    So my friend and I were traversing a server, we had literally gone from one end of the map to another. We were pretty geared up with a a couple mosins and m4s when we reached a town. The server had not been reset in a while, so we decided to hop on to another server to increase our chances of getting loot. When we both logged on, we saw the dreaded "Ready Default" prompt and we were respawned on the beach with none of our gear. This happens on a fairly consistent basis to us, and it's extremely frustrating. Obviously it's still in alpha, but I was wondering if this is a common issue among other players as well, or we're just doing something wrong.

    You usually won't find too much Mosin ammo around military bases, mostly just m4 and .45. 7.62s can be found there occasionally, but the best place to find them is usually residential and fire stations

    While Balota usually does have some pretty nice and military grade loot, i usually find it as a secondary source of that kind of stuff. If i spawn near it, sure i'll drop in the air base, but otherwise, the international air base way up north is where i usually find all of my good gear. And like the op was saying, that's a good incentive to get people moving north.

    I agree in that i really see no value in my life aside from just a transportation method for my gear. If ever I was confronted by a group of bandits, i would take my chances and try to kill them before getting handcuffed and losing all my gear

    I agree that there should definitely be a better character saving model, i've respawned and lost all my gear when joining a server for no reason too many times

    Found one in a slightly larger than usual residential building in Kozlavko, in my experience they tend to spawn around those areas a lot
