Well, there will be isolated servers. Eventually.

Most unsuccessful would-be murderers?
EncryptedCode replied to dulix11's topic in General Discussion
Just about an hour ago, I ran into a squeaker in Balota with an M4. He tells me to put away my crowbar and strip off my gear, so naturally I take it out and run after him. Mr. Mouse fires a few rounds at me as I begin sprinting towards him but he cannot hit for shit. I then chase him across the Balota airfield and he just completely misses every shot he fires. His 3 or so friends are at the buildings southward of the airstrip and start firing at me as well. I just turn around and serpentine to Cherno, never taking a single bullet. It was the saddest attempt at murder I've ever witnessed. -
-You can go anywhere you want when you spawn. It's a sandbox! Although a suggestion is that you head to Balota, Cherno, and Elektro to get some basic loot and maybe a gun. -Some people KOS like in the mod. It's taking a risk if you don't, but some people are friendly. -Although many things remain similar, nearly everything was redone from the mod. You will have to try it out for yourself. -Balota has endgame loot. It is just simply too easy to gear up.

For those who have not already tried it, I recommend following the first recommendation in this video. Note that I did not create this video! (Click me) This resulted in a huge FPS boost for me and I hope that it can do something for anyone that is struggling. I can only vouch for the first suggestion given in the video. I did not try the second one because I did not want to mess with my view distance, but it is optional.

So I'm geared up and know how to be careful. What now?

I nearly started a topic like this yesterday but refrained. Part of me says: "Oh, this is alpha, don't complain about content. We're just here to test it." And then another part of me says: "Maybe this should be brought up. What if it is an important question to ask so that the developers can work on more endgame content?" Anyways, I guess the next thing to do is build a base once they are ready to implement that. -
[OUTDATED] DayZ: The Ultimate Loot Route
EncryptedCode replied to frostknivez's topic in General Discussion
Very detailed guide! Nicely done :D Although I disagree that it is difficult to gear up. I hope they make it more challenging. All I do is pick up a mountain pack in Balota, find a Mosin in Cherno, then head up to Northwest for more ammo and clothing and the military camp next to the airfield is good for attachments. -
First day and how to be a evil person

Well. That started as a nice story and took a creepy-ass turn. -
Anyone found that ship that was in the devblogs yet?

I haven't unfortunately. I watched my friend loot it on his stream though. I don't think it has anything too valuable; it's just a fun location to visit. -
I call myself the Chernarian Boxer.

I like this idea. It would also give players another objective when playing. Unfortunately, people are so used to KOSing that I'm not sure if it would actually force players to work together.
-
I heard that vehicles were scheduled for release sometime in January. I don't have any proof of that statement though.

Post computer specs please.

I think having 2-3 maps would be a good addition to the game after its official release.

im stuck in a wall and cant get out!

I've been stuck under buildings and inside inaccessible rooms several times within my 11 hours of gameplay. As suggested above, vaulting and proning help. Try crawling under staircases or even using any ladders that are accessible from under the building. -
I agree with most of these points. I think that you more or less mean to say that the map is not being utilized to its full potential, which is a very valid statement. More elegant and varied cities and spawn points would be fantastic. Also, about the large map, it will be more interesting once you are able to build bases. That should add more usage of remote locations.
