The crazies will, and it's simulated in this game :) They feel nothing but enjoyment over killing, tormenting, and demoralizing people..

How to stimulate an Emergent Economy in DayZ - discussion
capt. beefsteak replied to Roshi (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Hey, Groups with market's, having to guard farmland, creating strong holds, barracades... Money could be used to speed up the process to do certain things.. Other groups could try to bring down the economic structure of another, however for things like that, we might need a larger map.. I know there is alot of open area, but still.. you'd have people knocking on your door with bad intentions like every 20mins or so.. Also at that point you'd almost have to restrict the number of players per group, because if 80% flock to one side of the fence, you'd have a monopoly... I would like to see a blindfold option, this way you could take people places and they wouldn't really know where they were taken.. Somewhere like let's say, your marketplace, or w/e.. -
Trying to feed people at Kamyshovo...

I've been down those roads as well man... I'm just saying it's not everyone, I know this because 134 hours in so far tells me so. The issue is for the most part, the guy's that just lost all their shit. I've been killed in every way you could imagine.. but then I've also taken care of business when it seemed I was overpowered.. I think my favorite encounter was with a bandit who came at me at bolata with a magnum when all I had was a 2 hit splitting axe. The guy said "hey stop" I was like "What's up man?" he says "Put the axe on the ground" I do it... Then he says "I need you to take off your backpack". I play dumb and say "What do you mean" he says "Come on man, you know what this is" I laughed and was like "how about just killing me because im not dropping my back pack brosky" he says "I don't wanna have to kill you man" I was like "just walk away then bro" He proceeded to take his bat out, I was like ha! haha, and started running but he did get a hit on me.. I ran around the back wall into a bush and watched him run out into the street looking for me.. He said "what a puss" He assumed I logged out. He was wrong, When he went out of sight I bandaged went back and grabbed my axe.. Then I walked into the prison and found an m4 and a clip or two and tried to look for him, but he was long gone.. EDIT: he had no ammo for the gun. Moral of the story is this game is great lol.. -
If i buy the alpha for standalone will i have to pay again for PS4?
capt. beefsteak replied to dreaderus's topic in General Discussion
Funny thing is, it's usually a game released on ps4 or xbox that makes it to pc... meaning your pc version of cod or bf is no better than what you get on the console... Shame right? However, yes with this game it would have to be diluted a bit.. But then the ps4 and xbox1 aren't really much in the way of slouches, though no match for a monster pc... You also need to keep in mind that pc games are developed by a min and max spec.. They aren't just going to put out a game for only people who paid 3grand for a custom pc. Thats to narrow of a market for any dev bro.. -

The reason why i kill on sight now !!
capt. beefsteak replied to africanhungergames's topic in General Discussion
It's a mixed bag of nuts out there, so far it appears only bandits try to punch armed individuals... I've feed alot of people.. Then some dude comes along and I ask if he needs food... He will say something shitty, like "no ill take everything" and proceed to punch at me... I usually just log out, since killing him kinda messes up my agenda there.. And the other players I just fed won't understand why I'm spraying down a spawn and may try to help, this even after I just squared them away... -
Do you support "Killing on sight"?

The answer to each question for me is 1. I do what I want. 2. I do what I want. 3. I do what I want -

I don't mind helping people that's what i do in kamyshovo.. I don't give anyone a loaded gun though... I will give non clipped pistols out, I hate bandits more thans spawns who take a chance on me.. That's a fact. EDIT: Even with spawns you can tell if they are a bandit or not.. Bandit spawns usually run up and try to knock you out.. and talk shit.. Truthfully they are just the rejects of the game, that will go find a gun and a few clips then come back and kill spawns until they die.. Unfortunatly you'll usually only run into them if you get killed and make your way to one of the military bases, or remain on the main road until they pop up out of the grass to kill you for your teeshirt. Remember, not all people are dicks, and most bandits aren't friendly.. I hate people like you discribe though, friendly when it's convenient for them, and dicks when they have the upper hand... -
People are absolute dicks on this game!
capt. beefsteak replied to Caspion's topic in General Discussion
I am actually usually 99.9 percent of the time armed, and very nice, i help ppl around kamyshovo because if i show some kindness I feel it will spread throughout the game... or at least throughout some people I give out canteens, antibiotics, tincture, food, and i've given out a pistol.. I try to give people a bit more of a chance, almost like the watchdog of Kamyshovo... If someone starts spraying down the spawns, I go find them, and eliminate them.. We all know those people i speak of are on the rooftops of hospitals, industrial buildings, and the hills of electro.. I don't mind watching those fuckers combat log as soon as someone fires back, because all that show's is that they suck at the game.. Failures continuing to fail.. I'm a 31 year old player, maybe that's why I have a talk before kill mantality -
Unfortuantly no you don't

What do you think of fresh spawns being able to punch?
capt. beefsteak replied to Chungmugong's topic in General Discussion
Bitch is, the game only offers punching, your logic is fucked... And if my neck was broke, you'd be wasting your time "finishing me off" -

capt. beefsteak replied to Chungmugong's topic in General Discussion
Dude, you can punch me in the head all day if i a wearing a motorcycle helmet and the only thing that will happen is you will break your fucking hands... Sorry, that's just how it is... Unless, you forgot that they were designed to protect your head from blunt force trama, which far exceeds what your fists could never even begin to produce. -

What do you think of fresh spawns being able to punch?
capt. beefsteak replied to Chungmugong's topic in General Discussion
I agree that fists suck, however, it's not to hard to find a melee wep.. I don't think someone should have the ability to hit a few pumps to hydrate then punch my ass and take my stuff, they got close enough to do it because either they combat logged, or I was being nice and they charged me while my weapon was out. Making it that easy, takes the fun out of looting hotspots all together. EDIT: I've been charged by people with all sorts of melee, but they are slower, I've also been charged with fists and run punching is retarded. I know there bandits, because they talk shit the entire time they are giving chase. If I was killing people where i was then i would have just shot those fuckers too.. it's that simple. Give me something to protect myself from these "punch bandits" because they are not playing the game fair, log after log time after time. If I were sitting in one spot the whole damn time, killing loads of folks i wouldn't complain a single bit if I got logged, but I actively hunt spawn killers, as well as help the freshies out. Not only is it rewarding to kill these spawn killers, it's helping the game. Help me help Dayz survive combat loggers lol -

capt. beefsteak replied to Chungmugong's topic in General Discussion
I like where your going with that. I think the main focus is here, (and I'll be the one to say, yes it almost happened to me) if that now fresh spawns are listening for gunshots and logging to get behind people. I fired my weapon because Mr. Axe though he was going to be bold. I was jumped from behind only shortly there after seconds. I agree, if ballistc helmets are pristen they should be able to actually hurt the player. The other feature that the guy who was "chasing me" yes he was, my gun wasn't out because i don't walk around with it out was some kind of run and punch where he was able to be faster than me. You more defenseless than a fresh spawn if you can't get your weapon out because you can't get space between you. I also had my fists up when running to gather more speed or so it seems. Eventually he caught up, I was either going to die or kill him I had made up my mind already. He didn't win, however even in 3rd person it's hard to shoot someone with an m4 running circles around you. Moral to this story is, don't take away the fresh spawn's punches, but give the fully geared player the option to mace, stab, something.. Because I feel, call me a bad player or w/e that the current ease in which a spawn can kill you is quite unfair. I am new to the game, not the best, however I worked for the gear I have. So people calling these punch kids bandit killers?? Pretty sure they are the bandits and just don't wanna run all the way to bolota so they hop till they hear shots, then look for someone to combat log and punch. I can tell you this, it's a great feature, but it's a bit OP from the stories I heard above, from a tired thristy spawn. Let it be in game, but give me a counter for those who abuse the system via combat logging. I actually attempt to help spawns, bandages, show them where the water is ect... I suppose the real thing to do is to kill them too... Before long they will all be able to take your gear, and that's that.. Lastly, if I may, the option to keep it may also limit bandit spawn kills, KOS may go down quite a bit if the bandit know's he to is actually quite vounerable. -
What happened to 10 -- 15buck$ alpha pricing?
capt. beefsteak replied to archibald tutter's topic in General Discussion
It's because everyone is convinced that they are the superest bestest player in the world, and it's unfair when if and how they get killed. Must be hacks, because nobody can do it without them. It's a horrid percentage of these untouchable players that can't stand the idea of once in a while being bested.. It happens get over it, because it's going to happen again... -
What happened to 10 -- 15buck$ alpha pricing?
capt. beefsteak replied to archibald tutter's topic in General Discussion
I think the idea is that the 12 year old is to immature to play the game as it is meant to be played, so then it makes it easy for them to kill those who may be older trying to experiance the game for what it's worth.. I will put a "however" in the mix though.. However, if you intend to stoop to the youngsters level, and get killed by them, (they are all on the coast on roof tops with moslins and hp scopes) knowing you stand that chance of getting killed by someone like that should also be sitting in the back of your mind as you attempt to enjoy the game. If "you" play the game like "them" your chances of dying by a "bullet to the head" go up. Any person really trying to survive wouldn't go into an area where they know that these "kids" have weapons and intend to kill them, even in real life. This in turn makes the CoD statement's by those getting killed for staying in the "CoD kid" area's of the map become a bad survival move on your part. Also realize that nobody is good enough to say alive in this game for any super extended period of time at the moment. If they are it's because they are up north, found a random town and live currently off server reset's to gain food and medicine etc.. I do go into coastal towns as well, and I do get killed. I don't always know who it is, but then the game is setup so you won't know. There are a handful of exploit's and I've posted my complaints like the next guy. However like in all games, the better you know the map, the longer you live. Learning the hotspots for sniperfire, via hills of electro etc.. goes a long way in staying alive. But as I mentioned before, you place you life on the line each time you go into a coastal town just based on the shear number of people who spawn kill the freshies from the rooftops, and the occasional decked out military dude, which I would assume you'd be, running around feeling bold, until you run between the crosshairs of a Bandits scope. If it's the survival aspect you seek, then be aware of your surroundings to get a head up on those you know are out there trying to kill you, and make you put your keyboard through your monitor. At this point in the alpha, on to the beta, and full release you are still in control of your player, he only goes where you put him. Choose your loot areas wisely to live, or die and rage because you thought you became a badass in a server where 98.5 percent of the time (my statistics) you get killed regardless of what's on your person. -
Ultra realism Vs Balanced game design
capt. beefsteak replied to kermo50's topic in General Discussion
I like real, but the top speed of running is something like 30-40 mph, i mean the dude hauls ass ... real is real, the game does have some handicap already fellas.. He run's a 4 k in 4 mins and takes a few deep breaths lol.. EDIT: that translates to 37mph @ 4k in 4 mins, i would like to see shoes wear faster lmao.. -
I recently killed, or at least thought I killed a dude, he was nowhere to be found... A few minutes later, him and a buddy came on. I watched them from afar circle around where I was posted to try to find and eliminate me. It was from me a KOS attempt on someone who had some nice gear, perhaps food and another pistol. Sure as shit not going to let someone armed (after playing for a while and learning how people are with weapons) get the better end of the deal on me this time. I watched him make his way toward town with a firearm, on the road, not from the woods, and as soon as he was close enough for the sure kill I put off 10 rounds from my m4. I thought the drop was a little to fast, as i moved toward where the corpse should have been and there wasn't one. You see, I entered this town because I know it, I was on high alert due to bodies already littering the open road. This was the reason for my stealth KOS mantatlity at this moment. That and after last night giving a dude some bandages and water, along with the trade off for can of beans, I was KOS'ed myself entering the hillside of electro.. The game has far to many armed bandits running around, and now, they are combat logging as soon as possilbe, coming back with support and attempting to do what I assumed he'd have done which is why I wanted to kill him. Call me dirty, but if it were you, you'd have done the same thing... I only assume a combat log would have been done if I tried to talk or hold up due to being able to jump into another server, grab a better position and a buddy then hop back in and try to kill me, not to mention I watched them kill a fresh spawn upon logging back into the server to find me. I will remain behind a bush somewhere on a daytime server, waiting to kill all armed people if combat logging isn't stopped, you can bet your ass on it, since I am a solo player attempting to have some fun.
-
It's all good, I just read that rocket is going to make it so you can't server jump (combat log to be precise) when he get's back from where ever he is. I hope it ruin's the game for those that currently ruin the game for me. I will say this, it's not most people.. It's a small percentage that do it. I won't mind if it's a fix that doesn't allow them back into the server that they logged out of for say.. 20mins or so?? But I would really like it if your not able to hop out while bleeding and not able to rejoin that server for 20 mins.. You have to be able to leave the server, however if bleeding that would mean you have to bandage yourself prior to leaving, if not a "your ass is gonna die if you log out" message should appear and you should have to accept it, respawn and try your luck again... EDIT: My buddy and I played last night and he fell to his death, I was able to salvage some of his gear and give it back to him after this.. I wonder personally, since your body stays even after you respawn on the same server, are you able, lets say if close enough to run back to you own corpse and reclaim what you lost?? He was running back, however he died on the nw airstrip from the fire tower, he was a fresh spawn, however all his gear was still there..
