Morphine works too. Otherwise, just press F3 and have a sit-down and a little food. It'll subside. Edit: You might want to put a little Alcohol tincture on it, or take some tetracycline so you don't develop a nasty infection.

how many of you would kill this player.
Ubernaut replied to ososensual's topic in General Discussion
Your .45 doesn't have a mag in it. You quickly backpedal to the nearest cover, then you turn tail and sprint like all the Legions of Hell were after you. -
[SA] Clips, speedloaders, and realistic backpack damage.
Ubernaut replied to Jeffhole's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Nah, that's all right. I should've made my intent clear. Original post is a good idea. -
[SA] Clips, speedloaders, and realistic backpack damage.

Not correcting you. Just thought I'd elaborate for the kiddies out there who might not get it otherwise. And maybe one or two more of them will learn the difference when they themselves are talking. -
[SA] Clips, speedloaders, and realistic backpack damage.
Ubernaut replied to Jeffhole's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
A "clip" is just a device for holding rounds together. A "magazine" is the thing you insert into your firearm which springs the rounds into the chamber. Most people that use the word "clip" actually mean "magazine". As in, "30-round magazine". The More You Know -
help find my position in the map( image inside )

This shipwreck was north of Berezino along the eastern coast in the Mod. Might be different now, but I doubt it. -
Admin Password Hacked, then kicked everyone instantly
Ubernaut replied to PTG_Chef_uk's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
This exact thing happened on one server I was on last week. I'm sure they'll get it patched eventually. My character didn't suffer any harm, so if someone's going to be hacking I prefer they do it this way instead of going around killing people with cheats. -
I found your take on the subject to be an amusing read, but it brings nothing new to the table. We can't tell people to play the game a certain way. It's going to be up to the devs to implement new features that encourage a more cooperative style of play if they don't like the current in-game climate. Until that time, don't feel too bad for the Bambis. We all have to lose our innocence at some point. ^_^

However, if Rocket did decide elimination would be worth coding into the game, I DEMAND they include *this* as a craftable: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFzTm6fy_zs ^_^

I agree that field sanitation would be a major concern in the apocalypse, especially in the long run. However, I think this might be a little too much for the kiddies to handle. I can almost see the YouTube shenanigans now.

Oh my gawwwd! Not only did he combat log, but he did it with *attitude*!!

Beans for your idea, sir. I, too, am not a big fan of the idea of underground bases. It would feel too much like "instanced player housing" in MMOs. If you ever played on DayZ Mod servers that enabled basebuilding, it was a fantastic experience. Sure, abandoned/inactive player bases have to be cleared periodically for the map to not become cluttered, AND you have to have some areas (like the coast and major thoroughfares) that are no-build zones, but fortifying and defending a base are perfect for endgame. The problem is that your base is so vulnerable when you and your friends aren't online. I don't know if there is a way around that, besides traps.

My ideas/suggestions on KoS, sanity, humanity, combat loggers
Ubernaut replied to jasher11's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Sanity could be an interesting game mechanic. It was DayZ that got me to go back and read about Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maslow's_hierarchy_of_needs Obviously not everything translates to a video game, even one as in-depth as DayZ, but certain aspects of human physiology could still be abstractly represented, I think. Anything within reason that makes players act more like actual humans during their time in Chernarus, I'm probably for it. -
You need a buddy to use things like blood bags and saline. They have to administer it. If you're by yourself, go find food and water. You'll heal naturally, but you have to eat enough.

Entire thread is TL;DR TL;DR: TL;DR

It happens. One time I logged back in five minutes after logging off and I went from fully geared down to my undies. Not even a flashlight. Just because you got wiped, it doesn't mean everyone did, though.

After pretty much nailing down the energy/thirst mechanic.. Let's think long term:
Ubernaut replied to serenityrick's topic in General Discussion
I think DevilDog covered it pretty well. Good that someone's thinking about this. -
I'd say you need to lurk the forums more, friend. DayZ is still in development. There'll be more. Ohh yes.

Okay here's the problem : Gear Hoarding
Ubernaut replied to onebadbasterd's topic in General Discussion
Some people play for interaction, some people play for the feeling they get when finding that rare piece of equipment. Whatever our reason, it doesn't mean we're any less human than you are, OP. I don't agree with people raging on the forums about losing gear, but you're not going to tell someone what their motivations should be. -
My vote goes to the M4 Suppressor. In hours upon hours and many trips to military camps, I've only ever found one.

http://armytechnology.armylive.dodlive.mil/files/2013/03/Sniper-shooter-1024x682.jpg Are you so sure about that? Ghillie suits as craftable items are a nice idea. You do have one point, though. They should make the player overheat/fatigue if left on all the time. A nice bit of balance, that would be.
-
This has been beaten to death already, friend. No amount of rational discussion is going to quiet the hordes. Best to just ignore the kiddies.
-
Is it possible that your friend injected you with a syringe of something without your knowledge? (Re-read your post) Oh, right. Yeah it's probably a delayed reaction from your zombie scrape. If you can find some Tetracycline (antibiotic), that should also help. And a painkiller of course.

Possible solution to KOS, hear me out
Ubernaut replied to jan3sobieski's topic in New Player Discussion
The uncertainty you experience during an encounter with a random player is one of the unique facets of DayZ. It's been a thing since the beginning, and the game has remained popular regardless. I've suggested other ways KoS might be mitigated, but everyone seems to agree that things are mostly okay the way they are. New players do not seem to be being deterred. If you're really trying to find friendlies to travel with, organize a group in advance outside of the game world. -
Anyone else remember Grand Theft Auto 3? heh... The game *allowed* you to kill hookers. To the non-gaming world, it suddenly meant that Grand Theft Auto was a game *about* killing hookers. Anyone else see the correlation here?
