The title pretty much asks the question really.. Is there a roadmap for this game somewhere? I was wondering about future plans that are confirmed for the game, things to look forward to. Will there be "Basebuilding" for example (Boarding up houses more like)? And how will illness etc. be implemented? Also, will there ever be less weapons? It seems like all I'm seeing now is more and more weapons being added, and easier ways to store these weapons and ammo (Persistent storage). I ask that because I think that the last thing this game needs is more guns.. If anyone could point me in the direction of either a proper roadmap, or answer these questions that would be great!

So here's an idea for standalone: A little while ago i watched Dawn of the dead again, and there was one thing that i would really love to see in standalone. Be ready for a little story. Imagine this, you just managed to get yourself a working bus and want to roll up on Cherno or Elektro to get yourself some much needed supplies. You know however that your bus isn't capable of withstanding a whole lot of punishment. So you roll up, and almost instantly zombies start swarming your bus. Its dark out and the only thing you can see is whatever is in range of your headlights. The zombies start hammering down on your bus, they start climbing on to it and attempting to push you over. You still haven't got any protection on the bus, nobody is able to fire their weapon out of the bus. Nor can anyone see five feet in front of them. So here's my suggestion: Vehicle modification! And i'm not talking fully armored battle tanks here I'm talking about being able to apply some plywood to the windows or sheets of metal to protect you. Big spotlights on all sides of the bus so you can actually see. And the ability to shoot from the bus. Now i'm obviously not expecting this to happen in DayzMOD but i'd love to see something like this in dayz standalone. Since there will be more zombies and those zombies will be able to destroy your vehicle, it only seems logical that you would be able to protect the vehicle you worked so hard on getting. I hope you agree, please leave some feedback on the suggestion Also, here's a picture of what i'm talking about.

I agree, this won't be doable due to Arma 2 engine limitations right now though.. Perhaps they'll implement something like this for DayZ standalone! I sure hope so! -
Yes, Ace and Acre. I've been playing DayZ for a long time now and it truly is an amazing experience. I think however that with the addition of Ace (or parts of it) and acre this would be even better. Let me explain: In Ace you have a backpack system which is countless times better than the one we currently have. There is carrying weight and CC (how much space there is in you pack). This along with Ace's stamina system is great, 'cause the more weight you've got on you, the faster you run out of breath and are forced to rest. This would have you make choices on what to take with you; Do i take that extra gun in my pack and sacrifice running distance? or do i leave it and have more mobility? Then there is ace's interaction menus: In ace there is a key (right windows key by standard, but can be re-mapped) which allows you to interact with yourself in every way. You can treat your wounds, change ammo-type, even swap barrels for an MG (ofcourse these are things that would have to be added for them to work). There is also a menu for other players like this, this will allow you to examine the other player to see what wounds need to be treated, enter their inventory, take their dogtags if they died etc. Now Acre, Acre is a radio-system that works in conjunction with Team Speak 3. Some clever fellow made this mod and i have no clue on how it works, but it works. Basically what it does is add radios to the game; There is short and long range radios, ones you carry on your back and ones you carry in you utilities. These radios are tied to channels, which you can choose yourself. There is also a talking option, players in your general vacinity can hear you speak. You'd be able to hear other people talk when they are close to you, or tap in to other peoples radio channels. Obviously these radios would have to be very rare, the shortrange as rare as an alice or a coyote pack, and the longrange as rare as a m249 or m107. Tldr; Add ace for the Backpack and stamina systems, and Acre for all the options this would add regarding radios and talking.Discuss:D Also, here's the inventory system explained. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUoCKw8XZnI

Food and water, What in my experience is the essence of survival, is getting food, water and shelter. Now it is ofcourse already implemented that we need to eat to survive, but i think it's currently to easy to get food and water. In many cases i dropped my water bottle to make room for ammo because i knew i was going to Find plenty of cans of soda. This doesnt seem right to me, the struggle for water and food should be at least or even more important than getting a gun. Same goes for food, right now you can live on beans, while you only use meat to replentish blood. Therefore my suggestion is to tone down the amount of beans and soda spawning, and make finding a lake, well or an animal alot more important. Make it so, that Finding à can of food is just like finding that makarov when you have just respawned. Tldr; less cans of food and water, more emphesis on wells, lakes and animals. Survival is all about finding food and water. Another thing that would be great, is something like a can opener for the cans of food. And having to boil the water to get rid of bacteria.

This might actually work. I think the best part about your suggestion would be The scrollwheel thing, if you can for instance your hachet without having to swap all your gear around you wouldnt risk having your gear dissappear, and it would be alot quicker. Good idea!

Don't get me wrong, Namalsk is a great map, however its to small... I personally think that chernarus is already a pretty small map, since you can travel from one end of the map to the other in about half an hour.. A bigger map is needed, maybe a expansion of chernarus. I know that takistan and chernarus are both connected to a land that is roughly 3 times the size of chernarus, so if that can get added, along with takistan, that would make a brilliant map. -

YES!!! Does this mean that we can have a town cleared for a short period of time? Allowing us to loot a town in relative safety after having taken the risk of clearing it? That would be awesome! -

Well i'm not saying that beans should go alltogether, just decrease the spawn probability. Rocket already stated that there will be more animals, so we wont have to search endlessly. -

[/quote'] Considering how the game won't let people give themselves transfusions, I'm going to call bullshit on your counterargument - and yes. Eating DOES help recover your blood but on a much slower scale than in real life. In fact the ONLY realistic way to get back blood is via blood bags - blood bags that have obviously gone bad in the time from when they were still in a functional refrigerator unit and till you picked it up and kept it at +room temperatures for days. Well yes, you do have a valid point. However, in order to both encourage teamplay and increase the paranoia and challenge in solo play, food sources have to be toned down! What is the challenge in survival when food is everywhere? You don't go on a survival trip (bear gryls style) expecting to find glorious food everywhere do you? We need to be happy to find even one can of food, not say "oh ffs, not another stash of food, i need a friggin map now!" NO! we should be happy to find some food, a sheep or a water well. -
