Abandoned the project? Which is why he's planing on being lead til the end of the year (10 more months) but will stay around after that for when he's needed. Also if what I've read has been interpreted properly then he isn't leaving the project all together and may well be taking on another role within the team. What are you, 12? Get a grip on yourself.

I think you'll find 3PP isn't cheating, it's a feature of the game and another way of playing. People can play the game how they want to, that's why there's the option.

1st of all, don't worry about bans or anything, after Dean Hall got the ok from Bohemia to lead the StandAlone project he handed off the Mod to the community. Epoch is just one of those "DayZ variations" that came from it. So it's all good to talk about it. Your inability to enter 3rd person and your lack of a floating crosshair suggests to me that you may have your server filter set to Hardcore Servers, so you may want to check with that. Also you'll be able to tell if 3rd person is enabled if, somewhere in the description, it says "3PP:ON". I think this response answers your other queries adequately enough. Definitely review the controls lists, you may find an action that you want to use that isn't mapped or you may want to change your mappings if you aren't comfortable with them the way there are.

Afraid not pal. In fact a good proportion of us have encountered the exact opposite since the hotfix.

But there's nothing we can do about it and I'm pretty sure it's not Deans call either.

I'm neither here nor there on the matter. I'm not going to get all keyboard warrior on someone that chooses to use it. Like has already been said, it's a glitch that will most likely get sorted out eventually.

Find plenty of food and drink and alternate ingesting the two until you are full, Once it says you are full you should get the healing indicator come up in your inventory. That's the sign that your Blood and Health level is starting to go up on it's own. If your character is making any random noises as you go about then you are at risk of becoming sick from your wounds. Try and use the Alcohol Tincture on your wounds along with painkillers to help get rid of it. If the message comes up after that your "wounds are cleaner now" or something along the lines of "my wounds feel better" then you're well on your way to getting your colour back. I found that regularly cleaning my wounds until the bottle was empty (say over a 30 minute period) on top of staying nourished helped my character along allot quicker than just following one course of action. And welcome to DayZ.

The acronyms stand for Private Military Company, Army of the Czech Republic (I got that one wrong it's ACR not ACE) and British Armed Forces. While the British Armed Forces isn't a big deal the other two will stop most of the missing .pbo errors that you'll encounter as those objects are contained in those DLC's. The British one is more beneficial if you are on a custom modded server that utilizes rMod and rMod2 (which you'll also need to download to access that content on the server as it's not standard in the @DayZ folder). As for the rest of your queries: To run rather than walk, you can double tap the "SHIFT" key to toggle between run and walk. or similarly you can just double tap and hold "W" to run but you will go back to default when you let go. On a standard server you will be lucky if you start with anything more than a Flashlight, 1 Bandage and possibly a can of food and drink. Some will give you more depending on just how difficult the server is set up to be. For example our Proving Grounds server (a heavily modified version of Overwatch) has AI bandits, AI Heroes and AI Survivors (as well as Zeds), that will react to you depending on how you choose to play. However the bandits are really tough and have a base or two along the coast and are a bitch to deal with so we start you of with a Tazer and a couple of cells for it as well as a couple of ToolBelt items to help you get past them and inland. Also as a fresh spawn you Halo Jump in, kinda like the beginning of Predators. It's not for the newer players though as it was designed to be really unforgiving. As for hand to hand fighting. The mod (so far as I know) never came around to implementing fisticuffs, although if you find a Hatchet, Machete or Crowbar, you can take them off your belt (if you have no primary weapon) and use them as melee weapons, although it's highly discouraged because they aren't very reliable. Hope I answered your questions :).

Yeah, after researching the best way to get the mod working (before I bought anything) I opted to buy a DRM free version of Arma2:Complete and just use DayZ Commander to manage anything to do with the mod. Just out of curiosity you have the PMC, ACE and BAF expansions too don't you? As not all the weapons are in Arma2 and Operation Arrowhead alone. The Steam version of Arma2 is notoriously awkward to get DayZ to work on properly. However, once you get it working it's great. Best bet would be to get a friend who has it working to access your computer via TeamViewer to set the folders up for you and check you have the right patches installed.

Not all were wiped, I maintain that my character has been alive for 50+ days real time... look for =FOX= Sgt Damocles on Steam and look at the date I uploaded my photo and read the description It's the only one on there so you can't miss it. Sometimes 2 hours in a session, sometimes upto 8 but I make sure I come on at least once a day. I play almost exclusively on our own server too which levels out at around 20 - 25 players through the day, so it's not like I'm running around on my own (although since most of our players roam the coast I'm fairly safe. And that's not to say I haven't come close to dying once or twice at military bases. The trick is to spot people before they spot you... and avoid them, if you can. Depends on a few other factors really, how long I can get in between work, sleep and bringing up a 5 year old. Also being PR representative for the clan/gaming community I'm a part of tends to take me away from playing when I'm having to do Rep stuff across our other servers and multiple forums. If I could put more time in I would.

When was the last time you updated your audio drivers?? Could be an issue linked to that.

If they implement the effect of item weight to SA (like in Epoch) then I don't really think this mechanic would work. I mean, have you tried carrying a car door over a long distance? You're talking around 34kgs just for that alone...
