Positively riveting. Not entirely smooth, but DayZ almost never is.

I don't know... let's hook you up first and shoot you in all your limbs, and then you can tell us if you think actually feeling like all your limbs have been blown off is the kind of gaming experience you want to have. Dude, do you know what it feels like to get shot? Not good, bro. How about get your leg broken? Entertainment value: 0. Nobody wants this. Nobody would ever want this. (Now, can you imagine the hackers who would love nothing more than to break into the "pain system" and make an entire server of players feel like they've just been doused in gasoline and set on fire?)

Mouse - Fire button / Left Click sticks randomly.

You might have some Dorito residue gumming up your buttons. Give the mouse a thorough cleaning. ;) -
Normally I'm the type to play real quiet and solo, getting all that sweet military loot before someone guns me down at the exact moment I'm least prepared. This time around I decided to try interacting with other players in a positive way, so I spawned on Musty Gaming's private hive, grabbed some farming gear and headed on down to Kamyshovo. What happened after that was some of the most interesting gameplay I've had in a while. I chose the backyard of a house with the only pump in town so I'd be able to water plants and be visible to any newcomers. I had hoped to have a little food ready before anyone came by to make it less likely that I'd simply get jumped, but of course it didn't go down like that. No sooner do I plant the final seed than does this imbecilic-sounding player (Went by Kool-Aid) comes running at me with an axe and gets in a lucky hit as I'm trying to greet him. So after a little running around (you all know how it goes), I surprise him with my brass knuckles, taunt his lifeless body and get back to gardening. I debated giving up, since it was likely that he'd just respawn back there, but oh well. The next two players to happen by were friendly, and we had a good time for several minutes as the plants matured. My guests were able to eat, and all was well. One of them brought over a copy of "Heart of Darkness", and read it aloud to us around the campfire I had started. Then the guy with the pickaxe showed up. Ignoring our greetings, he went straight to the only seated person, and murdered him. All hell broke loose after that, as we tried to avenge our fallen comrade, now lying dead with his book still clutched in his hands. More players appeared, and the pickaxe guy proved to be a deadly combatant, as he killed my friend, another, and finally me. Then the players with guns moved into town and all merriment ceased. Kamyshovo is a graveyard now, overgrown with rotten pumpkins and zucchini, their caretaker claimed by the ravages of the end-of-days.

9/10 would go back. 10/10 with a bag of rice.

I do agree with you. Some new terrain textures and vegetation would look nice. Not sure if Bohemia will be able to do it, but it would definitely look good. Also might cause people to want to wear different types of camouflage accordingly... and I like that.

I did indeed have a hoe. Shame on me for not thinking of bringing it out. I'm not great at thinking on my feet very often.
-
Indeed.. It might have been because I was having a lot of framerate problems yesterday. New Nvidia driver, and I had to go back and change some settings. But yeah he sure got us. I suppose he has a lot more practice at melee than players who sit around in a garden and read books.

Sorry Wolf Mask AKM Ghillie Guy With Red Arm Band

You wear a Payday mask, you get what you get. -
I have learned to appreciate DayZ as a journey, not a destination. This kind of thing happens to everyone. Best thing to do is just roll with it. Honestly, I think I would rather have lost my gear to a glitch instead of my latest... rather embarrassing death to a player.

I was on Musty Gaming last night trolling the coast in a V3S. Got shot at a few times, lots of dudes running around in the road, someone either flipped me off or gave a wave, I'm not sure which. I wasn't running people over until I saw this one naked guy in Berezino getting eaten by zed. I figured on ending his misery, but I felt bad after because he sounded like the nicest one of the bunch on the mic. The hit didn't actually kill him, though, and I didn't feel like it was safe to stop. Shame on me. Yeah, trucks are fun.

Good video, but might I suggest a few well-placed cuts when there's lulls in the action or important dialogue? Also, you have a constant hissing sound in your audio. Not sure what that's from. Maybe a bit of EMI in the area of your microphone?

A Tale of Betrayal - Sometimes, you can be too friendly...
Ubernaut replied to RanshiTV's topic in Gallery
Hah! Well, I'm an American here, so maybe I don't run into a lot of Brits, but I can surely tell sound of an American who is up to no good. Their voice will lack any kind of earnestness. They tend to sound ...kind of flat. Sociopathic. I'm sure you know what I mean. Anyway, I would be pleased as punch to run into you fellows in Chernarus. -
A Tale of Betrayal - Sometimes, you can be too friendly...
Ubernaut replied to RanshiTV's topic in Gallery
Ohh man, red flags all over the place. Yeah, you really -can- be too friendly. Biggest mistake was turning your back on him. Edit: The guy's voice over the mic supports my theory that you can hear if a person is the type to be a backstabbing twat. Interestingly, I've never been betrayed by anyone with a British accent. -
Username checks out.

Ubernaut replied to a_irish_fella's topic in General Discussion
Cook them first next time...or do what I do and carve up the meat and scatter it all around the body. It'll let everyone else know they're dealing with a cold-blooded psychopath. -
OMG LOL IKR? (Putting "lol" in a sentence like that undermines the credibility of anything you're saying. Don't do that lol.)

DayZ Experimental - Episode 4 - Bandit Gets Owned
Ubernaut replied to ForsakenSpirit (DayZ)'s topic in Gallery
Always lovely to see aggressors get theirs. I wish I had been recording a few weeks ago up in Chernya Polana, when this guy shoots me in the back with a crossbow and tries telling me to surrender. I had no weapons, but I told him to get fucked and ran. I barely got bandaged before I saw him coming after me through the woods with his crossbow. He had a zombie aggroed on him, so I decided to knock his ass out if I could. "Ya know what, buddy? You need to be taught a lesson." His next shot missed, and I dropped him. It's always sooo satisfying when you can use the mic to let them know they fucked up. -
Hemorrhaging, Tourniquets and Craftable Tourniquets
Ubernaut replied to cheeseburger8's topic in Suggestions
Problem is, if you've got to apply a tourniquet in the absence of a qualified surgeon... you're gonna lose that limb. The playerbase hasn't exactly come out in support of amputation, either. Basically it's like this: For gameplay's sake, we have to treat non-instantly-lethal shots as grazing wounds or fractures, because if it's anything more serious, you're history. May as well respawn, because hospitals and MEDEVACs are over. There is no help coming. -
Yes! I think you're right about this. Things definitely seem to be coming together.

Touchy times at Veresnik Military Base
Ubernaut replied to Johnny Depth's topic in General Discussion
What the fuck did I just read? I mean, I know what I read... but... damn, dude. Some weird people play this game. -
I understand your frustration. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5braVaanAMQ ...and if that doesn't work, maybe try logging off in the woods, somewhere hidden.
-
Talking about the mod. Back when I was still playing it, items could be thrown like tin cans, flares etc, and they would attract zeds.
-
This was something you could do in the mod with empty tin cans and things. You can bet it will be added around the time they fix zombies and their sight/sound detection AI.
