Neutral safe zones that physically prevent combat
Ineedscoffee replied to alleycat's topic in General Discussion
Prevent combat? What world do you live in? Son you could be in church, at your wife's funeral, and someone could still deck you. All things like this do, is keep honest people honest. Crap doesent work your average joe that doesent give two craps about staying off your lawn. -
100man servers... my biggest fear has been realised.
Ineedscoffee replied to Cenobyte's topic in General Discussion
Far as I'm concerned, long as streamers like Lyric keep it up, were screwed. Don't get me wrong, I love the guy, and watch him while I play. The people he brings in however, are worthless. All he and his viewers do is stick to the coast, running about attacking people on sight with fists, axes, etc. While it may be great advertising, as 8000 plus people see it daily, it's giving the wrong idea of the game. Streamers like Sacriel do it right. Granted he's arrogant in his view of first vs third person, he's at least teaching proper survival up north. Until these wing chunning, coast humping asshats learn, just stay north folks. Large servers will be amazing once you break away from the mess down south. To all you new players, you come north into my yard with a payday mask, and military rat gear, I will shoot you without blinking. -

how is waking up without your manhood not your biggest fear?......... -
theres a difference between bandits and barracks rats
-
Found this baby out north of Lopa, in an un-looted storage unit. It goes beautifully with the hunter's backpack as well. Now i just need to find a green Ushanka :)
-
Lol you can't take the sky from me?
-
Think it's more of a fashion statement then a functional piece of gear lol. Yes, it would drown you also.
-
I see full camo/military rat gear, and I know what type of person I'm about to shoot. They run from barracks to barracks, fully willing to punch/axe/shoot someone for a slight hardware upgrade. They want that space for ammo, gun attachments, saline and blood bags. Hardly even worry about food and water. They wear the hunting pack, green helmets, gas masks. They then scurry south to the beach to hunt Bambi's. If north, they are camping in the trees, hunting each other, shooting anyone who may cross their sights, if even by accident. I know these wanna be Joes, and I shoot them on sight. Beats the alternative.

For me, it's anyone dressed in brown cargo pants, white checker shirt, brown work gloves, a brown beenie/green ushanka, burlap backpack or kids blue/green pack, and work boots. I trust that outfit lol. If I see a firemans axe, or m4, your dead. Any form of weapon in hand and ready, your dead. I generally don't shoot first, and tend give the benefit of the doubt. That said, I'm a very quick shot, and always clear a building with a firearm leveled and ready. If you round a corner and bump into me, two things will happen. I'll see a weapon up, and I'll fire, or I won't see one. And I'll try to communicate as you scurry away for safety.

I only want to play with rain, solution ?
Ineedscoffee replied to TimM1983's topic in General Discussion
Someone told me long ago There's a calm before the storm, I know; It's been comin' for some time. When it's over, so they say, It'll rain a sunny day,I know; Shinin' down like water. I want to know, Have you ever seen the rain?I want to know, Have you ever seen the rainComin' down on a sunny day? -
It's already appealing baby ;)
-
Couple thing's 1 your average joe isn't smart enough nor calm enough to look for someones breath. 2 grew up in Alaska, you'd be surprised how quickly and easily a minor climate shift can cause your breath to appear visible.

Tis brown in game, I promise. Orange is Significantly different.

eh, i ran across someone on the ewok server earlier tonight. he was out of food, so i popped a can of beans. and left it on the ground. wished him well. no repercussions either.

While new additions are nice, I'd prefer it in the form of storage and accessories. A rifle sleeve for one, tactical thigh holster for the fnx for another. Attacking a compass to your belt loop. Belts may also increase movement speed by keeping your drawers up, and used to tie off wounds, stop bleeding, secure backpacks, etc. having a survival knife strapped to the outer side of your jungle boots is easily feasible to. Unless you roll your ankle. On that subject, I'd love my old survival knife I had growing up. Thing had a compass on the bottom, metal hilt, hollow with enough room for line, matches, etc. also had the back serrated for cutting light branches.

Lemme guess, you like that John Wayne idea of being a cowboy. Always riding off into the sunset with the boys, spending time around the campfire with the boys. Sleeping under the stars with the boys, going into town with the boys, ignoring women so you can drink with the boys. See where I'm going here? Also, no "cowboy" alive or dead, could of carried a Canadian lumberjacks jock, jack.

loving it. seems they upped the weather system a bit. also, anyone know if zeds still walk through walls and doors?
-
Not me :p

I'm running a 199.99 card from best buy, 4 massive gigs of DDR3, and a 2.6dualcore. Most graphics are set to high to. Not sure how people could be having problems with said rain. And my god was it bleak. The lightning needs a color tweak. Bit to yellow atm. Just love the feel it brings to the game. House crawling in an abandoned town, with a thunderstorm at noon: tis a game changer.

Try heading north. if your on the coast, your there for one reason.

The new logout system is bad. Very, very bad.
Ineedscoffee replied to Grimey Rick's topic in General Discussion
played wow since early 05. our dayz logout system is fine. what most of these metzen fanboys seem to forget to mention, is that in wow, you also have instant logouts in designated areas. not only that, your able to log in and out at will without penality, unless your in combat. stop comparing it to dayz. our system here prevents ghosting and combat logging to a degree. also, the blue genie watery thing is a water elemental, just ignore it, and save your cooldowns :P -
I don't care how rare it is, im not wearing it :P
