First off, you get "SICK" for a limited time, don't ask me why (I ain't no docta). You get a few messages as time goes by - something like "My wounds look better". Then it'll say "My Wounds are clean now" in green; no more SICK status. I can't say if it's actually useful at the moment, but I try to use it if I'm not getting the "Healthy" status after filling my gut with food & water. + what xBlurHitz said.

Experienced this again - found a working LIT lantern on a shelf (odd cause it did not have a canister). Took it and attached a canister....works! :) Went to another server and same ol dim/non-emitting lantern again. Seems to be the relogin that triggers this; perhaps when it's turned on.

Me neither, I tend to do this thing after eating where I drop to a prone, get up and run randomly for a bit....but never fill up and never regen. I usually take that as an "I'm full".

Similar to Nanoha, mine wasn't emitting light, just turning on and changing the model colour. This seems to be be regardless of condition of lamp or gas canister. I got it to work ONCE, my first attempt...then they all just stopped working. Perhaps a lighting/visual effects bug?

Currently, the DayZ Mod allows for servers running either public or private hives. In SA, however, (supposedly) every server is public, meaning same character throughout the game; this is intended. Despite this, word of some instances of multiple characters have come about, such as this thread. I can't vouch that it is currently possible, but should a Private Hive server be discovered, I'd certainly forward the info. There's plenty of tagged threads on the subject below too.

From what I've read/experienced - "Key player data is persistent across all servers." according to their Steam page. I would have said that you ran into the ol' Random character reset bug, but if you retained everything on another server...perhaps that server actually runs a "private hive". You could find the exact server name and I could maybe try it.
