Let's look at what kind of long-range sense that would make for a studio like Bohemia: Not very much. DayZ is Bohemia's cash cow. That's like saying Notch didn't plan to develop Minecraft past "infdev" /thread

Wow, those radio towers will become deathtraps as the idiots swarm in, each hoping to record a string of racial epithets or crude jokes in the hope that someone will tune into that station just as their mother/wife/kids walk into the room to hear it.

I'm just gonna take a guess. Since Star Citizen doesn't have a publisher, they needed to hire additional people in order to do the things that a publisher normally handles. DayZ already has Bohemia backing it, and so they don't count all the Bohemia Interactive employees as members of their dev team. Again, this is kinda just a guess. Star Citizen has raised a LOT of money, and can afford lots of people. The game is enormous in scope, even compared to DayZ. -

No. Real permadeath in that sense does not constitute fun for me. Can you imagine the campers? The people who would do nothing but sit and snipe players in their first five minutes of the game, just for the sheer trolling joy of knowing they ruined someone's entire day like that? Nope. Nope. Okay, that kid was pretty dumb, but you also broke a few survival rules. Why were you standing in the middle of the road along a coastline? You're very lucky you weren't immediately shot. The whole exchange took way too long. The way the kid asked "Why the fuck aren't you..." should've been your first clue that he was secretly hostile. And when somebody says "wait wait wait!" when you're trying to leave... never listen. It means they need you to hold still for just a bit longer. -

From a technical standpoint, this doesn't sound feasible. Rocket's team is having enough trouble just getting zombies in the game in sufficient numbers. I'd say wait another year and suggest this again, when the Dev team has moved beyond the basics.

Hey now, I didn't say he was wrong to shoot the guy. But he's presenting this to us suggesting we give our opinion on his course of action. So I opine that taking an axe to someone who's obviously down for the count already is not justifiable through reasons such as "adrenaline" and "paranoia". The only honest reason you can give for doing that is "I like killing people." I mean, which is fine. -

I understand what OP is saying. There's so many people out there that will kill you if you hesitate even an instant to try and talk to them. If you're looting a building, better to just be ready to shoot on sight. Where I think the OP is wrong is where he took an axe to finish off the unconscious person. If he truly felt any remorse for having gone off on a helpless scavenger, he could've bandaged him up and... y'know... *not* taken an axe to his neck. So... overall, that was a dick move, OP. -
Ugh. No thanks to this idea. I want to play a survival simulation, not a torture simulation.

Elektro or Cherno are pretty certain to have other players if you're looking for interaction. And in DayZ's current state, "interaction" is synonymous with "PvP".
