Different types of zombies and in different stages. Walkers, runners, crippled ones, half blown away crawling on the floor, missing limbs. What better way to have a 1 on 1 with a Z and your trusty samurai sword and chop off some limbs. Speaking of wich, the aiming could also be better. sometimes I'm fighting with a Z and swinging my axe and nothing is happening not able to hit them or their dodging skills are at a 100% because of their undead spastic reflexes :P oh and the sounds they make should be a little more diverse, they all keep making the same kind of noise. You could also feature a different sound for a different kind or stage the zombie is in. Or would love to be able to loot or scavange a zombie and use their blood to make a poison, use their bones for something or use an arm as a blunt weapon...ROFL....

Every item in the game has a "state" (Pristine, worn, badly worn, badly damaged etc.) You can still use it, but you don't know or can't see how much is left or how much bonus you get from the item untill it's completly gone and unable to be used. For example in Dead Island, you have a weapon that is a 100% you hack and slash your way through a horde and you see the blade bend and break, you check the state of the weapon and see when it's like 30%. You go to a workbench and you can repair or upgrade the weapon so you can make it tougher, make weapons mods etc. I hope something similar will be featured in DayZ

Show wear&tear of clothes/item/weapons
MCRoadkill replied to MCRoadkill's topic in General Discussion
Yeah but you can still use them, wich is pointless. It should break down and disappear or even give you a debuff. Same for the 0% bananas, apples and cans :P -
Throughout the game you can pick up food/items/clothes/weapons etc. But what I'm missing is the lack of stats that item features, apart from knowing the function of some items with a faint description, i would like to know what buffs i get from wearing a helmet, working gloves or else i could just wear a beanie cap. I expect it protects me from Z attacks in some form, but by how many...i don't know. Then again, different items/clothes should have buffs and debuffs, by wearing a gasmask decreased vision, heavy breathing, get hot. wearing a motorhelmet you get hot/tired very fast when running, same goes with pants and shoes. When is it best to use Wellingtons, use army boots, horking boots, athletic shoes. I would assume when you go up/in a hill/mountain in hiking/working/military boots you get a climbing bonus/buff, when using athletic shoes you get a running buff, when using working boots for running you get a running debuff. wearing a backpack depending on the size of slots and items in them should give you a speed debuff, the more stuff you carry the the slower you get. Eating an apple, tuna, drinking water, energy drink or cola should feature different buffs and debuffs. Too much sugar intake, you get a buff but after you get a sugar crash or get obese. Wich weapon is better for what purpose, be able to compare weapons stats like distance, accuracy etc, different kinds of bullets etc. and defintly not be able to run indefintly, build in a recover moment to catch your breath/stamina. Or be able to take drugs and make you last longer but also give side effects.

The game features a lot of misc. items like pens, paper, shovels, etc. Apart from writing a note (or sticky note), does the pen or paper have an other function? Use it to stab a Z or use it for draining blood? Then if you have misc. items like that then why not also introduce stuff like toothpaste and a toothbrush. Because even after DayZ you still pay attention to your dentals :P The shovel, would be cool you could make a stash by digging a hole and hiding your stuff by buring it. The first aid kits you see lying around, you can take the stuff out that's in them, but you can't equip the first aid kit as a bag or strap it on you as a "fanny-pack" with a belt or straps, because it still functions as a 6 slot bag and it could be very usefull when you need that extra space or are running light.

I know you can use a pen as a weapon, i've tried :P not very succesful on a Z about the dirtly needle, you can also force feed someone a rotten kiwi ;) (it's not pretty...) why not be able to craft something with it, a trap to catch animals like a rabbit. Make ammo out of it for a blowpipe, combine it with a feather and use it on a PVC pipe. Like a native :P

Stackables: You rip a t-shirt in to pieces, the stackes only go up to 6... is this going amount going to increase? But why can't the same type of bandages be stackables as well? Same goes for pills, paper etc. or why is it not (yet) possible to fill one bottle of water with the other so you can make one bottle out of two bottles of water and fill the other. Clothes, I've noticed that you can wear a T-shirt but when you find a hoodie you trade it in for you t-shirt. I don't know about you guys buy i wear a hoodie over my t-shirt. It makes more sense that that goes over your t-shirt and a jacket/coat goes over your hoodie. But then are you going to introduce socks, that make you walk/hike/run better?

stackable items and wearing clothes over the other

Sure I believe that as well, but If no one suggests it ;) -
LOL, you read my mind. I just mentioned it in this topic http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/157750-mosin-scope-and-binoculars/

Proposed changes to weapon handling, debuffs, accuracy, tradeoffs etc.
MCRoadkill replied to franzuu's topic in General Discussion
Good points :) PS. why would I find an American M4A1 in Russia where it's more likely to find loads of AK-47's or AK-74's (wich ever version you like best). -
I wish you had binos, that would make it a lot easier. Then I found a weapon scope and hoped I could use it as a bino...but no I could not. Wich is pretty weird because you could. I found my Mosin in the apartment building with the statue in the front in the factory area above Cherno.

LOL. I was just killed and respawned, right after respawn I was drinking at a pond and right away someone wanted to take me hostage. I said, "I have nothing I just respawned" and he said sorry, let me go and also said sorry he could not give me anything..hehehe.

In the end I think this game will become a community based game, dev have to listen to the players. That's what binds players to a game, dev that listen to them (if it makes sense ofcourse ;) ) If they don't listen of just stick to their idea, players will leave and will not encourage other players to play it and eventuatly the game will die out. But considerd where they game from with the MOD, I don't think that will happen.

Yeah! because i've noticed there is a penalty for eating raw rice, you get thirsty and have to drink :P
-
Isn't it just a small and big one that only let's you use it longer? Does it have a different purpose? Yeah, creating fire places. I had wood, matches and an axe. I imagened you apply the axe to the wood logs to create smaller ones, maybe some accelant like alcohol and match, start a fire and then add a block of wood. But then would you be able to cook on it? You would need a grill over the fire to place a cooking pot on it or else it would just be floating.
-
You need water to boil rice or else you get rice crispies i've tried as well, but I did not succeed. So just drop the stove on the ground out of inv. or is it an action? Because I wanted to eat cooked rice. So there i was with a bag of rice, a bottle of water, portable stove, a cooking pot and a canister of gas. portable stove+gas canister=a set I can't place the stove on the ground or can put the cooking pot on the stove as a set. could not fill the cooking pot with water and could not fill the pot with rice. So then I started to chew the raw rice and hoped for the best I didn't lose any teeth :P

On the other hand it's pretty weird that bandages have multple uses, the moment you open the package and use it as a whole after that the rest is nothing more than a rag because it lost it's sterile effect. But for me i personally think that a can of tuna or sardines should also be a one time use, because once opened...they should go bad after a period of time and i havent seen a fridge that works in the game :P I don't know it you ever tried to run with an open can of sardines, tuna, or beans in your backpack...it gives a hell of a mess. -
Well me and my friend were wondering if we could trade stuff wich each other a sort of trade interaction screen. Now we're just dropping stuff on the ground, wait ages for it to appear and then pick it up. So yeah I would like a trade option :)
-
The moment you spawn you should find a pond, stream or pump and just soak yourself. Drink as much as you can untill the orange/yellow sign is gone. Then you can go a long while, but then you need food. What I do find weird is the indefenite running without me need to drink. I ran non-stop from Cherno to Elektro and didn't need a drink of need to rest. If i would do that in RL...:(

No problem :) Those were just my thoughts and could maybe help improve the game through community feedback
