out fighting, respawn on a fresh server, run to the NEAF or Bolota and get geared up again in 30 mins. Im going to go with #2

    When do you expect to have an official release date?

    All the progress since day one? You're kidding right? Have you seen the state of this game? I got news for you. This isnt alpha.... this is pre-alpha development. The "alpha" access of this game was just a venture capital scheme funded by players to begin real development. When 80% of a game has yet to be developed that isnt alpha. SO to answer your original question..... release Q1 2017* *This is assuming it doesnt get crushed by other games coming into the market before that.

    The Community

    The problem isnt the community... the problem is the state of the game. There isnt anything do to in DayZ SA. This game literally has zero content. Its a simulator with nothing to simulate. A total empty shell There is no resource gathering, no meaningful crafting/building, no hint of a player economy. Everything that would organically create co-ops/interaction simply do not exist in the game at the moment and havent since day 1 of SA. The ONLY group activity in SA is roaming death squads hunting other players.. so thats what you get.

    Playing 1PP has made me a far better player

    Its funny, I think 1pp is far LESS immersive than 3pp. This is supposed to be kind of a mmo/fps hybrid right? Well there is a reason mmo's are 3pp. Its so you can see your character interacting with the world. Aside from that though there are 2 other reasons which make me have absolutely no desire to play this game in 1pp First of all the audio in this game is just fucked... there is no nice way of putting it. With such a small field of view in 1pp coupled with unreliable and glitched sounds your situational awareness is extremely limited. Secondly, as far as fps play goes, the controls and mechanics are way too clunky and slow to be effective at close range. Slow/Clunky mechanics + limited situational awareness = a very poor game experience IMO. Some people might want to call that "hardcore mode". I just call it "lame" This thread is essentially a backdoor attempt at the same tired crybaby 1pp only agenda. If you want to shackle yourself with those kinds of limitations be my guest... you dont need to justify it.... just do it. You dont see the 3pp players making threads telling you how to play your game or asking you to take the 3pp week challenge. I dont know why the 1pp crowd has to do it

    Your old rig has nothing to do with it. Melee combat in this game is beyond shitty.... its pathetically broken

    I would LOVE to get a look at the dev's sprint board. I think it would be interesting to see just how many sprint points (Dev time) have been used on items that NO ONE USES.... Sickle, pitchfork, farming woe, ashwood bow, WalkieTalkie, Amphidia S, improvised backpack, blood bags (because of the blood type system)... these are just off the top of my head. I bet the list is much longer. And you guys want them to spend more time creating something that less than 5% of the population will ever want or use ? At a time when there is literally F-all to do in the contentless game? It blows my mind

    No it doesnt... Lee sells hand reloading kits that dont require a press and consist of literally 5 little tools. They also lead cast bullet molds in very caliber I have a Lee turret press and Dillion progressive reloader in my garage right now.... its as easy as pulling a handle. 800 rounds of 9mm in an hour. And I wasnt suggesting removing ammo spawns, I was talking about adding reloading as an option as an example of something that might be useful

    People still use melee weapons in the current build of the game? The 357 + 5 boxes of ammo is the new fireaxe. Dont leave home without it.

    None... its a total waste of dev resources. The bow and crossbow were a big enough waste of time that dosent need to be repeated. I would rater see them implement ammo reloading benches/tools or any thing else useful rather than waste time creating content for the 35 or so "hardcore" survivalist wannabes that will end up using a fucking sling shot.

    All of this cry baby shit to attempt to curb spawn killing is MISSING THE POINT. The problem isnt too many guns or too much ammo or too much loot... The problem is that there inst F- all to do in the game at the moment, nothing. zero content. So what do people do? Kill fresh spawns for fun

    They have to force people into certain central areas to create action otherwise there would literally be NOTHING to do in this game. The map is simply too huge without any forms of transportation to have 40 players totally spread out. You would never see anyone and there isnt enough content yet for players to do anything meaningful expect PvP. Once they can get the server population up to 150+ and get vehicles in or create some game content that would drive players to areas organically ..... THEN they can randomize spawns all over the map

    Well I started with the vanilla MOD around the same time you did and moved to a few others ending with Epoch. When I say the MOD I mean all of the MODs taken in totality, not just the first MOD Rocket created which he actually left pretty early on and wasnt ever the most popular of all the MODS by the way. Its not so much that I think they have drifted away from the MOD because the reality is SA is an empty shell of a game with very little content in its current state, its that I don't agree with their development resource allocation. I would rater see them spending their sprint points developing the best features from all of the MODs rather than reinventing the wheel on what I see as bullshit. To me the fact they they seem to be focusing on these small ticket petty features tells me they know they are incapable of gettignthe big ticket features to work OR they never intended on adding them in which case I would see it as drifting away from the mods

    What I predict DayZ will achieve by the end of the year.

    I was thinking it would go the direction of the MOD... you know the thing that was so popular that it made this happen..... I wanted a polished, less exploitable, optimized, version of the MOD. But the reality is most of the best features of the MOD came to being AFTER Rocket left to do SA so I guess it as wrong to assume SA would have gone that way.
