This and also when you spawn on beach, check sun positioning if possible so you can be heading towards each other (ie. one person have sun to the left the other to there right and you'll eventually meet).
-
Great tip for you OP. Remember that one!!
-
I'd like to add; - Don't always run for building cover, scout an area out from the trees. - Look for open doors (means someone has looted there) - Take high ground if possible - crouched run is faster then normal run

I am still hyped for ESO. Nothing will stop that. DayZ is good though too.....there are so many possiblities with DayZ that I often get rather excited thinking about them. If they happen, that would be great.

I just want to say thanks for calling out "We're Friendly". Since it was the dead of night (I don't fiddle with settings) I nearly shit my pants when I saw you. I have not had to kill anyone yes so I am happy about keeping that stat. Although I must admit I was taken off guard a bit and just wanted to thank you for not taking me out. I did try to find you guys and share some of the ammo I had looted but it was too late you guys were off in the night and I didn't want to run the risk of you thinking I was another and run around with my lamp on. Anyway, good luck if you happen to see this message! :beans:

I'm pretty sure the dev's would call it something other then a "Stab Proof Vest" because.... ya it sounds stupid.

Only thing that I am interested is tracking hours/days played on a toon so I can log my survival time.

Not sure about filling it at the sea. Some marshy areas you can that are near the sea though. Best bet is to head off the coast if possible and go to a town. look for wells with hand pumps. Most of the time the are near major intersections or near apartment buildings in the towns. Large scale farms on the roads to and from towns can sometimes have them too.
-
Yeah go farther in land. I am so stocked up at the moment that I can't even loot food and I see it everywhere. Go for the medium sized towns in land. Noropebka is one of my favorite spots.
-
I totally forgot about looting cars...thanks :) I have found several. Mostly in the Building that has the piano in the main foyer. And a couple times they have not been visable on a shelf but when I tab to view another item, a Mosin is sitting there.
-
I killed one with a firefighter axe. Took a few swings though. Couldn't loot the corpse of meat or anything, should I have been able too?
-
Oh no! The knockout game has reached DayZ. What is this world coming too? :) But seriously what are you doing fully geared near the coast unless you where there to pick off noobs? I say you got your cumuffins, CUMUFFINS!!!!

I agree. And as another mentioned about crafting caches would make sense. Yeah I already miss some of the forests in the mod version. Right now I'm camped out in a random thicket and I don't feel all that safe. Ideally my goal if when loot becomes persistent and if we can craft caches is to simply work with other soloists, provide a location of our caches and keep them restocked and supplied while we watch this game progress.
-
should be easy to make it so any item that contains slots like a pack can be persistent. It makes sense if things are just piled that some would go missing with factors like weather and wildlife.

Anyone that changes the settings are pussies.
-
if this is true I will be in heaven. As a solo survivalist and a recon player this will add.so much for my gameplay.
-
I agree about mountain pack size. Different compartments is a good idea. But so is the staking of items. I think the stack size is something we can live with now and we will see changed later on. Its a typical fix in almost every new mmo...changing the stack size of items.

I thought the content was to kill zeds help/hurt players and stay alive. Anything else is a pure bonus.....

I would love to have the ability to Geo cache in DayZ. It could add a fun mini game and a reason to strike out in the wilderness. Lots of possibilities! What do others think?
-
Do loot piles not despawn like in the mod? I thought things are only safe in tents. But yes initially I was thinking along the lines of specific containers. Camouflaged ones or varying sizes that are not ment to be moved or carried to far. With a GPS it would be so much fun. You could have server admins place loot in some for an event with clues etc.
-
If you move your cursor over the frame of the window and click and drag the size you want. Something is buggy because when you move over from the arrows to size don't show.
-
I personally would like to see nudie mags.

We saved a fresh spawn today. (Kross)

Great example to set OP. -
I love night time scavanging. Its so immersive. Call me crazy. But that's part of the reason I play it. My only complaints is not being able to play this at ultrahigh.

I was wondering if server size will ever increase? I would love larger ones personally.
