I was on a server once and a player named "PENI" logged on and all the sudden, the song "Every Breath You Take" by The Police came on over the server (I had a friend in a different part of the map that reported hearing it as well). PENI then send a server wide message telling a specific player on the server that no matter what he did, he would be watching him. We got the whole thing on film so I'll see about getting it on youtube and linking it up. One of the creepiest hackers I've run into to date.

Found the Art of War and kept it in my hotbar until that character died. It's amazing how many of the topics covered in the book apply to DayZ

They plan on making every building openable and they're adding a bunch of new towns in the north (there's a new town in the experimental update) so hopefully we'll see some more variety

The suppressor is purely cosmetic right now, but let's not forget that the 5.56 NATO round is a supersonic round (meaning that it breaks the sound barrier). Even if you suppress the actual firing noise, it's still not going to quiet the sound of the supersonic round. A suppressed 5.56 round still registers at about 140 decibels, which by the way, is equivalent to the loudness of a jet engine and is the maximum amount of decibels safe for unprotected human ears.

I find that the people on low pop servers are usually more aggressive, because those are usually the guys just hopping from server to server to gear up -

My reaction to you is based on your reaction to me. If you call out friendly and aren't in an aggressive stance, i'm cool. If i see you hiding from me and generally looking like you're about to attack, then I react appropriately. I generally try to avoid killing fresh spawns though. -
I too have run into a shocking number of friendlies lately. My current character should probably be dead given the number of times a player has had the drop on me and NOT killed me. Sign of good things to come?

If you're far enough away that the grass isn't rendering, then hitting whatever target with you're Mosin is going to require a bit of knowledge and some skill. It isn't just aiming and shooting. I understand what you're saying and I get it, but I do not think it is currently imbalanced -

On a mid populated server up in the hills over Solnichy with my trusty mosin, new spawn runs into the town and i decided that instead i would mess with him. He stops for a second and i send a shot a few feet away from him. He immediately freaks out and starts running around. I send another shot to the left of him, and he stops and surrenders. I leave him there surrendered in the middle of town for what must have been 3 minutes without sending another shot. Finally, he gets up and flicks me off, at which point i put a bullet in his head. I didn't plan on killing him, but he challenged me! The gauntlet was thrown down and i HAD to pick it up!

Falling down a ladder and holding my breath for the next 5 seconds, waiting to see if i died or not. One of the most traumatizing experiences to date (and it happens quite commonly :D) -

Usually when you go into an action theres a brief option to "Cancel action", but it has never actually worked for me in terms of stopping whatever I'm doing

Character resets almost act as a way to steer new players away from server hopping. It was definitely effective on me... :D

"Nametags" on top of the player's head or in the bottom of the screen or wherever don't really fit with a game like this the way I see it. Now what I wouldn't mind seeing is a personal message (not server wide) that would appear and tell you who you were killed by when you die: "You were killed by xxxxx"

I don't get as mad about character resets as I used to. Now I just view them as a chance to experience DayZ all over again. It's all about perspective with stuff like this. Don't let it get the best of ya!

I love the idea of being able to sharpen melee weapons, I just don't know how I feel about the presence of swords. Other than that, great idea
