I'm not sure if your statement is in response to my post, but to be clear if there is a bug it is the fact that if there is a fracture there should be a red 'Fracture' status icon in the inventory/ragdoll UI. Yes, I do believe the 'armPainAche' text message is a placeholder until they develop other messages (I.e. 'I feel a strong pain in my arm'). But again, if there is a fracture, then one would assume the fracture icon would appear as well: that would be a bug in my opinion. Not the fact that you can get arm fractures or the text messages. Anyway, in my case I used morphine and the symptoms and text messages went away.

I received this message today on experimental (0.37.115791) but don't understand how it can be an arm fracture as others have suggested. There is a 'Fracture' status icon in-game and yet none is displayed after this message appears. In addition, when you take painkillers nothing happens. I don't see why one should waste a morphine auto-injector when this is something that should heal itself or go away after taking painkillers. I view this as a symptom of a deep bruise and not a fracture. Anyway, there is a bug report at the Feedback Tracker: http://feedback.dayzgame.com/view.php?id=9370.

Can confirm that I got similar results with pistol flashlight on HC experimental. I.e. get 'turn on' option but light will not come on when selected nor will the contextual menu options change (I.e. 'turn on' will not change to 'turn off'). Did not bother taking the flashlight off and do not possess an M4 weapon flashlight. -
Should the dot crosshair be removed from hardcore servers?

The dot is not a crosshair it is a targeting reticle for action: this has been mentioned before in other forums. I.e. the dot doesn't represent where your gun is aiming, it is merely the center of your screen and helps delineate which object you will interact with on action. -

One of the developers posted a link to an online survey a while back: post, with survey link, can be found here. However, it was closed but I would assume that they will continually seek feedback from the community in the future: whether via surveys, informal information gathering (I.e. reading the forums), or feature requests via the FeedbackTracker. -
Four hours is the time-frame. For the server I've played on primarily (US 0-07) it restarts at 59 past the hour, every four hours. The most recent reset was at 11:59AM EST....which means its due to reset...now!

The regular-mode, US-based experimental server I'm on reset a few hours ago: roughly the same time as yesterday. And I was on a regular-mode, UK-based server last night and it reset (around 9PM, EST). -

Yeah, originally the experimental was called 4782 but probably due to some hotfixes it was changed to 4855. I noticed this when after Steam downloaded the experimental branch patch (~300MB) it downloaded another 30MB. And if look at a lot of the verbiage BIS is still calling it 4782 in some places but 4855 in others. I.e. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/169526-pending-changelog-experimental-branch-033114782/ (the title of the thread says 4782 but at the top of the first post, Rocket calls it 4855). -

I think the 'stomach pains' are an interesting addition: just another reason to be mindful of your energy level. In regards to what I would like to see would be fixes to Zombie pathing/glitching and overall melee combat. I'm sure everyone has their story but an anecdote for me would be yesterday on the experimental I was in the factory outside of Dolina, got zombie aggro, ran for the holes in the wall on the south side, went prone to crawl through, only for the zombie to glitch through the wall and beat on me. Instead of being rewarded for knowledge of an exit point, it became a detriment. But the developers have mentioned this so I'm confident it will be fixed: just rather it be sooner, than later. I'll also echo Rancor's comment to some degree: without loot respawns, which would coincide with zombie respawns no doubt, the game is more luck-based. I don't think it is unplayable, but rather it rewards people for luck. Did you spawn right after a reset? Was there a weapon, or critical item, that spawned in an nearby spawn point? If yes, your survival rate has dramatically increased. And since there is very little skill in the actual acquisition of loot (I.e. there is no 10 minute boss fight for the item to drop), luck overshadows skill IMHO. -

I honestly don't know how to survive other than killing other players if the server won't restart since loot won't respawn. The second character I had on the experimental died of starvation and I ran Solichniy-Orlovets-Factory-Polana-Gorka-Dubrovka-Gvozdno and I didn't find any edible food. I eventually ate two pieces of rotten fruit because I felt the risk of food poisoning was better than death. -

Yes, but it is more sudden than the normal 'Red chain, then counting up to 90 seconds.' The server I was on reset a couple of hours ago: it seems as if they reset when it gets about sunset. I got a 'session lost' message and when I logged back on, the server had reset. -
There are two bug reports, visual in nature, dated today for the suppressor; which means that people are looting them. I haven't seen any in-game but I would like to know if they actually 'work' from anyone who has found one. Post-patch, found two: one in the two story building with a piano (on the shelf conveniently next to a box of ammo) and on the floor of the two story building with two contiguous rooms off of the hallway. -

I agree that spawn rates of loot, and some items in particular, have changed but I have not had any issues. Normally I use a kitchen knife or screwdriver until I find a can opener (I've also used my axe when/if I have one). -

Most, if not all, servers are on GMT. You can see what time it is 'in-game' in the server browser under the column....you guessed it, 'Time.' Note it is listed in military time. -

Originally had character rolled back post-patch, had character wipe this morning and after noon server reset, character was wiped once more. IP for server is 108.61.104.11. Thanks for the support and hard work. Cheers. -

New town North of NE Airfield: picture is taken looking Northwest while standing on the outskirts of town. DayZDB has loot markers on its map for the town but I did not see any loot at all: not even secondary loot that people don't loot (I.e. books). Therefore it may not have loot available on the stable release. -
I just checked in-game and the shoulder stock has the company name, MAGPUL, in the description. But it still may be a licensing issue nonetheless.

Whenever I am farming the NWAF tents, I tend to low-crawl most of the time: less sound that crouch-walking. If I'm really paranoid I will roll, using the default 'Q' & 'E" keys, as it makes no sound at all. I've crawled out of a tent with a zombie right in front of me and they didn't move: so the night can be a boon or a bane. But in regards to your scenario, and as others have suggested, they may have just heard and seen your silhouette. You know which tents people tend to favor and you can camp at the end of the 'lane' and fire indiscriminately. As you said, you could hear them firing in the death screen which implies that they were firing in a direction as they did not know whether they hit you or not. -

I'd also say random although I have never found one, to my recollection, in a house. The first aid kit contains an IV start kit, two bandages, syringe, blood bag kit, and water purification tablets. And I've found almost as many IV Saline bags (I.e. a saline bag combined with IV start kit) as I have found saline bags by themselves.

In my opinion, the current compass is an example of over-design.

I can't speak for the old implementation as I never played the mod, but the way it is in the SA is very realistic. You 'shoot an azimuth' by aiming the compass in the direction of interest while holding it steady and away from the body/gear so as to avoid interference. Honestly the animation is very similar to what I would do when in the service. Doesn't have to be that way, but from my perspective, it is very 'realistic.'- 135 replies
