Skyline-GTR: People like you love to be against something and beat someone in a disscussion on the internet. But 95% of your argumentation against the op is just invalid - but thats ok because not everyone can have the same intelligence quotient. So u ll not stop arguing but pls carcinovich dont waste your time with him your idea is great - its awesome in all aspects and i dont see why devs shoul not implement it ... it would improve gameplay so much -

good point, but you need to find more of these "knowledge based progressions" to really hurt a player when he dies. if you find more that could mabe be an even better solution but i think there arent that many.

how do you want to solve the problem that dieing is the same as losing gear? to be against an idea and have a better way to solve an issue is one thing, but to simply say "its bad, i dont like it!" is another

The status text for unable to repair something would be more like "I have no idea how to fix this..."... and for the guns: you are right, i also thought about shaking (not making the gun mor inacurate)

The goal here is not to give players the ability to do things faster in the first place. More to give them a reason and a need to stay alive. Therefore a visualisation how good you already are would strengthen these feelings (to stay alive). I know that the ui should be a minimum but a tab on the top on your inventory where you can switch to a progresspage would not hurt anyone and new players can see faster what they already have achieved.Edit: and you are right that the improvements should not be gamebreaking big. But on the other side if they are so little that you say "meh yolo i dont need that extra bandage second" then the whole system is also useless.

How about start fixing broken things first? :) (sounds general, silencer, bayonet, weapon attachments flickering), anyway tents would really bring life to the map again -
The problem with your idea is that kos guys often dont kill you for your gear, they just kill you because they are afraid of loosing their gear or just shooting anything that moves.

In the early developement-plans of dayz standalone dean mentioned that he plans to expand the map to the SE by simply adding the tutorial island of arma2 into the chernarus map. Is this feature still planed or got it canceled?

Stupidest rule ever - sry but i hate it when people write that rule down. Atm dayz at its current state is preatty much social interactions and gear (u feel better with high end gear).The rule should be: if you die, take it like a man

Which update? - would help to specify the problem. there is currently a huge fps bug being fixed i think it is on the experimental build atm. It could be your bug.

Update (16/1): Player Proximity DeSync Issue (Solutions/Workarounds!)

The main problem here was the stacking of containers- i have stacked around 8 of the yellow protector boxes and had the described desync (was not able to interact with anything, also the other players in my networkbubble then got the same problem) i fixed it by dropping all boxes and joining another server. Anyway since stacking is no longer possible this issue is no longer a problem and should be closed (i hope so) -

to all the wisely guys saying "dont trust anyone": so KOS is the only option then -> well done u got a survival shooter without communication (why is there even a voip function then? oh yeah because dayz should be more then just shooting anyone who apears in front of u), great... this group was just a punch of dickheads shooting everyone they dont know, there should be a punishment implemented asap because 80% of the people act like total ideots if they havent any rules (laws) preset which they have to follow. (now the stage is open for the "this is only a game" and the "omg u cant restrict my gamestyle just because i shoot everyone" flamers) -
ok the fix for your problem is: - go to your Dayz config file (C:\Users\[username]\Documents\DayZ\DayZ.cfg) - select windowed mode by changing the row "Windowed=0;" to "Windowed=1;" - save the file, start shadow play and then start the game - when you are in the main menu simply press "alt+enter" to change back to fullscreen - shaddowplay should now work
