[BUG] No Loot in Military Camps

I have not found ANY loot in the tent areas outside airfields. I was on a server with 3 people. Nobody had been to or touched the NWAF since I got there. Went through every tent, and NOTHING. Usually I find a magazine or a buttstock, but this time was absolutely nothing. Even when people show up to loot they always leave 1 or 2 items behind.. must be bugged.

    Dayz banned arma 2

Possible, but not likely. When these cheat websites steal passwords for specific games, they market whatever tool, hack, enhancer SPECIFICALLY for that game. It allows them to narrow the people who download it rather than getting a shotgun scatter of different games. They will upload a video to youtube claiming a wallhack or whatever for Arma2 then when you download the program it steals your Arma2 key and replaces it with a banned key in your registry. That way your stolen Key doesn't come back as "in use". The best thing to do is completely un-install and re-install your game using the proper cd key. Hopefully your new one isn't in use or banned yet. Either way, glad these people are getting what they deserve for even ATTEMPTING to cheat. Serves them right.

    Dayz banned arma 2

Which means he tried cheating on both, or downloaded a cheat program for Arma 2 and tried running it while playing SA. One cheat, 2 bans.

    Dayz banned arma 2

The only way a hacker can steal your keys is if YOU downloaded a cheat/hack program and ran it. It's your own fault for trying to cheat and getting caught. I have no sympathy for you, if it costs you an extra $30 then so be it. Maybe you'll learn your lesson.

Funny, because those M44 compensators can't be used on the M91/30 Mosin rifles in the game. Only the shorter M44 Carbine rifles can. Wonder if we'll be getting that version of the Mosin as well?

Did they add the SKS Rifle?

I just saw 7.62x51 ammo box (white ammo box) in a military prison. However, have not seen any 7.62x39 ammo. With Rocket being a military man, I highly doubt he'd be so careless as to give wrong ammo types to certain firearms.

Pc build for Dayz and future gaming

Since this has turned into a CPU build jerk-off thread, I'll try to veer it back on track. Honestly I would stay away from AMD all together. People say you get a better bang for your buck, but these people aren't educated in how these processors work. They see big core and big Ghz numbers and say "For this price you can get a better AMD chip than intel" This is wrong in several ways. They calculate cores/clock speed differently so it's comparing apples and oranges. Both are fruit, but different kinds completely. If you calculate dollars per calculation Intel will give you the best bet. There is a reason high end servers use Intel, not AMD. Here is a list of high end CPUs. http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html AMD's top end is still #27 overall. That should tell you how 'good' they are. Your AMD chip will work fine for Dayz, but future proofing? You'll end up spending more on another processor in 12 months.. because by then, the 8320 won't be able to hold up. Save up and spring for a decent i7. It may cost a little more, but will last longer in terms of being adequate for gaming. For your video card, I wouldn't recommend anything lower than a GTX 700 series card. Yeah a 600 will run the game, but you run into the same problem as AMD chips. It will do for now, but you'll spend more in a year upgrading again. In the long run, it's cheaper to just future proof the whole machine now rather than buying cheap parts and replacing every 12 months.

    Character roll-back after new patch?

I got lucky, died a few days ago with full gear. Server reset me back to that state. Yay, cut down on a few hours of re-gearing.

Other than using AMD, it's alright I suppose. Budgets are budgets.
  18. Just like the title says, how do you survive in Dayz? Bandit? Murderer? Scavenger? Hero? Squad Militant? Lone Wolf? Clown?

    ACOG Zoom

So let me get this straight, when you're "zoomed in" with your eyesight, that's 1x.. but when you're running around normally you're considered "zoomed out"? I'm sorry but that sounds completely wrong. When running around normally, that's 1x magnification. When you "zoom in" with your eyesight, you're magnifying higher than 1x because 1x will ALWAYS be your baseline. That's the definition of 1x, it means you're not zoomed in. At all. No magnification. Whatsoever. When you zoom in with eyesight, you add that to your baseline, you don't make it your new baseline just because you're not using a scope. You sir need to take a class on how magnification works. 1x will always mean ZERO magnification. When zooming in without a scope, you're MAGNIFYING YOUR SURROUNDINGS from what is considered default. Default in Dayz is not the same as ArmA, they use the same engine, but your default sight is what you run around with. That is considered 1x. You can't zoom in 3x with eaglevision and start calling that 1x and say that scopes need to magnify THAT by another factor of 4.

    ACOG Zoom

Really? Because I was always led to believe that zoom is anything beyond zero. Zoomed eyesight is the equivalent to squinting at a far object. Scopes in real life are measured exactly the way I posted above. If the game measures zoom in a different way, then it is not accurate to real life. You're basically saying that magnification only starts counting after you've already zoomed in on something using eyesight.

    ACOG/M68 Zoom explained

I keep seeing people claiming that the ACOG does not provide the full magnification advertised. Some people (like Dayz gamepedia) claim that it is only a 1.56x magnification. I decided to do a little testing of my own using a simple post on the side of the road. Here are my results. Feel free to duplicate this experiment if you'd like. Using only screenshots and Paint to add the words, other than that no other enlargement or manipulation to the images. Direct copy/paste from screenshot gallery. Edit: If you changed your FOV, then you will not get the same results. This could be why some don't see proper magnification.

Depends on the ACOG model, not all are the same. Civilian models differ from military models, and they differ by year as well.

    Mosin Accuracy?

I've hit people 700+ It's not that hard with a pristine scope and bipod. If you know how to adjust for elevation and hold your breath then you can easily make those shots. I've sniped people in Balota from the apartment buildings behind the airfield, that's between 500-700m
