If you end up getting glitched under the map as a new spawn, we don't want to hear you whining that there's no way for you to restart.

Video in first post doesn't look like a hack, at all, to me. It clearly shows a camper preying on new spawns, one of which is having connection issues as is clearly displayed on the bottom left hand corner. Someone else, then, sneaks up on the camper and puts a quick end to him. Very likely someone who spotted new spawns getting sniped from the hilltop.

We should have the option to delete a character, if suicide is somehow stressful for the servers. I fell through the map at the shipwreck and couldn't even drown myself.

This reputation was earned in the rifle's debut in Vietnam. It isn't 1960, anymore. I've handled dozens of M's and AR's and jamming is a rarity that can almost always be blamed on user error. M4 is more than "decent" - it kicks the shit out of the AK particularly in terms of accuracy.

I was stuck in the ocean, dead, but alive, for several days. I'm in the middle of a thesis so I rarely have time to Alpha test. I eventually got out of the loop by crawling to shore and falling to my death. And then being pummeled to death, after death, by three random players with crowbars and shovels.

Weird that I have had nearly 0% success with it. I wonder how many "kos" happened because one party got no chat response from the other.

I've tested it with a buddy. It rarely works. Could be standing a meter away looking right at the person and they won't see the text.

While not a part of the gaming industry, in my experience with huge projects where the brainchild team leader announces he's quitting before the project is completed, feel good caveats from the quitter are almost never acceptable to the company he's leaving. Like so many other people, here I have enjoyed the Alpha immensely and have confidence that the new director may shame Rocket with a finished product far beyond what the brainchild thought possible.

Had I known Rocket was going to abandon this project before it was completed, I would not have pre-ordered. Folks can say what they want about him giving plenty of notice - leaving a project is not like leaving a run-of-the-mill position. I can appreciate that he's homesick, but this will damage his reputation.

The server crashes, so you take a break. You come back a few hours or even days later, and instead of resuming your character's journey where you left off or got disconnected, you've been dumped back on the beach. I have lost five or six of my geared characters to this, whatever is happening, and never once have I had a "you died" or "you're unconscious" type message. It's an Alpha, et al, but I'd feel better if I knew it was relatively common.

I wonder how many of the people screaming "hacker" have just been bested?

How does the flight helmet compare to the ballistic helmet?

Not sure if the douchebaggery is in jest or not... ... But twice this week I have spawned on the beach with no gear and been forced to start all over. Not a big deal, but still dunno why it seems to happen to me and none of my buddies.

I don't mind the folks that KoS -- I get it, there's not much to do in game for some folks and it's just an Alpha. ... but people that yell "friendly" with the intention of murder are complete dumpsters.

It's a convenience that I would rather have and suffer others abuse, than to not have the convenience and the bastards find some other way to do what they do.

For all the hype it gets, the SKS usually disappoints in real life. I have had a few. For DayZ purposes, it should be "good" condition but never "pristine" and should probably never degrade beyond that. But the M4 isn't as fragile as the tired old myth goes, either (originated with the first batch of M16's in Vietnam, I guess -- over fifty years ago?).

For your enlightenment, 5.56 and .223 fired from an M4 and an M4-profiled AR-15 sound exactly the same. There's a pretty obvious reason for that.
